In all fairness, you pretty much set the standard with your spam SOMS.
And kidofsona, I think that some of these recent SOMS's have been pretty good, DavidVilla's one for example is well laid out and makes good use of the neo mark up tags. All have been readable and while some are perhaps a little plain compared to others, I don't think that justifies calling them 'crap.' Expressing your opinion in that way just puts people off doing one and makes the time and effort they've put into them seem worthless, and I don't think that's the way this forum works or how any similar situation should be. There's nothing wrong with expressing your opinion, but expressing it the way you have isn't a great idea in my opinion.

Bhoys Start With A Draw Celtic 1 - 1 Birmingham Vennegoor '55 - Jerome '14 6(2) Shots (on target) 7(3) 3 Fouls 1 0 Yellow 0 1 Red 0 56 Possesion 44 MOTM: Vennegoor 7.0 Celtic started off the new campaign with a point from a fiesty encounter with former Rangers manager Alex McLeish's Birmingham. A silly mistake by Massimo Donati allowed Cameron Jerome in and he took his chance with aplomb, sweeping his shot past the advancing Boruc. Things then got worse for Celtic when Scott Brown was shown a straight red for a lunge at Mehdi Nafti. From the resultant free kick Artur Boruc pulled off a great save low to his right to prevent Jerome's header doubling the deficit. Celtic got back in it through Jan Vennegoor, neat work between Maloney and Naylor allowed Naylor to whip in a bending cross that left all but Vennegoor flat footed and he stooped to head past Maik Taylor, Birminghams offside protests purely in vain. Scott McDonald then exploded into life, first with a 25 yard daisy cutter which taylor clipped wide for a corner, followed by a cheeky chip that agonisingly landed on the roof of the net. The best chance of a game winner came from James McFadden, having left Wilson for dead, he wrong footed Caldwell and let go of a fierce drive only to see it cannon off the post and Celtic's 10 men held on to their point. Other week 1 results: Hull City 0 - 0 Stoke City West Brom 1 - 2 Derby Reading 0 -2 Sunderland Reading Park The Bus Celtic 0 - 0 Reading 10(4) Shots (on target) 3(0) 2 Fouls 2 0 Yellow 1 0 Red 0 59 Possesion 41 MOTM: Hartley 6.5 Reading showed up with a game plan and stuck to it rigorously. They started and ended the game in a 5-3-2 formation leaving them little attacking options, but plenty of cover at the back. In a dull first half Samaras had the best chance, heading over from 8 yards when it would have been easier to score. The Bhoys pushed forward early in the second half which almost cost them, a rapid counter by Lita and Doyle ended with Doyle 1-1 with Boruc only to blaze over. With 20 minutes to go McGeady was introduced to replace the ineffective Crosas. He immediately began linking up well with robson to create chances for the strikers, but none were taken. The last 5 minutes were arguably the best, Chris Killen's half volley from Robsons knock down deflected of Bikey and hit the post. from another corner Samaras headed just over and with seconds remaining Barry Robson curled a beauty towards the top corner only to see Hahnemann get a hand to it. A disappointing day all round for the Bhoys. Other week 2 results: Derby 0 - 2 Stoke Sunderland 0 - 3 Hull Birmingham 2 - 1 West Brom First Win Flattens Baggies West Brom 0 - 2 Celtic - Vennegoor 53' - McDonald 88' 4(1) Shots (on target) 6(6) 2 Fouls 5 0 Yellow 2 0 Red 0 49 Possesion 51 MOTM: Vennegoor 7.0 Celtic got their first win of the campaign against a stubborn West Brom side in the teeming rain at The Hawthorns. In a match dominated by the visitors only a few real chances were created but the best were duly taken. The first opportunity fell to Vennegoor, clever work from McGeady found the dutchman in a race to the ball with Carson, Vennegoor won the race but couldnt