is there anyway in create tournament to select which teams go into which group..so we can re-create particular cups...eg euro 08 world cup or champions league

go to tournament then you get the option to create a tournament-im pretty sure you can recreate any tournament you like

yes u can create euro 08 and the champions league in the create a tournament option.U have to choose the option to select ur own teams and then select the qualified teams

I think you can make a tournament where you face every group team twice. I don't think there is a way to specify which teams play against each other in the groups though.

i mean i know u can select all the euro teams...but actually getting them in the correct groups...all i can do is randomise...which will take 200000 hours to get it perfect

There must be a way EA base it. There are definitely combinations they use. Check it out. It could be random but i doubt it.

Could you just pick each team in order, such as pick the four teams from group a first, then the four in group 2... and keep on going.

It could work but i doubt it will be that simple. And when you select a team i think it goes into alphabetical order. It could still work though.

It does work, I have just tried it.

I've managed to re-create the entire tournament, more or less, perfectly. When it asks you about auto Fill or something, select custom so that you can choose the teams. Then after a while after you've selected international and 16 teams and so forth, you'll get a list of 16 teams, press triangle to replace the ones you don't want in there.
When you've got the groups you can press triangle again to assign which team goes where. You'll have one group selected, which you can change with r1 and l1, and three other groups to choose from, so you can get the teams in the right places.
And you can also set it so you play 1 match against each team in your group.

That's pretty cool.
