re: [Game] DEAD END III ~ Closed due to a personal dilemma. I'm sorry, guys.
Alright, boys, here we are. The first story.
Spoiler: Prologue
It was a blistering hot day, as usual, in the Capital Wasteland. The beating waves of the sun loomed over a mass of buildings in the middle of nowhere. The Safe Grounds, the main HQ of the Help Against Vault-Tec Enforcing Natives, or H.A.V.E.N. for short, was bustling with soldier activity. Men and women, humans and mutants, ravaged the field of the center of the facility. Many of them remained topside, on duty, while the rest were underground in the enormous complex that housed lounges and bars for the soldiers’ daily activities.
In the bar, soldiers were treating themselves to mass gallons of alcohol, whiskey, and every other type of drink you can think of. One soldier in particular, an unshaven man in a blue-grey longcoat and plenty of other mismatched clothing, was set upon a barstool, sipping a pint of beer. He finished drinking the remainder of what was in the glass, then set it upon the counter and looked up at the lights on the ceiling. He looked back at the bartender and waved his hand. “Barkeep,” he said, catching the bartender’s attention. He spoke up, “Another beer, please.” After he received his drink, a H.A.V.E.N. general walked into the bar. He walked over to the man. “Casey,” he said. The man, named Casey “Trader” Romain, looked up. “you’re wanted at the debriefing station. Grab you’re equipment and meet the others there.” Casey looked down, then back up at the general. “Just let me finish my drink first, alright?”
In another area of the complex, the “Hanson Armory”, a rugged soldier sat down at the back table, with several flamers and assault rifles set upon it. His unique flamer, which he called “Hellburst”, sat beside his arm. He tweaked away at the weapons on the table, disassembling them and repairing them all from the spare parts of the boxes beside him on the floor. It was his own personal job to keep all newly acquired weapons in perfect shape in order to be stocked for purchase, and he enjoyed it very much. He took the cigarette from his mouth and held an assault rifle up in front of his face, examining the ammunition cartridge for any damage. He lowered it, and instantly noticed a H.A.V.E.N. general walking over to him. The general looked down at him and spoke clearly, “Sanctum’s needed at the debriefing station. Pack everything up and move out, Nathaniel.” The general immediately left. Nathaniel put his cigarette in his mouth, took a breath, and then exhaled a puff of smoke. He looked down and shook his head, then sighed, saying, “Shit…”
Downstairs at the Firing Range, soldiers were practicing their shots with firearms of all types. Three soldiers in particular remained there. One clad in regular clothing and a black leather jacket, with a shark printed on the back, was practicing with a 10mm pistol. Another soldier in the next station down, an African-American wearing a modified suit and sporting an eye patch, was practicing with his custom .44 Magnum. Behind them, a soldier wearing a merc grunt outfit with several tears running through it was sitting down with a minigun and a super-sledge on both his sides, set upon the chairs beside him. He looked around frantically until he, along with the other two soldiers, noticed a general walk inside through the side door. He announced to all of them, “Stilson, Derek, and Sutton. You’re all needed at the debriefing station. Pack your equipment and meet us there.” They all nodded as the general walked out the door. Suttonboy turned to his weapons. “Splat, Hilda… I think we’re going on a mission… a big one…”
Topside, two soldiers and their commander were stationed on the roof of a building. One soldier and the commander were both carrying sniper rifles, while the last one was carrying a Scoped Gauss Rifle. They were all practicing their headshots by firing off rounds at bloatflies, deathclaws, and the occasional raider. The commander was tallying up scores as they all shot rounds. A general walked up behind them and said, “Mason, MastaC…” At that moment, they all turned around and aimed their snipers at the general, then immediately lowered them when they noticed who it was. The general backed up a bit, then continued, “You’re both needed at the debriefing station. Pack all your equipment and head over there.” They both nodded and left the roof. The general turned towards the commander. “Abernathy, come with me. You’re needed elsewhere.”
Over at the clinic, two soldiers were in the waiting room. A ghoul wearing a trench coat and fedora was stocking up on medical supplies at the counter, while a muscled soldier wielding a combat shotgun modified into a grenade launcher and wearing a merc troublemaker outfit with black clothing, was sitting over at the lounge. A general walked inside, and looked at the two soldiers. He announced, “AzureLao, Shave, you’re both needed at the debriefing station. Get everything packed up and move out.” The general walked out the door, and AzureLao walked out after him. Shave picked up his grenade launcher and stood up from the chair, walking over to the counter and picking up a bottle of purified water. He took a quick drink as he walked out the door.
An hour later, all 9 members of Sanctum were gathered inside the debriefing station. They were all seated at different chairs, waiting for their general to arrive. Methian looked over at a nearby table, seeing a pack of cigarettes lying on the side. He snatched them and stowed them away in his pocket before anyone could notice. Moments later, the General walked inside. Behind him was an old man that a few members of Sanctum remembered. It was RIP, the old-as-hell stealth soldier of H.A.V.E.N.. And, behind him, was none other than Vincent. Methian looked up at him and announced, “Hey, General.” Vincent looked over at him, “I’m afraid I’m not your General, anymore.” Everyone besides the General and RIP looked at him and surprise and said, “Huh?”
The General looked at the group. “That’s right. Vincent, here, decided his place in life wasn’t behind some desk filing papers and giving orders. He “purposely” busted himself down a few ranks until he returned to the same rank of all of you.” Methian looked at him, “So that means…” Vincent finished for him, “Yes, that’s right. I’m a part of Sanctum, now.” The group stood up and congratulated him. They all sat back down, and Vincent took a seat beside Methian.
The General stepped over to a table with a map of the Capital Wasteland on it. He spoke loudly, “Alright, soldiers. It’s been five years since the events that occurred with the Vault Organization. They’ve suffered many casualties, but they haven’t been dealt with completely. And now, they’ve decided to step their plans forward. They’ve proceeded with the Cleansing.”
The group continued to listen to him. “We’re sending you out on a mission. The Vault Organization has begun attacking and raiding settlements, claiming them as their own. It’s your job to find these settlements, kill any and all vault soldiers, and acquire any information you find on the VO. We’ve contacted the Remnants, and they told us they’ll have some reinforcements ready for you at the location you head to first.” Derek Vader sighed and said quietly, “Ah, shit, not this again…” Methian looked at the General, “Sir, what about Kybur? Where’s he?” The General looked at Methian. “Kybur… Kybur decided to leave H.A.V.E.N. after the… final events…” The group looked down in memory and grief of their old comrade. “He’s still alive, but he’s joined back up with the Remnants. From what we know, he’ll be waiting for you along with the reinforcements.” Casey spoke up, “What about Pasha?” The General replied, “We don’t know where he left for. Probably out wandering the Wastes, again. Maybe he’s still on that trade route business, I don’t know.”
The General continued on with his original speech, “Alright, enough about past times. We’ve determined a few locations you can start with. We’ve decided to let you choose your first plan of action.” The group looked over at the map as the General pointed to the upper northeastern areas of the map. “Alright, from what we’ve gathered, these two locations are the best areas for you to start…”
Oasis or Old Olney

