Has anyone figured how to get out?

My room in Megaton. I went to sleep in my bed and he followed me in there. When I woke up to try and get out, he is standing right there. The room is too small for me to move him out of the way. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so, how did they get out? I've tried talking to him to distance himself from me and that doesn't work. I don't want to fire him to get out of my room

you have to fire him.

just fire him, wait til he walks out and then follow him and re-hire

Even if you fire him you still can't get out, you need to either kill Fawkes or reload to an earlier save.

I'm pretty sure he will leave the room. He can clearly walk through the door in the first place, he can do it again when he is leaving after being fired.

If you go into your room with Fawkes most of the time your robot butler will be behind Fawkes, and if you fire him he still can't get out because the butler is in the way.

Also for some people Fawkes simply won't move even if fired.

He won't move when you walk into him? That's ood. I haven't had the problem before. Have you tried talking to him about his tactics? Try telling him to stand a different distance from you. That might help...
Firing him is the only other thing that I can think of...if he still doesn't seem to move, try "waiting/sleeping" and see if he's still there when you're done. He goes to Underworld when he's fired, and you can just rehire him there, once he gets there. You'll get a little message saying he arrived there, I think.
