Arsenal : Young Guns Gone Good Put To The Ax,July 25th 2007 Ajax 2 - 2 Arsenal Ajax Stekelenburg Silva - Vermaelen - Heitinga - Emmanuelson Lindgren - Gabri - Kennedy Rommedahl- Urzaiz - Luque Arsenal Almunia Djourou - Gallas - Touré - Clichy Walcott - Gilberto - Fabregas - Flamini - Rosicky Adebayor After the stunning comeback against the socceroos last time out, Arsene Wenger's Arsenal will be looking for a win again today, as they come up against Dutch powerhouse Ajax Amsterdam. With notable additions to the team from the tour of the far-east. Manuel Almunia, William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor among others all start for Arsenal today. Ajax do however have two names frequently remembered by fans of the premier league as Dennis Rommedahl and Albert Luque formerly of Charlton Athletic and Newcastle United both start for Ajax. Arsenal start off brilliantly as neat work from Theo Walcott down the right resulted in a cut back, the ball fell to Johann Djourou who's left footed cross was met with a sensational overhead kick from Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor that beat keeper Stekelenburg after just 2 minutes. Arsenal once again put the ball in the net Gael Clichy's cross is met by the head of Gilberto Silva and diverted past Stekelenburg for the second time. But to no avail as the linesman calls Gilberto offside, and with replays rightly so. Ajax soon got a grip of the game, and former Newcastle Winger Albert Luque looked lively and had two shots go wildly wide, albeit from good opportunities, it was however Arsenal to score next as Mathieu Flamini's surging run from his own half was followed by a neat through ball to Adebayor at the edge of the box, the Adebayor controlled with his left before smashing home with his right foot for 2-0 after 41 minutes. Ajax did however grab a goal back as Albert Luque's free kick on the brink of half-time made it's way in from what seemed an impossible angle, albeit thanks to Manuel Almunia's mistaken positioning. With half-time coming to a close in what was an even half, Luque's 45th minute free kick could give Arsene Wenger a headache at half-time as to wether keep the current format going or to stay strong and hold out for the win. He did make one substitutiona t half time however as Gael Clichy came off for Phillipe Senderos who went to Centre Back as William Gallas moved to Left-Back. Arsenal almost had a chance to make the game theirs with little under an hour gone as Emmanuel Adebayor was released with 50 yards or so between the goal and himself, the Adebayor made his run before somehow failing to hit the target, leaving him and his team-mates in disgust. On the back of this, Wenger made two changes and brought off Adebayor for Eduardo, and the uninfluential Tomas Rosicky for young Dutchman Nacer Barazite. With Arsenal firmly in possession of the ball, Wenger made two more changes as Cesc Fabregas and Gilberto Silva made way for Denilson and Henry Lansbury with 20 minutes left. Ajax were not to be beaten however as with seconds left on the clock another lack of judgement from Manuel Almunia allowed Urzaiz to smash home Kennedy's cross from all but 2 yards. The game to a close with a score that Arsenal will not be happy with, and goalkeeper Manuel Almunia looks likely to be dropped thanks to. Scorers 2' Adebayor [Djourou] 41' Adebayor [Flamini] 45'+ Luque 90'+ Urzaiz [Kennedy]

Arsenal : Young Guns Gone Good Ad-da Boy,July 27th 2007 De Graafschap 0 - 2 Arsenal De Graafschap Cinalli Schuurman - Jansen - Keller - Frankel Robbemond - Van Der Ouweland - Meijer - Vidarsson Tarvajarvi - De Groot Arsenal Lehmann Sagna - Gallas - Touré - Clichy Walcott - Gilberto - Fabregas - Flamini - Rosicky Adebayor After conceding two goals late in both halves and held to a draw in Amsterdam, Arsenal would look to bounce back today as they took on De Graafschap looking to get back to winning ways. After early dominant pressure, Arsenal took the lead as Emmanuel Adebayor combined with Tomas Rosicky before Adebayor sent a through ball to Fabregas and the Spaniard tucked home for 1-0 after 33 minutes. It's 2-0 shortly after as Tomas Rosciky's low hard drive from 25 yards was fumbled by Graafschap keeper Cinalli, before centre back Keller's miss kicked his clearance straight into his own net just before half time. Half-time came calling with Arsenal leading 2-0 after Fabregas' goal and Kelleer's unfortunate own goal, and Arsene Wenger looks to seek some more attacking football he brings on Henry Lansbury for Mathieu Flamini. With an hour gone, and Arsenal yet again looking good, Wenger makes two changes. Off come Clcihy and Walcott and on come Traoré and Hleb. Along with this Adebayor also comes off for Robin Van Persie. Nothing good came of the substitutions and Arsenal ran out 2-0 winners in what could only be described as 'yet another boring game' Scorers 33' Fabregas [Adebayor] 42' OG Keller MOTM - Emmanuel Adebayor ![]() Adebayor Was Impressive

Arsenal : Young Guns Gone Good West Brom Game Cancelled And League Draw In, July 30th 2007 Today Arsene Wenger announced that he is not happy with his squad and has pulled out of the friendly against West Brom in preperation for the season, as he says 'these players do not have enough discipline'. The bold remark came after a colourful pre season tour of the far-east and Holland. Arsenal suffered some dreadful results and conceded a lot of goals. Arsene Wenger said this 'The keepers have been very poor, as has the defence, if they don't sort it out they will be gone, mark my words'. In other news, Arsenal have been handed their draw for the new season and will face some tough competition in the form of Tottenham Hotspur, Ajax and Internacional to name but three of thier opponents for the coming season.

