Good starter weapon setups

Hey all. I'm getting this game (special edition) for christmas, (don't judge me, you all peeked to) and I was just wondering what a good, well rounded set up would be to start with. It's been forever since I last played SOCOM II, so I'm pretty rusty.

In most games I am good at mainly mid- to long range combat. I would prefer something more versatile than a straight up sniper rifle. And I am also pretty adept at sneaking around the map and hitting the enemy from behind.

Any opinions would be appreciated. I don't want some souped up, specialized outfit, just something relatively easy to use for a newb.

I don't have the game, but I had Socom 3 where you could customize weapons. A really good one for someone new to the game would probably be something like an M16 combined with a long range scope. I used to kill a lot of people with that combo on Socom 3. Just sit back at a long range, and snipe people, but since it's a assault rifle, if someone gets close, you can shoot em' up too.

Edit: Also, ignore this if I'm wrong, but if there are "Laser Sights" in this game, equip it to your M16. What these do is make your gun more accurate. It can be pretty useful.

certain scopes are good compared to what you like looking through. i like the acog because it's not too strong but effective soo its all about the scope just try em all out in an unranked match. if you ever try going mid the rifles are your best bet. as a matter of fact if you join a clan you get an additional gun dependent on what country your clan is affiliated with