find the net. Bednar then wasted West Broms only chance of the half, blasting wide from just outside the 6 yard box. The second half started with a bang, Barry Robson stole possesion from Leon Barnett and thumped a low drive towards Carsons goal forcing the keeper to parry the ball straight to Vennegoor who applied the finish into the empty net. varson was in action moments later to this time deny McDonald who had beat the offside trap to latch on to Loovens' long ball but to see his tame effort go straight into Carsons gloves. West Brom then applied a little pressure but no threats were truly created, James Morrison blasting a 25 yarder into row Z was the highlight of some unimaginaive work. On 88 minutes Celtic broke and McDonald was left once again 1-1 with Carson, this time deciding to go round the keeper and finishing cleanly to give the Bhoys the victory. Craig Beattie almost grabbed a consolation for the Baggies only to see his shot come off the post and Boruc gather the rebound. McManus Sees Red In 6 Goal Thriller Celtic 3 - 3 Stoke City Robson 60' - Pericard 44',63' Samaras 74',80' - Whelan 77' 9(7) Shots(on target) 7(4) 5 Fouls 4 1 Yellow 1 1 Red 1 48 Possesion 52 MOTM: Samaras 7.5 Celtic and Stoke played out a cracking three all draw at Parkhead, somewhat overshadowed by two contoversial decisions by the referee. First he awarded a free kick to Celtic on the edge of the box when it looked inside the box and only gave last man Diagne Faye a yellow. He then sent off Stephen McManus after he brought down pericard, but had clearly won the ball and was not last man. The first goal of the game came on 44 minutes, celtic paying dearly for the chances they had missed, Chris Killen in particular missed two simple chances. Liam Lawrence's log range effort beat Mark Brown, but not the crossbar, and the rebound fell kindly for Pericard who made it 1-0. Celtic got back in it on the hour, Barry Robson beating Glen Whelan in the air all to easily to head home Sheridans cross. But the defence went to sleep and moments later Pericard had his second, a Delap cross finding the Cameroonian striker unmarked at the near post. Then came McManus' Red card, Strachan reacted bu sending Samaras on in place of Sheridan, this paid immediate dividends, The Greek international prodding home from a Nakamura corner. But once again the defence were asleep after scoring, and they allowed Whelan to get his shot off which found the top corner, Mark Brown was livid. Samaras proved hero again though, thumping a header home from Wilsons cross, Sorensens fingertips couldnt keep it out. In the dying seconds Celtic were awarded a free kick, the script was written for Nakamura to finish it, but his free kick found the side netting and the points were shared. Other week 4 results: Birmingham 1 - 1 Reading Sunderland 1 - 2 West Brom Hull 2 - 1 Derby Table after 4 games: 1. Hull 10 pts 2. Birmingham 8pts 3. Celtic 6pts 4. Sunderland 6pts 5. Stoke 5pts 6. Bhoys Beat Leaders in Cup Celtic 2 - 1 Hull City Brown 33' - Cousin 25' Vennegoor 61' - ----------------- 7(4) Shots(on target) 5(3) 3 Fouls 2 0 Yellow 1 0 Red 0 54 Possesion 46 MOTM: Vennegoor 7.0 Celtic came from behind to beat the league leaders in the quarter finals of the Carling Cup. Former Rangers striker Daniel Cousin opened the scoring after being left unmarked at the far post where he headed home Marneys corner. Celtic were back in it shortly after, the entire back four seemed drawn to Jan Vennegoor as he was forced wide of the box but this meant an empty box when his cross came in and Scott Brrown duly obliged to head home. Vennegoor got the winner just past the hour, a Nakamura corner beat everybody and was driven back across the box by Naylor and Vennegoor got in front of Ashbee to prod home at the near post. Marlon King thought he'd grabbed a late equaliser but for McManus to get back to clear off the line.

