technically, the official line is when someone bids, that is the beginning.

BUT

if you just say "where's that player i wanted" it will not start, you must bid.

and anyone else from the weekend may be re-auctioned (cos in fairness, there was no auction starting posts by me), but only if other people are serious about bidding for them. i dont see the point in arguing if no-one else wants them. perhaps a shortlist of managers who would be interested in them could have a private auction.
