i vote for Arefu i think its a little strange how Kybur said
quote Kybur
I’ve seen Arefu, it’s heavily fortified and well protected.
he also mentions Rivet city being the same way but Rivet is already fortified.

Holotape Entry #009
Things are finally picking up around here, not only did I get to end that traitorous ghoul AzureLao, I got to have some personal revenge on one of the Vault Legends, no idea if he was in any way responsible for Paradise Falls destruction but that didn't stop me from gutting him like a pig, can't wait to find out the real person behind the incident so I can really stick it to him, but I'll get plenty of practice on the way
Holotape Entry #010 We have to choose between Rivet City and Arefu, one of these locations holds the key to finding the vaults of the wasteland, from previous experience I know that Rivet City holds some interesting tech in the bow of the ship and can be turned into a nigh impregnable fortress with the right equipment, but would the VO pick such an obvious place to hold its most important data? its more likely to be in Arefu seeing as its a pretty out the way place that can also be easily defended due to its placement on the broken highway...

Alright, time's up.
Rivet City = 2 Arefu = 5 Undecided = 3
Spoiler: Arefu is...
~CORRECT~
Guys, the next story may be up a bit later than I expected. I apologize for any inconveniences, it's just... I'm dealing with a few unexpected events in reality. None that I really wish to discuss.

I'm sorry to hear that Kybur. Take as much time as you need to sort everything out. Real life is more important than a forum game.
Especially when there's a funeral or two to attend...
Anyway, thought I'd like to inform you all that my Birthday is in 3 days, on the 28th. I'll still be here by that time, just so you know. And, luckily, I might have a new scanner by then, so new pictures in the gallery for all to view.