Samaras Double Sinks Rams Derby 1 - 2 Celtic Richards 78' - Samaras 59',86' 3(2) Shots(on target) 13(8) 2 Fouls 5 1 Yellow 0 1 Red 0 44 Possesion 56 MOTM: Bywater 8.0 Stephen Bywater picked up the man of the match award even though he was on the losing side. A string of fine saves from first minute to last gave the scoreline some respectability, if not for him, it could have been 6 or 7. He was first tested 3 minutes in, Killen latching on to Samaras' flick only to see his first time effort knocked onto the post by the keeper. Moments later Darren O'Dea was given room to roam down the left and his long range attemp had to be tipped over. Then it was Hartley who would be thwarted, a lovely 1-2 with Donati along the 18 yard line left hartley open to drill a shot across goal but Bywater was there again to palm the ball to safety. The first goal came when Samaras was left 1-1 with the keeper after Leacocks tackle on Killen let the ball roll through to him and he slotted home past Bywater. Then, in Derbys first real threatening attack they got back into it, Giles Barnes long range effort tipped onto the post by Boruc only for the rebound to fall to Richards who finished well under pressure from Balde. That forced Celtic, and Bywater, into overdrive. A long clearance from Caldwell was knocked down by Samaras and Killen met it forst time on the half volley, it was going in, but a full stretched Bywater kept it out. Then it was donati who stung the keepers hands, a snap shot from 12 yards but Bywater was down quickly to force the corner. From the corner Celtic got the winner, Hartley played it short to McGeady who found Samaras unmarked at the fron post and he duly obliged to the dcelight of the travelling fans. Derby had no real right to feel hard done by, all except for Bywater. (BYWATER WAS AMAZING!!!) Other week 5 results: Reading 0 - 1 West Brom Hull 1 - 3 Birmingham Stoke 0 - 2 Sunderland Scotty Mac Grabs Only Goal Celtic 1 - 0 Hull McDonald 29' - ------------- 4(2) Shots(on target) 3(1) 4 Fouls 6 2 Yellow 3 0 Red 0 51 Possesion 49 MOTM: Hinkel 7.0 Scott McDonald grabbed the only goal in apoor game with more fouls than chances. A 90 minute midfield war was occasioanlly broken for a tame chance but it was on the half hour when McDonald got his second of the season, slipping the ball past Myhill after wrong footing Mendy. Hulls best chance was also their poorest effort, Caldwell's clearance only reaching Marney, he looped the ball back into the box but Windass' tame header was right at Boruc. Other week 6 results: Sunderland 0 - 3 Birmingham Reading 1 - 0 Derby West Brom 1 - 1 Stoke Tigers Mauled Hull 2(3) - 4(6) Celtic Hughes 24' - Vennegoor 40',57' King 90+' - Killen 65' ---------- - Crosas 81' 4(3) Shots(on target) 12(7) 2 Fouls 3 0 Yellow 1 0 Red 0 50 Possesion 50 MOTM: Vennegoor 7.5 Celtic came from a goal down to secure a semi-final place. Having conceded an away goal in the first leg, conceding first was the worst possible start the game, but they did, Balde deciding to head clear when McGovern had come for the ball left an open goal for Hughes to give Hull the lead outright. The half from there was scrappy until Celtic got an equaliser just before the break, Maloney's corner met by Vennegoor's glancing header gave Myhill no chance. They got the second when Browns through ball flatfooted Turner and Ricketts and Vennegoor slipped the ball past Myhill first time. Phil Brown then took Doyle off and replaced him with Daniel Cousin, leaving gaping holes at the back which were immediately exploited by the Bhoys, Killen latching on to McGeady's ball from the right where he had enough time to control, take a touch and slot home. The icing was put on the cake when Maloney grabbed another assist by putting his corner right on Crosas' head, Game well and truly over. Marlon King grabbed a late consolation hacking the ball in off the crossbar fromm 4 yards after a goalmouth scramble after a Marney free kick. Celtic