Estimated system requirements |

The graphics looks soo shiny but i fear that my crappy comp wont be able to play it. Do you guys think that only a high end computer can play the game without lag? Discuss.

If it's anything like WarCraft III, then yeah, your computer will probably have to be fairly decent to play online without lag.

From the rumours going around, along with some of the screenshots, I'm going to say they are going to try and add a good bit more to this one. After all, one of the most highly anticipated games in almost a decade, I don't think they are going to spare much in the creation of this one.

According to the FAQ this game might feature certain DirectX 10 elements but they are aiming to create a game available to a wider audience. I think this one will be just a bit more demanding than Warcraft III (more units on screen).

I don't know. The unit detail doesn't really differ from the WC3 ones.

Yes but I've been left with the impression a lot more stuff will need to be rendered on screen in some situations. Much more than in WC3. It would be good if the requirements are the same like those of WC3, then I won't need to update anything on my computer to play SCII.

It certainly looks much better, it has a physics system, and a much more complex 3D terrain system. It also uses DX10, so I'd wager a bet that it's going to take a pretty good computer to get high settings, and you'll need Vista (or a Mac) for the highest.

Well Blizzard is known for making great games that don't require pimped up computer to play decently. Even WoW was built on a relatively weak engine.

I hope they don't make it a Vista only game. I much prefer Windows XP home over Vista and will not buy Vista unless I have to...As for DX10 Im sure it will come with the drivers. If you have a 256 meg AGP or PCIe then you should be fine, most of the Nvidia cards update well. I have a newer Nvidia. I think its the 6800, or the 6600 AGP 256 OC, made by BFG. As far as ram goes, 512 or a gig looks about right. We will find out when the bata comes out. Can't wait guys, 9 years of playing starcraft have finally paid off.
