That reminds me... Is there a particular reason for the S-32 (SU47 prototype) in AC5 stalling so abruptly when its speed drops too low? That plane had a great paint scheme (sp).

Are you sure? It's the plane which is just like the SU47 except the thrusters are different, and have vectoring capabilities I think. It also features the forward swept wings.

Hands down, no BS the SU-47 Berkut. It has got to be one of the sexiest birds in the sky. I have a few lovely backgrounds of this plane. But, unfortunately it will likely not lead to a production aircraft in the same design. But technology from the SU-47 will be built into the PAK FA. Most likely aero-elastic tailoring experience gained from the wing. Sukhoi was denied the funding to build a second prototype. My guess for denied funds was it was better to upgrade the current Flanker fleet and producing the SU-34 Fighter-bomber. But, the Berkut has lasted longer in the testing phase than the SU-37 and MIG 1.44, both of which have been canceled.

quote EvilWingZeroHmm does make sense..however a prototype of MIG-1.44 did exist..that cutie is probably used as a testbed for Russian Plasma Stealth technology Su-37's fate well i don't know whether any of them remains ..well probably they've been converted into Su-35 and Sukhoi also produce new Sukhoi aircraft Called Su-35BM an improved Su-35 ------------------- ![]()

re: Favorite aircraft |

One of the SU-37s crashed the other one was retrograded to SU-35 standard. Not much of a downgrade, all they did was just pull the thrust-vectoring engines out of it. I have seen videos of Flankers performing feats of mobility that I did not think aerodynamically possible. I've seen a nose-up hover, controlled flat-spin and of course Victor pugachevs kulbit maneuver, an aerial somersault. The craziest thing I've seen yet is a maneuver called a "super cobra", a double mid-air flip. If any aircraft in the world can take on western fighter in the dog-fight, it will in all likely be a Russian Flanker. I also hold the dogfighter in much higher esteem than the guy who is launching missiles from 50-60 miles away. All he has to do is just lock-launch, realign, lock-launch visa-versa. Not much skill required if you ask me.

couple things, if you continue to post here, JOIN NOW DAMMIT, we need more members. lol
and back on topic, if you are reffering to a video game, then yes no skill, in real life, screw that I'll hang back. but I doubt we will ever see a su, vs a F-whatever, in real life, if we did, usa would most likely win as russia doesn't have enough moeny to mass produce like we do. but the SUs are sexy birds. now im outnumbered, 2 SU fanatics on 1 western fanatic. ------------------- ![]() Good night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers

re: Favorite aircraft |
quote EvilWingZeroi'm on you with that..unfortunately nowadays engagement will likely based on Beyond Visual Range, USA with AIM-120D while Russia with RVV-AE-PD or R-77M1 and K-100 Missiles that capable to strike enemy from 400km away and Europeans with MBDA meteor However if the guy who like using Missiles from about 60-70Nm faced Su-35BM his Missiles would probably being evaded or even engaged by Su-35's RVV-AE Missile that capable of destroy AMRAAM and even precision guided munitions like JDAM or Paveways Su-35BM's irbis N035 Radar or Irbis-E may detect 3 square meter RCS around 200Km..however for target like F-22 it would drop to somewhere along 90Km or less depend on the Stealth's position and here's EADS view about Stealth ![]() stealth won't work against advanced Electro Optical censor....like the one fielded in Su-35BM,MIG-35 and EF-2000 ------------------- ![]()

those manuvers you are refering to, xeno knows their exact names, but the nose up hover is a cobra manuver, the Fa-22 can acomplish this as well, the backflip thing. I think xeno said that was the chakra, or somthing ------------------- ![]() Good night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers
