Day 4: Travelling to Japan

Celebrating the team's first win under new manager Joseph Macintyre, the squad got on the plane to Tokyo, looking forward to facing their biggest challenge yet.

The players are still recovering from their illness and will not be able to feature in the match against Japan apart from Yuri Vlug who has made a swift recovery.

Upon arrival to the team hotel, Cor Varkevisser was getting a lot of female interest and was relishing in it.

Day 5: Japan vs Sparta

Japan

Kawaguchi
Komano - Nakazawa - Abe - Nakata
K. Nakamura - Suzuki
Nakamura - Inamoto - Endo
Takahara

Sparta Rotterdam

Varkevisser
Promes - Adeleye - Moreno Freire - Polak
Dissels - Slot - Boukhari
Vlug - Roberts - Rose

Japan took an early lead through a great strike from K. Nakamura and nearly scored again from a clse freekick which shaved the bar. Sparta never really got going and Polak picked up a yellow card.

In the second half Japan started just as they did in the first, forcing saves from Varkevisser and hitting the crossbar. Sparta had the most clear cut chance of the match with Roberts through on goal but just sliding it wide of the mark.

Final score 1-0

Day 6: Travelling to South Korea

After the player's first defeat, they checked out of the hotel. Cor Varkevisser saying a special goodbye to his new fans and heading to the airport.

quote Joseph Macintyre
We are a little disappointed to lose in this manner, 1-0. Especially as we feel we could have levelled the game. But they were solid at the back and Darryl [Roberts] had a tough time on his own. So I'll be looking to bring in one or two new faces to give a bit more support and take the pressure off Darryl. I'm looking forward to seeing Danny [Schenkel] play as he has been ill when I wanted him, but hes well again now and it should be good to see him in action.
Macintyre optimistic of the team's chances against Korea, also said that he 'feels let down by Cor Varkevisser'. Apparently the 25 year old goalkeeper has told the gaffer of his night in Tokyo and Macintyre is not happy.

Day 7: S. Korea vs Sparta Rotterdam

Korea

Kim Yong Dae
Oh Beom Seok - Kim Sang Sik - Kim Dong Jin - Lee Young Pyo
Kim Nam Il - Lee Ho
Lee Chun Soo
Seol Ki Hyeon - Cho Jae Jin - Park Ji Sung

Sparta

Varkevisser
De Roover - Gudde - Schenkel - Jaggy
van Beuren - Kaita - Boukhari
Vlug - Roberts - John

A great start from Sparta saw them take the lead in the first ten minutes. They should have been 2-0 up by 30mins but a lack of composure kept it at 1-0.

After the break Korea were on the back foot until a shocking piece of goalkeeping gave them the equaliser and the confidence that they needed to grab another goal just 5 minutes later. Another piece of poor goalkeeping gave Korea a 2 goal lead that they weren't going to give up with 5 minutes left of the game.

Final score 3-1

Day 8: Travelling to Singapore

The journey to Australia will be done in two parts and the team stay one night in Singapore, where they have a club training session.

Soccer AM met up with the team to film them getting on with the 'Crossbar Challenge'. Every player took part and no-one managed to hit it.

On a darker note, Moreno Freire has picked up an injury which will see him miss the first half of the season.

Day 9: Travelling to Australia

Upon arrival to Sydney airport, the team were mobbed by the paperazzi, in particular Cor Varkevisser. He was met by the police and taken away from the rest of the squad as he spent the night in a local prison over the alleged rape of two Japanese women.

Varkevisser, 25, refused to comment on the matter and asked for the team to keep focused on the game in hand.

The goalkeeper has since returned to Japan to be questioned on the matter.

Manager Joseph Macintyre had this to say:
quote Joseph Macintyre
I'm in shock. I support Cor [Varkevisser] but we might have to release him as we cannot afford to pay his wages, if he is not playing for us. I am annoyed with what he has done but the rest of the squad will need to focus on tomorrow's game. I expect a tougher match, due to the circumstances.

Day 10: Australia vs Sparta

Australia

Schwarzer
Moore - Neill - Beauchamp
Emerton - Grella - Bresciano
Cahill - Culina
Kewell
Viduka

Sparta Rotterdam

Wapenaar
De Roover - Adeleye - Schenkel - Polak
van Beuren - Slot - Boukhari
Vlug - Roberts - Rose

A very early goal for Australia and an amazing one at that. A superbly struck Viduka left footed volley left the keeper with no chance. It was all Australia as they nearly hit a second with Bresciano's effort coming off the post and Kewell heading it over the top of the gaping goal. A similar chance again, this time Viduka's right footed half volley rockets off the bar and drops to Kewell who, again, blazed it over the top of another open goal.

A decent second half but not the best. Both sides had no major chances apart from one where Aloisi slid in the ball to Kewell, who took it round the keeper and chipped it onto the bar, a hat-trick of missed open goals. Sparta never really got going today. I should think the manager will be disappointed.

Final score 1-0

Pappi, maybe you could just post a few of the reports together, instead of boosting your post count

I know my Arsenal SOMS is all good and that. But i'm really itching to do one with Reading. May do one soon, but i'm not sure. I'd seem like a fool who can't do one ML before getting bored. Plus with Reading it'd lsat longer

re: Master League [3]

I dunno. I think its just that the ML has gotten to the point, at least for me, that playing with the same team season after season loses its appeal. Instead of going and reinventing the team, many just pick another Match mode team to be as.

Especially, if they have recently udated the team as according to new transfers, and want to see how they pan out in PES.

But most people on here don't even do a whole season, tbh i have only seen JM who has done a full one and now he is quitting it for another one.

Friends Provident Trophy

Fixture 1

Sparta Rotterdam

Kerklaan
De Roover - Promes - Schenkel - Polak
Kaita - Rose - Boukhari
Dissels - Roberts - John

Liverpool

Cavalieri
Darby - Skrtel - Agger - Insua
Plessis
Pennant - - - - - Benayoun
Lucas
Nemeth - Voronin

A good first half from Liverpool but Sparta took the lead on the brink of hal time with a dazzling run and finish from Roberts.

Liverpool straight on the attack and confusion in the defence for Sparta gifts Lucas with an easy goal. An all round decent game but never really looked to be great with Liverpool's reserves.

Final score 1-1

In other news Werder won 3-0 in their encounter with Bordeaux.

League Standings after Match 1

Werder 6pts
Liverpool 2pts
Sparta 2pts
Bordeaux 0pts