progress to face Stoke who knocked out West Brom. McDonald Grabs The Points Celtic 1 - 0 Sunderland McDonald 56' - --------- 10(5) Shots(on target) 2(0) 2 Fouls 7 0 Yellow 3 0 Red 0 58 Possesion 42 MOTM: McDonald 7.5 Scot McDonald got the only goal of a game simply dominated by Celtic. Sunderlands only two shots came from long range and both ended closer to the corner flag courtesy of Miller and Malbranque. McDonalds goal was a fortuitous one, Samaras was clean through but his touch let him down allowing Gordon to block but the ball rolled straight to the aussie who calmly swept the ball into an empty net. A Nakamura special had Goron scrambling across goal only for the ball to hit the crossbar and Ferdinand to clear. Other Week 7 results: Hull 1 - 1 West Brom Stoke 1 - 0 Reading Birmingham 2 - 0 Derby Transfer Window In: Chino Zarate (Boca Juniors) Free Adrian Palmieri (Lazio) Free Gokhan Zan (Besiktas) £4.2m Dean Marney (Hull) Trade Out: Michael McGovern (Udinese) £1.4m Cillian Sheridan (Lazio) £1m Michael McGlinchey (Lazio) £1.4m Dianbobo Balde (Derby) Loan Jean Joel Perrier Doumbe (Hull) Trade The transfer period proved to be frustrating for Gordon Strachan as he missed out on two of his main targets. Gabriel Tamas opted to join Rosenborg and Garry O'Connor decided to stay with Birmingham. The last minute acquisition of Gokhan Zan was the main arrival, costing just over £4m. Dean Marney was traded for Doumbe, his versatility should be a help. Two young starlets were also brought in, Chino Zarate, a product of the Boca Juniors academy, and Adrian Palmieri, an Italian centre half from Lazio, the latter believed to be part of the deals for McGlinchey and Sheridan. The club rejected official bids for Barry Robson from Fulham, Everton and Roma, and had to fend off interest for Scott Brown from a number of interested parties. Strachan strongly denies he attempted to bring Henrik Larsson back to the club on a short term deal but admits to offering veteran USA striker Brian McBride a deal but the american rejected. A bid to bring Man City youngster Daniel Sturridge was rejected by the club. An attempt to bring Steed Malbranque in fell flat as Roy Keane insisted on the player staying put. Elsewhere Derby signed Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to give them some much needed firepower. West Ham have drafted in young German keeper Manuel Neuer from Schalke 04 casting doubt over Rob Greens future at the club. Vladimir Smicer is Back in England, this time its on the south coast with Harry Redknapps Portsmouth. Bolton have signed Thomas Buffel from Rangers to add to their options on the right. Angelos Charisteas has joined Aston Villa, Martin O'Neill says he will offer them something different up front to the imposing John Carew. And in possibly the most surprising move of the window, Charlie Adam has joined Chelsea. A surprisingly quiet month at White Hart Lane, Spurs have signed nobody. Samaras Sends Bhoys Top Birmingham 0 - 1 Celtic -------------- - Samaras 41' 5(3) Shots(on target) 8(4) 2 Fouls 1 0 Yellow 0 0 Red 0 54 Possesion 46 MOTM: Samaras 7.0 Georgios Samaras got his fifth goal of the season to send Celtic to the top of the table. A messy game in the rain where most of the chances were half chances, neither keeper was really tested and the miss of the season were the story here. The goal itself came from a corner, Nakamura drilling the ball right across the 6 yard box for Samaras to nod home. Seconds later McDonald disposessed Ridgewell and bore down on Taylors goal, he rounded the Northern Irishman but put the ball clean over the bar with his weaker left. Red faces all round. Late Show Seals Points Reading 0 - 1 Celtic --------------- - Vennegoor 87' 7(5) Shots(on target) 6(3) 2 Fouls 3 0 Yellow 1 0 Red 0 50 Possesion 50 MOTM: Vennegoor 7.0 Jan Vennegoor's late goal sealed the points at the Madejski for Strachans men after both sides wasted earlier chances. Andreas Hinkel shooting when