Question: Are you gonna do anything with the Whiskey and Delta thing from the last game?
Audio Recording #1 Subject: Same Old Shit, Brand New Name
'And so it begins. The old team is back together, along with some new faces. Sad to hear that Kybur's gone. Damn good soldier. But... I'm not surprised after... *sigh*
It's been five years and old RIP's still ticking. Nothing can bring that guy down. Seriously, plant a mine in his toilet, he won't go for days. Vincent is joining us this time around. Shocked everyone. I'd trade all of this for a desk job, but I'm gonna stay around for a while longer. Still gotta make amends. I'm still surprised they let me handle the weapons.
*cough* Gaaah... Cigarettes are gonna kill me but dammit it all if withdrawal is worse. I can actually FEEL myself get stupid. Weird, eh?
Looks like that ol' Democracy shit is back in effect. Back in my day, things were easy. 'Go here, kill that, run away.' Feh. Still, we need SOME order around these parts. New Canada was pretty well put together. Buncha shady stuff behind the scenes but the people were happy and no one killed each other.
Pick a place, eh? It's really tough, man. Oasis, from what I've heard, is full of nuts that worship a talking TREE! They have a pretty tight set up in the hills inside some rocks. Good defenses and hard as *bleep* to find. They may help us as long as we leave em out of the whole thing.
Old Olney. Jesus, Old Olney. It was probably a decent enough town back in the day. Nothing but traps and 'Claws everywhere. It's all out in the open, except for the sewer system. But it's full of 'Claws. Our reinforcements wouldn't dare step into that place and neither would the VO.
My final vote? Oasis. Seems to be the best choice.
I've thrown my hat into the pool. I'm heading to the armoury to work on the rest of those rifles. A few of em need to be completely over-hauled.

Holotape #1
after discussing it with hilda and splat we think that its best to go for OASIS. Old Olneys suppost to me a deathclaw infeested shit-hole anyway. still don't trust no-one here, so many new faces...So Many...

