Arsenal : Young Guns Gone Good Would New Beleive It, December 16th 2007 With two more games scheduled to be played until the transfer window opens on January 1st, and the players get a 3 week break for the Winter, Arsenal today played out a trademark entertaining fixture against Newcastle United at the Emirates. After Arsenal's somewhat improved performances ever since their blip in October, Arsenal have gone on to beat Fiorentina 2-1, SBV Excelsior 2-1 and AZ Alkmaar 2-0 in the last 3 games after Luke Freeman's sensational full debut and hat-trick against Real Zaragoza. But today, in what is to be known as a classic game Newcastle United and Arsenal locked horns in an almighty clash of the titans. With Arsenal berated by injuries and a lack of fitness, they had to make do, with several first teamers out, and youngsters such as Henry Lansbury and Nacer Barazite plying their trade instead. The match started badly for Arsenal as with just four minutes gone Newcastle scored. Michael Owen's clever footwork on the edge of the box was followed by a precise cross for James Milner, and the Winger finished comfortably. Arsenal weren't to be behind for long however as they equilised 5 minutes later as Nacer Barazite's through ball to Theo Walcott, saw the young Englishman turn his defender before slotting past Shay Given for one a piece. Arsenal now on the front foot, then went on to grab the lead as the assister of their first goal, was the scorer of their second as Nacer Barazite leapt highest to nod home Cesc Fabregas' corner past Given to give the home side the lead after 19 minutes. A resilient Newcastle were not to be shown up though as they soon grabbed an equiliser, and then against the run of play, a third to put the Toon army ahead after a Michael Owen double after 36 and 41 minutes respectively. Going into the break losing was not what Arsenal were expecting after taking the lead after being 1-0 down. With the score poised at 3-2 to the visitors, Arsenal would be eager to grab an equiliser back after the break. It didn't go well, as although having the majority of the chances, they couldn't build an attack that could penatrate the Geordie defence. Talking of defence, it was a defender next to score as Newcastle added a fourth as Alan Smith's knock down was met by Stephen Taylor who flicked the ball backwards off the heel of his boot and into the net in spectacular fashion with an hour gone. The game was all but lost 6 minutes later as Michael Owen scored his hat-trick goal after Mark Viduka's square ball, he chipped it over the onrushing Lukas Fabianski for Newcastle's fifth. Arsenal however where not going to lie down and be trounced upon, as they got a goal back courtesy of Tomas Rosicky, Rosicky powered home Hleb's cross to gain a goal back for the Gooners and make a comeback look like just a possibility albeit with only 20 minutes left. With Arsenal now applying all the pressure, Arsene Wenger made some bold changes and brought on Robin Van Persie, Eduardo Da Silva and Nicklas Bendtner to add to the attacking line. Wenger's change paid off as Theo Walcott's knock down was controlled by Bendtner, who turnt and was hacked down by Habib Beye in the penalty box. Arsenal had a penalty and Beye was booked. Up stepped young Cesc Fabregas who continued his excellent season as he slotted his kick straight down the centre for 5-4 and with a small chance of a comeback still on the cards, although only 5 minutes were left. Arsenal were attacking endlessly for the final fw minutes as they effectively had a 5 man attack to test what was seemingly now a 6 man Newcastle defence. With Kolo Toure and Cesc Fabregas also floating in the box, Arsenal looked as though they could pull of a remarkable comeback, but all was to no avail as the referee blew his whislte on the tie, which ended with an ecstatic Newcastle United victorious in the 9 goal thriller. Arsene Wenger was unable to comment after the game but Captain William Gallas said 'it was almost a classic comeback, and the lads should be proud to even get close to the scoreline'. ![]() Gilberto Silva Applauds The Arsenal Faithful Recent Results Fiorentina 1 - 2 Arsenal Arsenal 2 - 1 SBV Excelsior AZ Alkmaar 0 - 2 Arsenal Arsenal 4 - 5 Newcastle United

The appointment sees Klinsmann return to the club where he won UEFA Cup and German championship honours in a two-year stint as a player between 1995 and 1997. The former world-class striker, a 1990 World Cup winner who captained his country to Euro 1996 glory and scored 47 goals in 108 international appearances, spent two years at the Germany helm and guided the host nation to third place at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The 43-year-old will now take on the challenge of leading Bayern to domestic and European success. "Congratulations to Bayern Munich. This is a first-class solution. Jürgen Klinsmann is an outstanding coach and a tremendous man-motivator, who had an excellent World Cup with the national team," Hitzfeld commented at Bayern's Säbener Strasse headquarters on Friday. "He also speaks English, French and Italian, and will be able to communicate well with the players." General manager Uli Hoeneß informed the squad of the board's decision to appoint Klinsmann ahead of a scheduled morning training session. "This is an absolutely superb choice. We're delighted Jürgen Klinsmann is to be our new coach," Germany striker Miroslav Klose declared. "I think it's great the board have already come to a decision," added Willy Sagnol. "We did very well under him with the national team," remarked Lukas Podolski. The new role will be Klinsmann's first experience of coaching at club level, "but he did an extremely good job for Germany," Sagnol observed. "The Germany internationals know what kind of a guy he is, so we view this very positively," confirmed Bastian Schweinsteiger. Arsenal : Young Guns Gone Good Season Round-Part 1, December 28th 2007 With a total of 20 games over 18 weeks already played by the Gunners, some of the young squad will be looking