Stats and Customization |
|
So how do you think the stat editing is going to be in Budokai Tenkaichi 3? It will probably the a more advanced version of the Potara system used in BT2. But I am not sure.
What are your guy's opinions, guesses or thoughts on the stat editing in BT3?

It better be better. Just as long as it's not BT1 with the annoying voices.

BT2's was alright, but I don't know how they would build off of that system, it was pretty complete. Maybe some extra slots or something?

I would guess adding more types of potaras. I don't know, something like "+20 this -10 that", or did they already have potaras like those? It's been a while since I played.

I think it should stay the same for the most part, just more support items and the ability to go past +20...

Yeah, it should be like B3 where the stat points would go up to 100 (or was it 99? Oh well, same difference). That way the customization would be much more... Well, just better.

Yeah, and if it runs like BT2, with all that health, it'll make the fights be absurdly long and epic...=D

From my run on BT2, it seems most people were confused by these potoras and didn't seem to know to use them properly. Is this system really that complicated?

No, not even. The potara system is very simple, yet affective.

I never used the customization option since I didn't understand it at first, then I just left it alone since it really wasn't important to me.
If in BT3 they do something that interests me in that area I might pay attention to it.

I've never been deeply traumatised by and of the potara or capsulse systems, in that they've nto had any detramental effects on the games. But I don't think any of the systems thus far have actually added anything. With the capsules in the early games you ended up with most of your roster just having their "breakthrough" capsule equipped, with the odd and very rare strategical exception. And then with the potara system you just end up having everyone as close to maxed out as the system will allow so all in all the difference equates to nothing... seems like a waste of time to me. I wouldn't miss anyo f these systems in the next game at all, customisation is nice, but there has to be some sort of driving force behind it, budokai games have always lacked any justification for their custom elements and i think they would function just as well with out them.

If anything they should add what was in Budokai3
Capsules, now Potaras, with a character's attack... It makes the game so more realistic Everything else was quite good in BT2, maybe some more yellow like potaras. They were good for developing more than one skill at a time. -------------------

Well my say on the topic is I think that the stats should be far more detailed. Like the type of power, strength, speed. That sort of thing.
