Hey all, I've been playing Dissidia since it was released in the states and have been using Squall as my main ever since.

I understand there's a replay thread already but please bear in mind this thread isn't being made to "show off" my replay but more as a venue for feedback from other players.

All my set abilities and equips are written in the description on youtube and you can see my playstyle from the video. Any opinions and suggestions would be appreciated...I see some videos online of people doing crazy 9999 damage in mere seconds to a max level Chaos...how the hell do they do that?

Just swapped out Level 100 for Summon Unused for the 1.5times effect.

Also consider using Ex Mode as a block move as well. Its saved my existence on more than one battle.

Also for "Snooze and Lose" (i dont know about squall) but having a magic attack or a attack that doesn't do much by itself (ex. Rising Fang) cancels the effect.

Also consider a different dash if you always want to be a menace towards your enemy.. the one that directs you towards your foe (pressing Right trigger and /\ ) works alot better for me. (i also use multi air-slide)

i take it you also direct upload vids after conversation?

Wow, lol at the Twin Lance. You REALLY need something better than that, ASAP. I recommend Royal Swordsmans Blade. It's a level 78 sword that doesn't require any trades. Also, you could try the Invincible course, and look for the Imp equipment (Impartisan, Reed Cloak, Saucer and Tortoise Shield) in there. It costs 18 medals IIRC. The best part is that it is a level 85 set that anybody can equip. If you can beat the Invincible course battles with your equips >_>

After that, you could go for Ultima Weapon. You have to get the passwords for the secret friend cards (can't remember which ones exactly) and 3 of them will have Battlegen accessories which you can trade for an Ultima Weapon in the shop. It is a level 100 special, so everyone can equip it, and it is a good consolation until you get Lionheart.

Lastly, if you can play the Lunar Whale course pretty well you could go for the snowpetal set, which costs 18 medals, and all of it is equippable by Squall. These equips are generally nice because most characters can equip them and they work great until you can get level 100 exclusives or whatever else.

Also, you could make a much better Ex build than that. Here is mine:

Gravitorb
Pearl Necklace
Close to You
HP 100% (Squall)
HP 100% (Enemy)
Summon Unused (Squall)
Level=Multiple of 5
Level=Multiple of 4
Ex Mode (Squall)
BRV More than or equal to base value

This works well because Squall is made for one shotting and in Ex mode he can build up 9999 brave insanely fast. The brave>or=to base booster works because with Squall almost inevetibly will have more than his base brave.

The build makes one Beat Fang fill up half the Ex bar because the multiplier is usually an easy 6-7x, so you can stay in ex mode forever if you land basically any brave attack every 20 seconds or so, and with Ex critical boost on you can forgo any other expensive crit boosters because you will be in Ex mode the whole time anyway

This saves more cp for basic abilities like speed boost++. Also, the only truly difficult accessory to make is Close to You. This build works pretty well without it though, but not as well as it could.

Also, try mindgames with heel crash. If you dodge during the animation, you just stop in the middle of a move and can do whatever else. The good part is that you can do it at almost any time during the move. Every so often, try throwing out a couple of heel crashes and dodge at random times in different directions to confuse. Every so often try switching to beat fang or aerial circle to catch the enemy off guard. If the enemy blocks, keep going with the heel crash for the other guy to stagger for a free hit!

Yeah I use ex-mode as a block often it saves my ass dozens of times. I also didn't know what snooze and lose does in that video, if you check out my video vs Cloud I throw random thunder shots just to cancel snooze and lose effect ;]

I love my Omni air Dash. I tried going back to the normal one to dash towards the opponent but it just didn't work out for me.

if by direct upload you mean hit square at the end then convert the file then upload it to my laptop where i then put it on youtube then yes, i do that ;p

I was originally using that sword but decided to switch to twin lance for the ex-core absorb+15% since I figured at the loss of a few attacks I get to go into ex-mode faster is a worthy trade off. I'd like others opinions on this if possible.

when I farm for items I go as Onion Knight but that's just not fun at all ;/

thanks for the suggestion I have all of those except pearl necklace. I'll try adding more booster type items but my hp is rarely at 100% nor is my enemies.

I took the accessory advice and decided to change mine up following a similar pattern as the one given to me where I have mostly booster accessories.

Ivory Choker-ex force absorb +15%
Silver Hourglass- ex mode duration +10%
Summon unused-when i have not summoned: effect 1.5X
Ex Mode- When in ex mode 1.3X
Level 100- 1.2X
Level=Mult of 5- 1.2X
After 30 sec- 1.2X
Tenacious attacker: absorb ex force during atk
Amplification Powder- Ex core absorb+10%

The Ex Core absorption + equipments are not particularly good, and that 15% extra from Twin Lance isn't boosted by accessories. And 10 attack really does make a difference in Dissidia. A serious difference. The reason why Ex Core absorption isn't particularly good is because Ex Force absorption with something like Close to You or Tenacious Attacker gives you much more if you have boosters and you only need to attack the enemy. And I wouldn't bother with the extra Ex Mode duration accessory either. When one Beat Fang every 20 seconds keeps you in Ex forever you don't really need to worry. I would swap it out for a Gravitorb, extra intake range helps much more for an Ex Build Squall. And replace the Amplification Powder for another booster, maybe HP=100%?

And the imp set is really easy to get. That half an hour of Invincible course will make all you characters seem 3 times stonger at level 85 then they are now. That is if your equips for your other characters are as behind as Squalls.

alright so i took your advice and changed my gear around and this is what it looks like now.

all my equipment is basically the same except for my sword, i changed it to save the queen atk+58 initial brv +40%


my accessories are as follows;

silver hour glass- ex mode duration +10%
summon unued: 1.5X
attacking BRV: 1.2X
Ex Mode:1.3X
Near Opponent: 1.2X
After 30 seconds: 1.2X
Level00: 1.2X
Level multiple of 5: 1.2X
Tenacious attacker: Absorb ex force during atks.

I tried a battle using this and it went a lot smoother and my dmg wasn't pitiful. I was wondering though, how do damage + XX% and physical damage +XX% differ? Also, should I add one into my build?

Well, I think instead of a Champion belt or something in yor tenth slot once you get it, I would go for Ex Force absorption from a Pearl Necklace, and maybe give Squall the Equip Katanas ability (trade a lore, can't remember which) because the final one, Heaven's Cloud, gives +6m Ex Force absorption range. That is if you really want to keep that Ex Mode duration+ accessory, but I wouldn't recommend it, it takes up precious CP that could be used for something else, so ou could replace the duration accessory for a Pearl Necklace or something and use a Gravitorb for your final slot.