Alright, sorry for the delay, boys. Here it is.
Spoiler: The Story...
Everyone gathered the remainder of their supplies and proceeded to the vertibirds, while the Remnants headed for the Beast Barges. They decided they would head for Arefu, hoping to find something of use from the VO Outpost. About an hour later, they touched down far away from the Outpost and stopped to examine the newly-armored settlement.
Arefu had become completely unrecognizable. Massive steel pillars were holding up the dismantled highway, with walkways and railings connected between them. Massive structures covered the top of the highway and around it, giving it the appearance of a small city. The most striking feature was a massive satellite towering over the entire outpost, leaving everyone staring in awe. Teacher looked up at the massive structure, “That… wasn’t there when I saw this place.”
Everyone ducked behind the rocks while Vincent surveyed the area and attempted to conduct a plan. He looked back at everyone else, “Alright, that satellite obviously means this place is what we’re looking for. We need to have someone perform a distraction far away from here so we can sneak up the highway and infiltrate the area.” Kybur looked at Vincent, “Distraction? Heh, that won’t be an issue. The Remnants and I will start an assault past the structure and draw their attention, which should clear up the highway for Sanctum to run up and break into the main building.” Everyone agreed to the plan and gathered their supplies, waiting for the proper time to strike.
About 20 minutes later, the plan commenced. The Remnants began firing at the structures from below the highway, drawing the attention of the vault soldiers to travel down the structure and begin firing at the Remnants. Sanctum immediately began running up the highway while the soldiers were distracted. With no guards around the buildings, it was easy to make their way up. Once they were at the top, they proceeded to the main building. Vincent attempted to open the door, only to uncover that it was locked from the inside. He sighed and looked back at Shave, “You mind taking care of this?” Shave nodded and aimed his grenade launcher at the door. One explosion later, they were inside.
Several soldiers were inside the building, sitting at a table across the room. One of them noticed the group and pulled out a .44 magnum, then began firing alongside the other vault soldiers. Everyone backed out of the building. Vincent nodded towards Shave, who nodded back and aimed his grenade launcher at an opening inside the door. He fired, and saw the grenade bounce off the wall and into the center of the room. 3 seconds later, the soldiers were blown to bits. Everyone proceeded inside and investigated the complex. Oscar stayed downstairs while Tango went upstairs to keep searching.
Vincent noticed a computer terminal at a desk on the far side of the room. He walked over and activated it. The terminal began flickering in a variety of lights, until several data files appeared onscreen. Vincent looked through the files. “Battle Plans, Profiles, History… Vault Locations!” Vincent turned towards Shave, “Shave, download these files so we can get the hell out of here.”
Shave took about 5 minutes to download everything until Vincent heard a sound from behind a door, on the other side of the room. He walked over and opened the door to see a young, brown-haired boy banging on the door. He looked up at Vincent and then backed up, falling down at the side of the door. The boy’s head was wrapped in bandages, covering his left eye with blood staining it. He was wearing a tattered mix of clothing, leaving only his head and hands revealed. Alex walked over to the room, “Vincent, what’s-“ He looked down at the boy, his mind beginning to sound with a phrase from his past life.
“Just like you, eh?” echoed a raider’s voice in Alex’s head. He looked down at the boy, “… I know you…” The boy looked up at Alex. “The baby… The one whose parents were killed by them… The raiders…” The boy nodded and stood up. Alex shook his head and looked at Vincent. “We need to take him with us.” Vincent stared at Alex for a moment, then nodded quickly. The boy turned towards Alex and began following him. Everyone headed outside the building and ran down the highway until they noticed a group of at least 50 soldiers blocking their path at the bottom.
Everyone ducked behind the sandbag barricades while Alex and the boy hid behind the wall of a building. Several moments from Alex’s past life began flashing past his eyes as he readied his Gauss Rifle. He took a deep breath and sighed, then ran from cover. He aimed his Gauss Rifle and began picking off the soldiers until he was close enough to unsheathe his Phoenix Blade. He ran down the highway and began slashing his way through the soldiers until only 5 were left. Alex picked up a 10mm Pistol from a dead soldier’s hand and aimed it at the soldiers as they ran down the highway. One by one, he shot them down without wasting a single bullet.
Kybur contacted Shave on his built-in intercom, “Guys? You’ll all want to head down the highway soon.” Vincent looked back at Shave as he said, “Why?” Kybur continued, “We placed a few explosive charges on the pillars below the highway. We’re gonna bury this place and all the other soldiers with the structures below it.” Vincent nodded, “Sounds like a plan.” He turned towards everyone, “Alright, this place is going down in 5 minutes! Everyone move!”
Everyone darted down the highway until they reached a safe position back at the vertibirds as Kybur and the other Remnants approached them. Kybur handed the detonator to the charges to Vincent, “Care to do the honors?” Vincent took the detonator and pressed the flashing crimson button. Everyone looked at the underside of the outpost to see several massive explosions envelope the pillars below. Millions of bits of steel flew out from under the highway as it began to crumble. Minutes later, the VO Outpost was replaced with a massive cloud of smoke and flames.
After everyone took an hour to gather themselves from the assault, Vincent called in a vertibird to take the boy back to the Safe Grounds. Alex looked down at the boy and patted his head. He smiled as he said to him, “Take care.” The boy smiled at him and walked towards the vertibird. He waved goodbye as Alex watched the vertibird fly off. He sighed and stared at the sky for a moment, then went back to the area where everyone else was.
Vincent looked around, “Alright, Shave has downloaded the VO’s data files into his head, so we’ll have no trouble finding all the vaults. I went over the data on the terminal, and I’ve seen that we have two options for our next location. Both locations have a vault built under them, so we’ll have to be ready for anything once we arrive.” Vincent turned towards Shave, who continued for him, “Our best options are Hamilton’s Hideaway and Meresti Trainyard. There are vaults located beneath both those areas.” Vincent turned towards everyone, “Alright, you have your options. Dismissed.”

re: [Game] DEAD END III ~ Closed due to a personal dilemma. I'm sorry, guys.
Sorry for not posting a while but ive been having "problems". but i vote for Hamilton's Hideaway i dont think that there will be much in meresti trainyard as hamiltons is closer to arefu i think
well, we got in and out of arefu allright, now weve gotta chose between heading over to hamiltons hideaway or the trainyard nearby, well ive met vance and his "family" and they dont seem the type to go down without a fight, i reckon that if the VO sprung up out from underground they would be cut to pices, that gang knows those old tunnels like i know the back of my hand, the VO wouldent stand a chance, i say we head over to Hamilton's Hideaway its probably where the VO took over Arefu from anywhay, besides i think i remember stashing some ammo under the warf once, wonder if its still there...
