Holy shit online play with nhl 08 is intense (for me, anyway ). I hate that all it is is *bleep*ing checking though. I just played a 2 on 1 (two humans controlling the other team) with the Wings against the *bleep*ing Eastern all stars (with crosby and ovechkin) and STILL come off 3-4 (though it was a loss). I really dominate the defense with my masterful pokechecks (), except I make stupid defensive mistakes and what not. One goal came off when I was behind my net, meant to pass off to the right, but somehow it goes to the front and I gave it to an opposing player and they scored. =/ If I can just stop with the stupid mistakes I should be able to do much better.

My offense is pretty good as well, I usually do well on the forecheck and get good shots off.


So anyone else play online much? My tag is ArmedRebel3, add me and we can play.

My record online is like 15-10-2 or something like that. I usually play well. I've never gotten blown out but I have blown out one or two kids. According to my stats I win my games by about 2 goals. I try to cycle down low and open something infront or I come around the circle and snipe.

There was one game where I lost 5-2. I had 25 shots and the other guy had 8 shots. No joke. The guy was *bleep*ing amazing at aiming. The first play he takes a shot from the blue line and scores. I figured lucky shot. By the end of the first period he had 3 goals on 4 shots. I played better defense the rest of the game (allowing two goals on fours shots:confused:). but I couldn't score enough.

The most challenging game I played was my second game and I lost 3-2. The guy was a great sport and didn't "cheese' at all. Halfway into the first period we got the glitch where it constantly goes back and forth between face-offs. We both got on the mics complain how stupid this problem was. Eventually it worked and we ended up chatting the rest of the game. He was a great sport and was a good guy to talk to.

On the other hand, I have faced a bunch of fags. Some people get like 2 goals from the same spot where they shoot it from a certain angle making it so it will bounce of the goalie and possibly go in. I have gotten messages after a game i won saying I suck. I have gotten messages after a loss saying I suck. My online experience with other players has been mixed - good and bad. However, the gameplay is amazing.

Oh man..I just played a great game. Scoreless until the third, he scored shorthanded on me () but then I came back to 1-1. With <10 seconds left in the third I had a breakaway I should have scored, but I redeemed myself with a OT goal 15 seconds in. Guess who scored it? (I'm playing with the wings, by the way).



Winning faceoffs really helps to win the games.

Plus, before that I was blowing out someone 5-1 and in the third he disconnected himself. =/ (No lag at all in the game)

I hate people who's only real skill in the game is hitting and dekeing like an idiot, and suck basically everywhere else. I just played a guy to tin 4-3 who all he could really do defensively is hit and when I got set up in the zone and got out of the way of his players I basically destroyed him. Granted he did get three goals off me, but again I make shit defensive mistakes. He had double the shots and more offensive time (but I still win on the face-offs) but I still won.


Do you know if people with 360's can play with people with PS3s? Or whatever other combination you might have?
