I have been playing The Last Remnant for a while and am BR 95 and I can truthfully say I haven't a clue what I am doing. Why if I have healers and a their group is near death am I not given the option to heal? I have Jager in a group but I haven't been given the option to use Beowulf for a over a week - and Davids Gae Bolg hasn't been seen for about 2 weeks.

Other than the fact that I have no idea what to do or what is happening and why and when I am quite enjoying it.

I am now not enjoying this game - it seems because I missed a quest or 2 on the first disk there is no way I can get any more achievements. Basically if you want to play this game you have to buy or download a step by step guide and follow it to the letter. Then you can mess about with the impenetrable battle system and spend hours playing a game which is basically your random number generator against their random number generator.

On the whole I think it's a very poor game - the really tough battles are just luck - play a batle 20 times until the random number generator decides to give you some decent attacks (gae bolg) more than once or twice and the same random number generator allows you to heal.

I am BR105 - the Stymphalian Bird kills me every time - it uses curse, then bewitch, then I am dead - every time. As I said in a previous post you need a guide for this game and don't even think about not following it to the letter. This isn't an RPG

I've done S'bird on BR60. It's matter of tactics, do not charge at first (so max 1 team is cursed), heal cursed, tank the bird while healers and long-range attack do it's job. Simple as this. And you can try to get an extra attack - witch isn't only random.

You have morale (is it morale? mana?) for every unit - it is this bar aside letter 'M'. You charge it by dealing damage and uncharge by gettin hit. Once you have it charged AND have a lot of AP, keep it up around 1-2 turns and you'll get special for sure. It's pretty easy for dave and Rush's/Irina omnistrike, yet I don't know how to charge talisman prottection, cyclops/sins/lob omen; beowulf and revenge are relatively easy, and hundred flowers was hardest to charge - at least for my strike team, that's possible it is beacuse they was simple tankers, blocking damage and dealing a lot themselves.

As for Gae Bolg, it can be used in rapid fire mode if you're in a massive battle and Dave is almost charged, try to left alive as much enemy units for his Remnant as possible - it will wipe them out (along with smaller bosses/rares) AND instantly recharge, as every wiped union recharges morale bar again. So, enough of them and Gae Bolg is... quite.. dangerous... Yet I prefer to do it the hard way

Thanks, I have given up on the game - after spending several hours trying and failing to get stuff for the assistants quest I decided the game is pointless. I have spent a couple of months fumbling around with the game and I really have no clue what I am doing. I didn't follow a step by step guide so a lot of the game and its achievements are closed to me. I have no idea how the battle system works, I have no idea how characters upgrade or what half the stuff they ask me for is. I find lots of stuff which means nothing to me. The game is a complete mystery. I can't be bothered hacking around in the awful union setup board in order to somehow stumble upon a union setup which works - I can't be bothered messing around with the impenetrable formation crap either.

My review of this game: avoid it like the plague.