Audio Journal #01
Well, this is my first outing as a H.A.V.E.N. soldier. Guess it can't be as bad as anything else in the wasteland. Stocked up on medpacks just in case, though.
Intel apparently said that our targets were either in Oasis or Old Olney.
I've been to Old Olney a few times. Horrid place full of Deathclaws. If anything DID go in there, I don't think it'd survive for long, so I'm going to have to go with Oasis
re: [Game] DEAD END III ~ Closed due to a personal dilemma. I'm sorry, guys.
Journal entry # 1
I decided to write a journal after reading some of the original sanctum member’s journals.
Well here it goes; here I am sitting at the same old desk that I’ve been at for the past five years. When I think back over my time at H.A.V.E.N. I realized I no longer have that feeling. That feeling that you’re awake and alive. I feel like I’ve been asleep this whole time, is just sign this… sign that, nothing felt real anymore. The most exciting thing that happened was when I punched out my CO for commenting poorly on my leader ship of Sanctum, and I had to spend two days in a cell. And then there was my late night Sniping competitions with Rip, even though he all was beet me.
I fingered I should learn as much as I can from him, but it was wired referring to him as Abernathy for these past years. He told me is name is Rip only on the battle field cause theirs no telling when he was going to die, ether from the enemy or old age. So I guess the name Rip really did suit him. Rip taught me a lot about the poetry of a sniper which is way my rifle is now my weapon of choice and im looking forward to creating a few masterpieces of my own.
So we have a choice Old Olney or the Oasis it funny, I’ve been giving out orders for so long now it is time to make a choice for myself. I choose The Oasis, and I don’t care if the VO has occupied the area. I have never seen a tree that hadn’t been burnt to shit. I know making a live threatening decision based on the fact that I have never seen a tree is reckless. But after I demoted myself down to a soldier I mite as well enjoy it while it lasts.
So now after coming back to my office to get my personal affects and writing this entry, I realize I don’t want anything from this office that will just remind me of my time here. Besides if I had to sit though another meeting where the CO’s and higher up’s mark our lost soldiers as statistics I have to shoot myself. Too many soldiers have died under my command if H.A.V.E.N. needed more blood it would be mine…

9th Jul 2296, Capital Wasteland - H.A.V.E.N. Headquarters
i followed up the lead i got from that kid at the Muddy Rudder, Butch i think his name was, anyway he said that he saw a Giant Russian with a sword plug a guy wearing a vault jumpsuit about five years ago and that had to be Pasha. he also said that he was rolling with a new crew called H.A.V.E.N. as part of a special team called Sanctum. I managed to find out more about this outfit and they seem like they are all right and i don't think they have anything to do with Pasha's disappearance. I have always believed in fighting for that Cause and the 'Good Fight' so i decided that i would sign on with them and see what good i could do. Allthough I still think that I'm going keep an eye out for any traces of Pasha.

Well I've had a stroke of good luck, after a few runs into the DC area i was approached by what i presumed to be some sort of head honcho of the outfit and told that i would be assigned to an elite team known as Sanctum and that is the team Pasha was assigned to! With any luck i might find Pasha sooner rather than later.

I was sitting at the bar down in the canteen today when i was approached by the top and told to head down the the briefing room. well i found out that Pasha must have left H.A.V.E.N. all together but i just wonder why? i mean they look after you here, its a neat little unit and we get plenty of action, just like the Texas Light, anyway when this is all over I'l keep looking for him. it seemed like most of these guys know each other and it looks like Vincent was one of the tops in this outfit a while ago. well we have to head to either Oasis or Old Olney Sewers, well I'm not really a fan of getting cut up by a deathclaw whilst I'm hip deep in s**t and besides I'm sure that some of those green plants would fetch a fine price in the wastes and hell i might even run into some of the desert rangers, they always seem to gravitate to places like that but i wont get my hopes up, it would just be good to see a familiar face. i say we head over to Oasis

Holotape: I love this place, good sniper spot, plenty of booze, and a bed to sleep in. Too bad that we gotta go. well, I guess the VO won't kill themselves.
We gotta go to either Oasis or Old Olney, and as much as I love shooting Deathclaws, and as much as I hate tight spaces, I gotta go with Oasis. From all of my experience working with them, I know how much they hate mutants. Seems like all of my targets were mutants, cept for that time they told me to take out Sanctum. good thing I forgot to load my sniper. At least that's what I told them. That talkin tree would be a VO magnet.
I just hope these guys would forgive me for working with the VO.

