Cloud's EX-mode build: Overpowered?

I'm seriously awestruck at how broken Cloud's EX-mode is. As such, I made an equipment/accessory build around EX-mode:

Lv100
Weapon: Ragnarok (Physical Damage +25%)
Arm: Blue Moon
Head: Chaplet
Armor: Snowflake Sweater
These 3 equipments makes up Snowpetal (Magic Counter Strength +300%, BRV Boost on Block +30%)

Accessories:
Close to You - Red acc (Absorb EX Force during attacks, when damaged, after summoning)
Center of the World - Red acc (EX Intake Range +2m, EX Force/Core Absorption +15%)
Gold Hourglass - Normal acc (EX Mode Duration +20%)
Pearl Necklace - Normal acc (EX Force Absorption +30%)
Gravitorb - Normal acc (EX Intake Range +3m)
Level 100 (Booster 1.2)
Summon Unused - Opponent (Booster 1.5)
After Summon - Opponent (Booster 1.5)
Summon Unused - Self (Booster 1.5)
After Summon - Self (Booster 1.5)

If you're decent at blocking, the Snowpetal set effect is great for boosting BRV. Coupled with Meteorain when countering a magic attack, and you're in for some heavy damage dealing.

For the weapon of choice, I actually chose Ragnarok over Cloud's Exclusive - Fenrir, since Ragnarok's boost is not conditional, whereas Fenrir's must be on Wall Rush.

With the accessory setup, the multiplier is always at 2.7 as long as BOTH you and your opponent have summonstones. They help a lot to fill/replenish the EX gauge. Once full, go right into EX mode, and you can basically stay in EX mode as long as you want to. Probably won't be that effect against Human opponents since they can just keep running or dodging until you run out of EX force. But hey, for in-game purposes, I think this is as best as it gets, since Cloud's attacks in EX-mode are guard-breaking: Infinite EX-mode = Unblockable attacks.

I actually came up with this because I was having trouble with Inward Chaos' Chaos. Quit the chapter to regroup after losing to him 10+ times. Will attempt again - hopefully I'll beat him next time with this build

Been fighting those Lv100 SSS-rank Password Ghosts that I couldn't beat before. Once I get Cloud to EX-mode, it's a OHKO for all of them lol, even Onion Knight (Ninja ghost)! Been milking them for booster accessories and special equipment ingredients (for Ultima Weapon and Piggy Stick).

Every character has their weakness and strengths, and different strategy's to be used. It's about how you use them. Lets look at Cloud nemesis. Lets say if you work him around his EX mode. You be unable to glide all over the place whenever you need to make some distance between you and your enemy. Then, you can keep your opponent BRV so low that you can break at anytime given when your attacking. ^^

Finally beat Inward Chaos' Chaos. Went the easy way by equipping Arcane Resin then go into EX mode straight from the start of the battles. Kept myself near Chaos and kept countering and breaking him lol.

re: Cloud's EX-mode build: Overpowered?

I haven't actually found anyone's EX Mode/EX Burst incredibly useful, since they always seem to do a lot less then a normal HP Attack, but when I get the items, I'll try that set up. It sounds powerful.

Cool build!

One question though, can you give me a step by step instruction on how to enter the password for the ghost card fights?
Please use an example since I'm not sure where the ghost card will appear or if it will be listed once you enter 5 or more passwords though. Can't even unlock a single ghost card

It is very simple, go to Gamefaqs.com
then search the Cheat Section, then search for the Password (NA) version, it's easy to tell, the NA version are Only numbers.
then go on the Mode Selection screen to "Comunications Mode", Friend Card Settings and then Edit Message.

Than you write the password there, then press start, after you press start you should receive a message saying "Password Acepted" and the item you got and your previous Message will be restores, if it isn't and you don't receive any message you have entered it wrong, there might be no spaces.
to change to "number" imput i think you hvae to press Select.

if you need further help PM me

re: Cloud's EX-mode build: Overpowered?

Squalls Ex mode is pretty good too
it doubles the number of hits per attack, and increases your range so that the enemy doesnt have enough time to think to block