Arsenal : Young Guns Gone Good The Season So Far, November 12th 2007 The date was set, the pitch was ready, and after months of pre-season, the football season began once more with Arsenal hosting River Plate. Arsenal got off to a dream start as they cruised home against the Argentinians with a 3-0 victory. They then continued from this and won three more games defeating Espanyol 4-1, Galatasaray 5-1 and Internacional 3-0 before arriving at week 5. After 4 games of the season gone so far, Arsenal's inconsistent pre-season form soon came back to haunt them as they suffered a 4 game streak of 3 losses and a draw from week 5 to week 9. The damage first started as they loss to bitter rival Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates after a Dimitar Berbatov goal. Things did not get much better as they looked to get back on track against Ajax. Arsenal played Ajax in pre-season and were held to a draw by the Dutch side, but Ajax got the better of them in Amsterdam this time round as young star Urby Emanuelson curled home a free kick and gave Ajax a 1-0 victory. Arsenal had lost their grasp at th top of the league, and rumours of a dressing room bust up between Midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Mathieu Flamini hit the tabloids around Europe. The off the field matters were not denied by Flamini, Fabregas or Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as they all commented with 'no comment' on the situation. With 2 losses in a row suffered, Arsenal were adamant to get back on track against Bayern Munich and after taking the lead via a Phillip Lahm Own Goal, hopes were high. That was until they conceded yet another goal in injury time as Mark Van Bommel fired home on the brink of hal-time. Arsenal went into the break demoralised, and with little under 15 minutes gone of the second half, Munich scored again as Argentina Centre Back Demichelis headed home. So 3 defeats in a row and French powerhouse Marseille nexxt up, could things finally be changed around? To an extent some would say yes, whilst the majority would say no. Arsenal once again conceded the first goal as Ziani put Marseille ahead, but for the second game in a row, Arsenal benefitted from an Own Goal. Signs of better things to come perhaps? In midst of Arsenal's poor form, Centre Back Kolo Toure was selected to represent the Ivory Coast in an African Cup Of Nations qualifier after impressive form for Arsenal. Arsenal finally got their win in week 10 as they beat FC Groningen in a 6 goal thriller ending 4-2 to Arsenal. Arsenal picked up from this, and continued to get back on form as they beat Feyenoord and most recently Besiktas. Besiktas, eventually lost 5-0 to Arsenal conceding five goals in doing so much like their Turkish counterparts Galatasaray. Their was some more good light this week as Spain's Cesc Fabregas was called up to represent Spain in a EURO 2008 qualifier after scoring 3 goals this term, aswell as being very consistent. Their were few positives to take from Arsenal's season so far. The 5-0 and 5-1 wins over Turks Besiktas and Galatasaray repectively, along with the impressive form of Cesc Farebgas, Emmanuel Adebayor and Nicklas Bendtner, along with the frequent appearances of 16-year old Henry Lansbury. With week 12 in progress, and Arsenal set to face De Graafschap. The Gunners lie a lowly 5th in the table a mere 5 points beind table topper Bayern Munich. Can Arsenal put their inconsistent form behind them, and rise to the top of the table once more? Recent Results Arsenal 3 - 0 River Plate Espanyol 1 - 4 Arsenal Arsenal 5 - 1 Galatasaray Arsenal 3 - 0 SC Internacional Arsenal 0 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur Ajax 1 - 0 Arsenal Bayern Munich 2 - 1 Arsenal Arsenal 1 - 1 Marseille Arsenal 4 - 2 FC Groningen Feyenoord 1 - 3 Arsenal Besiktas 0 - 5 Arsenal This message was edited by Junior Messi on Jul 31 2008.

Arsenal : Young Guns Gone Good Three Goal Freeman, November 26th 2007 After being given his first start of the season today against Real Zaragoza, young 15-year old Luke Freeman could've have only dreamt he'd get his big chance so early. At 15 years old and 259 days, Freeman made his way onto the turf of La Romereda to face Zaragoza. Freeman came close early on to scoring as Theo Walcott's cut back cross was shot wide by Freeman who knew he shoulda done better. Freeman once again came close as another low cross from Walcott was met by the foot of Freeman who's shot was saved by Cesar Sanchez from close range. Then came Freeman's chance, after a cross from Tomas Rosicky wasn't cleared by Zaragoza defender Sergio, Freeman pounced and with two touches one for control and one for the shot, Freeman scored his first goal for the Gunners. With his father in the stands celebrating, and his manager off his feet applauding the young striker from Dartford had made more of an impact than he could've ever imagined. Freeman's goals had not finished their however. After Tomas Rosicky sent in a corner, Midfielder Abou Diaby was scythed down by Albert Celades and won a penalty. With no experienced head in the team, and Tomas Rosicky and Abou Diaby not wanting to take the kick, Freeman stood up and took the ball. He placed it on the penalty spot, and smashed the ball home on the stroke of half-time. Arsenal were now in full flow and as Theo Walcott made it 3-0 10 minutes after half-time Freeman, collected his third, and the ownership of the ball, as he completed his hat-trick after neat work from Nacer Barazite thread the ball to Freeman who tucked home past Sanchez. Walcott added another for 5-0, before Diego Milito got a consolation for Zaragoza as Arsenal score 5 again this season. Freeman made records that may well possibly never be beaten again today. Freeman broke the record for youngest Arsenal player to appear for the Gunners, Arsenal's youngest goalscorer, and Arsenal's youngest ever player to score a hat-trick in a game that will be forever remembered as the game Luke Freeman was unveiled to the world. Priot to this game, Arsenal had defeated De Graafschap 5-1 and Tottenham 2-1 in the D2 Cup ![]() Freeman Shocked The Footballing World With An Amazing Hat-trick Recent Results Arsenal 5 - 1 De Graafschap Arsenal 2 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur [D2 Cup] Real Zaragoza 1 - 5 Arsenal This message was edited by Junior Messi on Jul 31 2008.