forward to their Winter break. After the dissapoinment of the D2 Cup, as Arsenal fell to arch rivals Tottenham, 5-2 on aggregiate after leading the first leg 2-1, Arsenal have only the league to concentrate on now, as after a mid season blip along with 2 losses at the end of December, Arsenal see themselve lie 3rd in the table 9 points behind league leaders Bayern Munich and 8 points behind 2nd place Newcastle United. With Arsene Wenger seemingly not 100% happy with his squads performances so far this term the Frenchman said this on the matter - quote Arsene WengerArsene Wenger was theb obliged to comment on the possibility of some transfer dealings this January, and said the following - quote Arsene Wenger Full List Of Results Arsenal 3 - 0 River Plate Espanyol 1 - 4 Arsenal Arsenal 5 - 1 Galatasaray Arsenal 3 - 0 SC Internacional Arsenal 0 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur Ajax 1 - 0 Arsenal Bayern Munich 2 - 1 Arsenal Arsenal 1 - 1 Marseille Arsenal 4 - 2 FC Groningen Feyenoord 1 - 3 Arsenal Besiktas 0 - 5 Arsenal Arsenal 5 - 1 De Graafschap Real Zaragoza 1 - 5 Arsenal Fiorentina 1 - 2 Arsenal Arsenal 2 - 1 SBV Excelsior AZ Alkmaar 0 - 2 Arsenal Arsenal 4 - 5 Newcastle United Arsenal 1 - 2 RC Lens D2 Cup Arsenal 2 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur Tottenham Hotspur 4 - 0 Arsenal Tottenham Hotspur win 5-2 on aggregiate and advanced to the Quarter Finals. Along with Arsenal's decent league position their have been some outstadning performances from some of the squad members. Young Cesc Fabregas, at only 20-years of age is pulling the Gunners midfield together with defence splitting passes and scoring several goals, so far the oung Spaniard is Arsenal's most consistent performer and has scored 6 goals and created 5 from 14 appearances (13 starts, 1 substitute appearances). Fabregas also has the most starts for Arsenal this season. Meanwhile striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been benefiting from Fabregas' creative nature as the Togolese star has scored 8 goals from 10 appearances (7 starts and 3 substitute appearances), which is a sensational amount of goals from so little game time. Another young striker who hit the headlines, was 15-year old Luke Freeman after scoring a sensational hat-trick against Real Zaragoza on his first competitive start for the club. Freeman was unable to comment after the game, but manager Arsene Wenger said 'I knew he was capable, but that was sensational'

Arsenal : Young Guns Gone Good The Rumour Mill, December 30th 2007 ![]() So with the transfer window a matter of days away, Arsenal TV look into the rumours, the gossip and the speculation regarding the transfer goings of Arsenal Football Club, with an in-depth 5 man transfer report. ![]() Batuhan Karadeniz Position - Forward Age - 16 Nationality - Turkish Club - Besiktas Young Turk Batuhan Karadeniz, better known simply as Batuhan has apparently been a long-term target of Arsene Wenger's, as reports claim that the Arsenal gaffer had approached Besiktas when Batuhan was 14, requesting that Batuhan moved to England and slotted into the Arsenal acadmy frame. A deal was not agreed, as neither Besiktas, Batuhan nor Batuhan's family were keen on moving to England at such a young age, and Batuhan's wish to play for his boyhood club. Knwon for his daunting figure, at 6 foot 3 inches, Batuhan could be the target man Arsene Wenger may look to replace Emmanuel Adebayor with in the long-term future. With good heading ability and a decent shot, Batuhan is set to be selected for Turkey's under 17 squad for the under-17 European Championship. ![]() Arda Turan Position - Winger Age - 20 Nationality - Turkish Club - Galatasaray Another Young Turk, silky winger Arda Turan could be the perfect partner to complement Arsenal continental 4-5-1 formation. With a bag of tricks, and precise dribbling, a potential pairing of Arda Turan and Theo Walcott on the wings could prove killer for any opposition. With a surpsingly avid amount of Turkey caps at just 20 years old, Arda Turan could also possess a healthy experience to Arsene Wenger's young squad. Diego Biseswar Position - Winger Age - 19 Nationality - Dutch Club - Feyenoord/De Graafschap [Co-Ownership] Diego Biseswar is a winger currently playing for De Graafschap and Feyenoord. Originally owned by Feyenoord, De Graafschap's interest in the Dutchman was all but for a permanent basis, despite Feyenoord offering Biseswar to Graafschap on loan. The two teams soon came to an agreement that they would co-won the player over two seasons, with one season being played at De Graafschap at one at Feyenoord. Biseswar is known for his electric pace and controlled dribbling, Biseswar could be landed, if Arsenal fail to land number one target for the wing position Arda Turan or if they lose another winger. ![]() Toni Kroos Position - Attacking Midfielder Age - 17 Nationality - German Club - Bayern Munich 17-year old German Midfielder Toni Kroos is another one of Arsene Wenger's targets. The youngster playing for the team at the top of the table could be hard to prise away from Bayern, despite the players intentions t head for North London. Kroos' agent Arnold Schifir has told Sky Sports News, that his client would be interested in a move to Arsenal, as 'he sees first team football more a probability' and 'his family wish to move to London at some point in their lives'. The deal looks likely to go ahead, but Arsenal will have to try to agree terms with Bayern first as Bayern will be keen not to sell one of their prized youngsters to a rival club. ![]() Ji-Paraná Position - Midfielder Age - 20 Nationality - Brazilian Club - SC Internacional Brazilian playmaker Ji-Paraná is said to be one of Arsene Wenger's top targets this Winter after impressing with Internacional. The 20 year old, look like to follow in the footsteps of his fellow Brazilians as he looks to find a move to Europe. Known for his passing ability and tackling ability Ji-Paraná could add some steel in the Midfield alongside Mathieu Flamini.
