Judging!

I liked this round a lot. I liked all the different ideas, the creativity, and most of all, the pixels! I’ve seen lots of Pokemon, Legendary, Starters, Fire, Ice Rock, and more! Thanks for all the participation, guys! So, let’s start judging!

Hehe, this one makes me laugh. It’s not that it’s bad looking; it’s just that it looks like there’s a big bug on its nose. Perhaps if the nose was a little bit smaller, and the left eye wasn’t facing toward us, that would help the head area. The shading is similar to the regular pic, which, of course, is a good thing. But I don’t like it how the edges of the darker shading are all roundish instead of pointy. I really like it how you shading the outlining like a sprite. You basically put the darker shade right next to the outlines in some areas. There is an awkward whit spot nearby the chest that should be the darker shade, since its part of his leg. The spot on the forehead should be a little (really, a little) bit thinner. I like this, but the main problem is the facial expression.

Ah, this makes a lot better to judge because of its size. You did well on this round, Bond. There’s not much to say on it, but the eyes. The edges blend in much with the green skin. Maybe, if you had just kept that part white, it wouldn’t look so blended. Another thing (that isn’t so bad) is the second smallest dark spot on the forehead. It looks like it was cut off on the side. It’s a very nice sprite, bond.

Yes! Another sprite sized :3 It looks like its going to sneak out and skip judging >:3 The shading is good, but since there is shading on its face (highlights) and tail, having some on the back would do some good. Some of the shading on the tail is 2D. I like this pose, even though it’s hard to judge. The left ear is a little bended. That’s basically all the flaws. I like it.

Righteous! Three sprites in a row! This sprite is very cute, I like this choice indeed. Your main problem is the shading, fix that up, and it will be a whole lot better. The right leg looks 2D and plate-like. Some parts of the tail are jagged. The left eye looks like it’s facing North-East, while the right one looks like it facing South-East. The belly looks like it has a basket ball inside of it, so flatten it out a bit. The sprite is good, but the main goal is to fix up the shading.

Whoa! I didn’t see this coming. This is huge, but I still like it (; The first thing that caught my eyes, was the shading. It’s good, but in some places, there are three or four shades, but in other places, there’s only two. There is no shading on the eyes. The fire on his hand has three colors but the fire on his head has two. The tail’s outlining is a little jagged. On the hand, when the blue meets the brown, the separator is straight, and looks odd. I like the sprite. But the shading could be worked on.

Wow, I love this pixel over! This definitely wins my favorite. I love it how it blends in together, the shading, everything! The only thing I don’t like is the shadow of the nose (it looks to pointy) the highlight on the left hand (also to pointy) and the right hand (it looks like the light source is coming from the left, and not from the left-up if you know what I mean) But those are tiny flaws. I just love this pixel over!

This is a good sprite but there are some flaws. The first thing I saw was the pillow shading on the nails. I can se why you did that, but its looks awkward. Maybe if you re-shaded it regularly, it would look better. Another thing I saw was the outlining. Maybe if you shaded it like a sprite, it would look to thick. I don’t like it how you got rid on the white dot in the eye, it represented the shading more. The shading is off in some places (Bottom of chest and head) Good work no real major flaws.

Hmm, it’s good for a beginner, but your main big problem is the jagged lines, you should always have smooth lines. This puts your grade down a lot. Another thing is the shading. It’s really 2D and I don’t like it how you put an outlining in the wings darker shade. More shading needs to be done to the feet. Work on your shading and outlining, and you’ll improve a lot.
