Did it flop? |

What is your opinion about the game?
I felt the Story was short and rushed, and multiplayer is not that exciting. Gameplay is great, and defintly has that Ace combat feel, overall a good game, but online could have been so much more ------------------- ![]() Good night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers

it's not too bad. i don't feel like i wasted my money. i enjoyed the campaign, although i found the cut-scenes & dialogue to be a lil' (very) corny. online is fun when i'm in the mood.

I really thought we had broken new ground with the number of planes in ACZERO, to the point were just trying out all the planes was a game in its self. And the earning experience to get different models added so much to the replay value. And they threw that all away, now we have less planes than Air Combat. Huge disappointment. I'm not really an SU fan but we have always had the su37 and recently gotten the su35 (I saw no difference) and now its the SU33 still looks and feels the same, whats with that. The Su37 had one of the biggest fan bases in the AC franchise second on neoseeker only to the f-14 (I got beat up by them allot:D memories) It also seems pointless to have the same level up little dot things in this game if there is no level up.
Cut scenes I hate cut scenes, not because I don't like the break in game play or the story (cheesy as they may be)but the AC team can not 3d animate to keep up with the times. When you have Airplanes that rival real pictures in level of detail and then have cut scenes with poorly rendered people, horible expressions, no detail on the ground (on top of being cheesy) it just sucks and detracts from the games awesomeness. AC4 did it right just painted pictures. They were beautiful told the story and didn't detract. I remember crying the first time I played AC4. I can't help being appauled by later titles. Other than that and the retake gracmeria level looks exactly like the other port retaking level, I really liked the game. I would buy and enjoy any AC game where I can sit down and look at a TV (shame on you PSP) I love all the new weapons the increased power in the machine gun. I imagine I will love the online modes later but I really liked the game. But you are right after I got everything and there were no more achievements to unlock I hav't picked up the controler since. ------------------- And remember on a scale from one to awsome, I'm super great. I too am one of those who feel it was worth the money for the game and the 360 to play it on. As far as gameplay goes it is just pure awesome. The story did feel rushed as well as the campaign itself. No dates to the start of times of day, nothing like we had before. The CGI animation is fairly okay but it could've been much better on the part of the characters. It would've helped for it to have had a little better intro cut scene before the first mission, but overall its fair.
As for any online experience nothing yet that I can say for I haven't got myself hooked up yet.I am looking forward to trying out and playing with those I know. And yes I am one of those as well a bit disapointed with the aircraft line-up. Though the selection isn't bad either it still would've been nice to have had the other favorites in there too. The aircraft and the cockpit views are outstanding. I love now how we can see working instruments and the return of the return-line and the in battle airfiled landings. I also like that in Free Flight there are a number of stationary objects you can blow up and destroy, that's something I had hoped for and use as means to train myself with some of the un-guide A2G weapons. I also like on those missions where you take-off they at least allow you to do in FF as well, just too bad you could land and take-off repeatedly as I had hope for as well. Another thing that I really love is that when you destroy an enemy warship it list and slowly sinks, plus things remain burning or smoking..another thing I had hoped namco would do since following AC4. Also if you take a good look at the map for San Loma and compare it with San Diego, it seems the devs used it and modified it for San Loma. You can make out North Island NAS as well San Diego International airport, just check out Google Earth and see for yourseleves. Even the Point Loma lighthouse is there as you enter the bay where the allied fleet is, lots of neat stuff. Bottom-line for me its still Ace Combat and still tons of fun to play. And yes it can get very frustrating and annoying at times going against Pasternak in his CFA-44 or getting torn to shreds at Chandilier, but its still all good.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention how cool the smoke effects were. And the way the levels play out helping different battalions is pretty cool.