a pass to Killen surely would have produced a better opportunity. Reading dominated the rest of the first half, Kevin Doyle wasting two glorious opportunities, one from a mere 7 yards. The second half started with a bang, John Oster outpacing Lee Naylor to whip in a cross which Leroy Lita headed against the bar, it rebounded to Hunt who controlled it then lashed a shot just wide of the near post. Gokhan Zan almost made a dream debut when he rose highest in the box only to see his downward header blocked on the line. Young Chino Zarate was introduced late on and his first touch was a first time through ball to Vennegoor who slotted past Hahnemann into the bottom corner, an impressive start for the youngster and its good to see Vennegoor back in the goals. Other week 9 results: Stoke 1 - 0 Derby Hull 1 - 4 Sunderland West Brom 0 - 1 Birmingham Debut Two Remember Celtic 2 - 0 Stoke Zarate 12',75' - ---------- 8(7) Shots(on target) 5(2) 2 Fouls 3 0 Yellow 0 0 Red 0 54 Possesion 46 MOTM: Zarate 7.0 Chino Zarate score all the goals on his full debut to give Celtic a big advantage in the first leg of the Carling Cup semi finals. Nakamura's free kick was the first chance 4 minutes in, skimming the top of Sorensens bar. Then some good work from Wilson on the left got him past Whelan and he dinked a lovely ball to the far post where Zarate was left unmarked to head home, albeit off the post, the first professional goal of his career and he was clearly delighted with himself. Stoke almost got right back in it but Sidibe's shot hit the post. Zarate was then put through 1-1 with Sorensen but the big Dane got a hand on his shot to put it out for a corner. The second came when a cross wasnt dealt with properly and the ball back in from McDonald found Zarate unmarked and he slotted it home under Sorensens body, arms were raised for offside, but it wasnt given. Stoke then had Griffin to thank for preventing Zarate from getting a hat trick, the youngster got through 1-1 and shot early, sorensen got fingertips to it but it was gropping in only for Griffin to get back and head over for a corner. Dean Marney and Adrian Palmieri both had solid debuts, Palmieri in particular was unshakeable at centre half keeping Fuller in check all the way through. 10-man Baggies Hold Bhoys Celtic 2 - 2 West Brom Samaras 24'(pen) - Beattie 4',51' Hartley 39' - ------------- 6(3) Shots(on target) 9(7) 2 Fouls 3 0 Yellow 0 0 Red 1 52 Possesion 48 MOTM: Beattie 8.0 Craig Beattie grabbed a brace against his former side to give 10 man West Brom a point at Parkhead. Four minutes in O'Dea failed to clear the ball and Leon Barnett found Beattie at the near post and he beat Brown first time. Georgios Smamras then headed against the foot of the post after Carson flapped. 24 minutes in Samaras was 1-1 and his shot was parried by Carson, Samaras reacted quickly but was brought down by Paul Robinson and the ref awarded a penalty before producing a straight red for the left back. On 39 minutes Donati found Samaras unmarked and he squared for Hartley to tap home his first of the season to make it 2-1. But five minutes into the second half Beattie grabbed his second, from a Celtic corner West Brom countered rapidly, Luke Moore struck low to Browns left only for him to parry the ball straight to Beattie who finished into an empty net. Both sides wasted numerous chances to get the points notably Shaun Maloney who headed over from 6 yards when unmarked, and Beattie spurned a great hat-trick opportunity with ten minutes left, shooting wide when 1 on 1. The Early Bird Catches The Worm Stoke 0 - 1 Celtic ------- - Killen 3' 3(1) Shots(on target) 5(4) 2 Fouls 0 0 Yellow 0 0 Red 0 51 Possesion 49 MOTM: Killen 7.0 Chris Killen got his first league goal of the season to keep Celtic just a point behind Birmingham in the title race. It took just three minutes for the Bhoys to get a goal, Samaras went down the right and played a 1-2 with Nakamura before chipping across