Flying

I don't know if it's just me, but I bought this game and I HATE the flying controls.

The 'pitch' is weird, and you can't really tell if you're moving foward or not with so much shit on the screen.

Thoughts?

re: Flying

I agree. That would be why they added auto-pilot. But camera lock is just so bad.

But think about it: this game wasn't made for space combat. If you want a flying game, go buy Ace Combat.

But I have to say, flying is pretty bad. And with camera lock, it's even worse.

re: Flying

Oh for sure. There are far better flying games out there.
Still, it's irritatiing when you're trying to complete the campaign and forced to go into flying missions.

re: Flying

Oh I agree. I used to love space combat. They were especially easy for getting the three 'point' medals and the frenzy one.
But now... they aren't great. Now I have the Rogue leader, I don't really bother doing them that much. Unless it's Kashyyk or Coruscant then I just get the platform =)

re: Flying

O___o I disagree, I think the camera lock is an awesome feature.

I use it a lot (advanced controls) over default controls.
Here's a hint.

Believe it or not, target lock cam is an essential part of a flight sim. The fact that they added the feature, as well as holding adjustable speeds (MGTL meter is right freakin' there - it shows your speed). It's not for flight rookies, but is there for flight enthusiasts. A big plus.
I've taken out a lot of players thanks to target lock, and its superior trackinga ability.

re: Flying

First, cool you actually made the video!!
And second, I still don't like it. I find it too awkward turning, so I just either use Auto-pilot, or don't at all.

re: Flying

It's still quite useful. If you target something, toggle it on to see where it is, oriented to your craft, then turn it off and head that way, then relock when the view is less 'a hassle'.

Yeah, i've been making videos for a little over a year now.