re: [Game] DEAD END III ~ Closed due to a personal dilemma. I'm sorry, guys.
Alright, boys, the second story. Here you are:
Spoiler: The Story...
After about 30 minutes of discussing battle plans, Sanctum decided their first location would be Oasis. They confirmed their choice with the General, then gathered their supplies and headed outside. From there, they walked towards the main gate of the Safe Grounds, and spotted two vertibirds waiting to transfer them to their location. Once they were all onboard, they took off for Oasis. On the way, Vincent contacted the Undercroft of the Remnants and told them their first location would be Oasis. What he got for an answer was a few ghoul-like hisses and grunts. A sound of a punch was heard over the communicator, and then another mutant started talking with a familiar voice. “Roger that, Sanctum. We’ll be waiting for you there. Good luck.” The communicator dropped out before anyone could ask who it was. AzureLao spoke up, “That almost sounded like… Kybur…”
Once they neared Oasis, they noticed a group of mutants gathered at the entrance. One, in particular, was sporting a tattered brown outfit with bronze armor plating and wielding an auto axe. Once the two vertibirds landed, they all got out and headed towards the group, except for Derek Vader. Vincent looked back, “Derek, you coming?” Derek answered, “Nah thanks, man, I don’t do well with mutants. Especially those Remnant guys, they’re seriously *bleep*ed up.” Suttonboy walked over and sat on the edge of the vertibird that Derek Vader was leaning against. He spoke quietly, “I’m staying, too. Splat and Hilda don’t like mutants… and neither do I…” Vincent sighed and turned to both of them. “Alright, you two stay here while we go check the situation.” They both nodded in agreement and watched as the others took off for the entrance.
On their way up, they heard an enormous explosion come from across the Wasteland. They turned in the direction of Old Olney to witness a mushroom cloud rising from the ground. The radiation was too far to affect them, but the gust of wind still hit them slightly a minute after the explosion. Alex spoke out, “Good thing we didn’t go there…”
They arrived at the entrance, and looked to see the Remnant they noticed earlier. They recognized his insane white hair and orange-lensed goggles anywhere. Kybur looked at them all, “Well… good to see you boys again. Some new faces, few old ones, eh?” Vincent shook Kybur’s hand. “It’s good to see you again, Roy.” Kybur looked at him, “Yeah. Five years hasn’t changed much of us, has it? By the way, what was the deal with that explosion over Old Olney a few minutes ago?” Vincent replied, “Probably nothing we should concern ourselves with. What’s the situation?”
Kybur looked at the entrance to Oasis, then back at Vincent. “Something strange is going on. One of our soldiers tried to enter the area, but his head exploded. Literally. We were able to drag him out of there, but we didn’t know how it happened. Our main scientist, Labcoat, figured it had something to do with a “killing noise”. There’s a strange noise being emitted in there. He said it sounded like a high-pitched whine, or something. Makes your head explode, as far as we can tell. It's pretty obvious that everyone inside is already dead, including Harold.”
Vincent looked at the other Remnants, then asked Kybur, “Where’s this scientist of yours? Labcoat was his name?” At that moment, an incredibly tall, incredibly thin ghoul walked over to the group. He was wearing a torn up, tattered lab coat along with a pair of pants torn up at the ankles, revealing his feet. His body was badly mutated, leaving only his spine to hold up his body with twisted flesh hanging down it. He wore a pair of clear-lensed goggles, and his right arm was a robotic appendage that most of his mutated flesh was growing over. Labcoat spoke in a strange, computerized voice, “This white noise is very confusing to research. I’m afraid we aren’t capable of understanding it until we figure out where it originated.”
Kybur turned to Vincent, “From what we know, the noise either originated from Vault 92 or Agatha’s House. We’ll stay here and continue researching what we can on this “white noise” while you guys investigate.” Vincent nodded in agreement, then they all went back to the vertibirds. Once Derek and Suttonboy joined them, Vincent looked at all of them, saying, “Alright, guys. We have a choice between Vault 92 and Agatha’s House. Wherever we go, I think it’s time we split up into two teams. 5 of us will be Team Oscar, and the other 5 will be Team Tango. Let’s take some time to get organized so we know which team everyone will be assigned to, along with our votes…”
Spoiler:IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
Along with your next votes, I would like you all to vote which team you would like to be on. Team Oscar will be more serious and straightforward, while Team Tango will be more unpredictable and destructive.

re: [Game] DEAD END III ~ Closed due to a personal dilemma. I'm sorry, guys.
Well before the spots are filled i want to be on Tango. I'll post my vote later.
*Edit* If my memory serves me right Kybur said that every thing had carried over from the last game and in the last game VL35 killed Agatha. so even though the VO has used Agatha's radio tower before i doubt they would use it again so i vote for Vault 92.
Here's my math for my choice. Agatha's + Five year old corpse = Bad taste in I'm my mouth Vault + 92 = Vault Legend
