Hachi-Shiren: The 8 Ordeals

Clan Rules:

- No insulting other clans. It's plain rude.
- Naturally, try to keep on topic.
- Don't flame newbsies, or anyone for that matter.
- If you're being given advice, be thankful. Also, be prepared to put effort in.
- There can only be 8 members, really. But others can post in the thread for clan related stuff.
- PM me to join, and if you want include a team or at least your FC and a trainer sprite that follows the guidelines below. If you want help with a team like that, post in the thread.
- If you haven't got a team thought up yet, mention something about treacle tart in the PM, so I know you read the rules.

Rules for Clan Battles:

- Ubers are disallowed, and you are limited to two pokemon of a base total of 540+. Yup, Gyaravire takes up both slots. Note: Manaphy is an Uber, and Blissey is exempt from the limitation.
- Sleep, OHKO and Evasion clauses are in effect. One's just too gamebreaking, the others pure luck.
- Similarly, no luck orientated items. Focus Band, Scope Lens, Razor Claw/Fang, King's Rock and Brightpowder all fall under that category. Wide lens and focus Sash are fine.
- 6v6 Singles, at Level 100 is the staple.

A little about us:

This is a clan based on competetive teambuilding, in which the members can share experiences and develop strong teams, and in turn help newbies who come across the clan.
Also, once everyone's developed their team, we could then have a thread in the battles forum in which people could challenge the clan members.
Then from that, take in what works and what doesn't in the teams, and tweak them from that.

Our massive banner may be bare now, but once we have teams and members, it won't be for long.

Guidelines for building teams:

A team should have the following 3 pokémon: A starter, a core pokémon, a backup pokémon. The three remaining pokemon ought to support the others, particularly the core pokémon.

In other words, your team will be well thought-out and Synergetic.

The starter should be good at, well, starting. For example, Salamence, Gyarados, Tauros and Arcanine can all have Intimidate as their ability. This weakens the opponent's starter if it's physical (which many are). Forretress and Skarmory are all physically durable and can set up spikes and stealth rock right away, ruining focus sash users. Weavile and Aerodactyl are very fast, and can hit most common starters for super effective damage. Of course, these aren't the only useful starters.

The core pokémon should be your team's star, and supported by others to sweep and cripple other teams. For example, Agiligross is a powerful late game sweeper if his counters are out of the way (hi swampert), and should be supported by those that cover heas weakness (like Tangrowth, in this case).

The backup pokémon is basically the team's trump card. This guy's job is to finish the core's job, if he gets taken down. Whether this guy should supplement the core, do the same thing or work completely differently is up to you.

You don't have to have the team on joining, either.

- To offer series of teams for people out of the clan to challenge and battle, for fun and possibly prizes.
- To help people learn strengths and weaknesses in their teams from such battles.