the six yard box where Killen was lurking to head home. He nearly had a second when he jinked past Sonko, opened his body to curl one only to see it clip the outside of the post and wide. Stokes only chance on goal came when Lawrence found Fuller at the front post but Boruc stretched to save one handed to his left. Other week 11 results: Reading 0 - 1 Birmingham West Brom 0 - 2 Sunderland Derby 1 - 1 Hull Bhoys Book Place In Final Stoke 0 - 2 Celtic ------- - McDonald 53' ------- - Vennegoor 77' 7(3) Shots(on target) 6(4) 2 Fouls 2 0 Yellow 0 0 Red 0 52 Possesion 48 MOTM: Naylor 7.5 Stoke collapsed in the secong half to end their chances of silverware this year. Despite a rousing start with Delaps long throw headed into the side netting by Sidibe and Lawrences long range effort having to be tipped over by Brown, they couldnt find a goal and as they poured forward in the second half, Celtic ceased their opportunity. McDonald got the first, latching on to Crosas' long ball forward to sidefoot past Simonsen. Vennegoor got the second after Lee Naylors long range piledriver was parried by Simonsen straight to the dutchman who finished the game off unchallenged. Bhoys Secure Promotion Celtic 1 - 0 Derby Donati 71' - -------- 5(2) Shots(on target) 10(8) 5 Fouls 2 2 Yellow 0 0 Red 0 44 Possesion 56 MOTM: M. Brown 7.5 Mark Brown was in sensational form to keep Derby out in a game dominated by the away side from start to finish. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was a constant thorn in Caldwells side, repeatedly beating the scot to the ball both in the air and on the ground. Brown's best moment came he made a double save from Hasselbaink then Sterjovski, down low to his right from Hasselbaink then was back to his feet quickly to tip Sterjovski's effort over the bar. Celtic snatched the points when Massimo Donati glanced a Nakamura corner past the keeper and secure promotion for the bhoys. Other week 12 results: West Brom 1 - 1 Reading Birmingham 2 - 2 Hull Sunderland 1 - 1 Stoke Celtic Crowned Champions Hull 0 - 1 Celtic ------- - Samaras 79' 8(5) Shots(on target) 7(4) 7 Fouls 4 4 Yellow 1 0 Red 0 43 Possesion 57 MOTM: Caldwell 7.0 Georgios Samaras got the goal that sealed the title after a long drawn out game at The KC Stadium. Both defences were on fine form and most chances were tame long range efforts which were never going to bother the keepers. The goal came when Nakamura's corner was cleared straight back to him and he beat one man before sliding the ball across the six yard box and Samaras slid in to seal the title. Other week 13 results: Birmingham 0 - 2 Sunderland Derby 1 - 2 Reading Stoke 2 - 1 West Brom Sunderland Beat Lacklustre Bhoys Sunderland 3 - 2 Celtic McCartney 6' - Nakamura 26' Malbranque 51' - Samaras 74' Palmieri OG 82' - ------- 12(6) Shots(on target) 9(7) 4 Fouls 2 1 Yellow 0 0 Red 0 52 Possesion 48 MOTM: Connolly 7.5 Sunderland came out on top of a relatively meaningless match at the stadium of light but dont tell that to crestfallen Adrian Palmieri who's own goal gave all three points to the black cats. George McCartney got the first goal of the game when he was quickest to react to Browns parry from Reid's thunderbolt. But Celtic pegged them back twenty minutes later, Samaras sliding the ball past Nosworthy and Nakamura finished low past Gordon. Sunderland re-took the lead when Connolly chipped the ball over a flat footed Palmieri and Malbranque stole in to score first time. Once again tho, Samaras and nakamura combined, this time the Japanese midfielder planting a corner on the Greeks head with just over 15 minutes to go, Game on. Then Palmieri's nightmare moment came, Connolly was forced wide but got a good cross in that bounced in the six yard area and a retreating Palmieri collided with it and sent it rolling past Brown, a moment the young italian wont be forgetting too quickly. Other final week results: West Brom 1 - 0 Hull Reading 0 - 1 Stoke Derby 1 - 1 Birmingham
