![]() Del Piero Wins It In Opening Fixture ![]() AS Roma 0-1 Juventus Del Piero'7(Zebina) It took just seven minutes for Alessandro Del Piero to kick start his goal scoring campaign as he headed home Jonathan Zebina's cross from close range. Juventus hit-man David Trezeguet had a chance to put the visitors 2-0 up but his powerful header hit the crossbar. Thats when things turned bad for Marcelo lippi as David Trezeguet limped off injured and was replaced by Iaquinta on 17 minutes. Iaquinta imressed when he come on but it was Del Piero and Camoranesi who were making things happen for Juventus. Roma did have a great chance to equilise just before half time but striker Mirko Vucinic's shot was well saved by Gianluigi Buffon. The second half was a battle of the midfield with De Rossi and Nedved creating the football for there team's. More disapointment for Lippi as Del Piero is forced of with a knee injury and replaced by Marchionni for the last 15 minutes. Know real chances come towards the end of the game and Marcelo Lippi's side went home deserved winners. MOTM: Aleesandro Del Piero ![]() Match Rating: 6.5 Juventus(4-4-2) 1.Buffon, 18.Boumsong, 14.Andrade, 5.Zebina, 2.Birindelli(Chiellini 75), 4.Almiron, 11.Nedved(c), 8.Camoranesi, 7.Salihamidzic, Del Piero(Marchionni 75), Trezeguet(Iaquinta 17)

SOUTH WEST REDS FC
The latest addition to the league are local team South West Reds and they're squad of expierienced and young, they are prepared to take on top teams from Excelsior to Real Madrid. Former legend defender Jans Vornander was appointed manager by the South West public. Vornander confidently said in a short interview he expected the job. "I expected the job because I was with the team for a long time. It's going to be an exciting adventure. I will also be doing some special training with the defenders. I think we'll have a good campaign." Another headline breaker was to hear that Alex 'Castolo' Castello pipped Didier Espimas to the captaincy. The Brazilian striker is a fan favourite and Didier expected Castolo to be captain. "He's been a captain before. He's still a captain now. He has the right attitude. Umm, some would admit in the past he didn't have the attitude, hehe, but umm he's a great team mate to have around and at the end of the day I just want to win cups and enjoy success in my remaining time here." There are some young stars coming through at South West Reds that have caught the eye of several big sides. Jose Gutierrez - Forward - Spanish - 9 goals last season for academy. Jose is strong in the air and also likes playing behing the front man. Moussaffa El Moubarki - Full Back - Moroccan - 6 assists last season for academy. Very good crosser of the ball and likes to shoot from long range. Johann Libermann - Center Half - German - 3rd in player of the season contenders. Very strong and loves tackling. Recieved 4 yellows last season in academy. Bayern Munich reportedly want to take Libermann home for 5 million euros and Getafe and to buy Gutierrez for 7 millions euros. Vornader: None of our players are up for sale. We are trying to sort out contracts for Gutierrez, El Moubarki and Libermann and several others. No first team players are leaving at this time. So South West Reds have been preparing for the new season and know what teams they'll be facing in the upcoming 2008 season. They'll be starting in Division II with, Saint-Ettiene Caen Excelsior Stoke City Hull City AIK Derby County So before they took on the top teams in UEFA they would take their new look team to the field against Hapoel Tel Aviv in a friendly in Tel Aviv.

I think Castolo is the strong point and a good choice for club captain, because he has expierience and he is a good leader and a player with sheer ability and I know for a fact because I played with him many years ago and it was fun playing with playing with him." --------------------------------------- --------------------------------------- ---------------------------- ----------------- ---------- HAPOEL TEL AVIV vs. SOUTH WEST REDS Peter Drury: So today South West Reds are going to field their new look team against Hapoel Tel Aviv on this warm evening and to be honest, they look well up for it. There are about 200 South West fans in the far corner to my right. Lots of fans with the name CASTOLO on their backs. Continued in next report

DODO WINS IT FOR THE REDS
Luigi Dodo's diving header wins the match for South West in friendly match. He met El Moubarki's corner in the 89th minute with a diving header. Steve Stein was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 56th minute but The Reds came out on top. Jans Vornander was only half-pleased with the result and said that they need to improve if they want to think about finishing in a decent position. 'Well to be honest if we didn't have Valerin, I wouldn't have been surprised if we had lost 6-1. There are too many gaps being left at the back. The only defenders that stand out are the full backs. There is definetly going to be some work done on the training ground before we concede 200 by January. But apart from that; not bad. Castolo is a great player and captain. I don't think he is the most confident person. He's in the dressing room or at training but he's different on the pitch. He's a great player though'

Hammarby aren't bad.
Oh I was going to ask also if anyone here has signed Kirk Broadfoot. He seems like a handy Full-Back and Center-back. He doesn't grow very fast though.
