Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United Competition: Barclays Premier League Venue: White Hart Lane Attendence: 37,455 Starting 11: Tottenham: Gomes, Stalteri, King, Woodgate, Bale, Bentley, Jenas, Huddlestone, Lennon, Bent, Pavluychenko West Ham: Green, Faubert, Neil, Upson, Ilunga, Parker, Noble, Behrami, Dyer, Cole, Ashton Contraversy right from the begining in this London derby as West Ham midfielder Valon Behrami was shown a straight red for a foul on spurs winger David Bentley. West ham seemed to benefit from the red card as the resulting free kick was headed out to Carlton Cole who raced up the pitch, rounded keeper Gomes and put the Hammers in front. Tottenham looked eager to bounce back and efforts from Darren Bent and Jermaine Jenas were narrowly saved by Robert Green in the West Ham goal. The Hammers looked to add to their lead through Dean Ashton but his shot curled just round the post. Julien Faubert showed great pace in the final minutes of the first half with great runs down the right flank looking to crosses to the strikers. West ham started brightly with Faubert carrying on playing good football on the flank. They were soon set back though as hitman Dean Ashton was taken off injured and replaced by David Di Michele who came close to scoring on his home debut. The 1 man advantage diddnt realy show for Tottenham and they neer looked like getting back into it and West Han played excelantly with 10 men. The match finished 1-0 to the Hammers in the nd London derby of the 08/09 season West Ham showed that they are capable of playing at the highest level. Final Score: Tottenham 0-1 West Ham Gianfranco Zola: 'It is a good win for the team who have worked very hard for this match and went out ther to prove a point. The red card was dissapointing and i have spoken to Valon(Behrami) and he has appolagised and is looking to bounce back when e returns from suspension. We have also spoke to the hospital and Dean(Ashton) is likely to be out for the next four weeks.' Man Of The Match: Julien Faubert 7.5 ![]() Ashton out for four weeks after injury against Tottenham

![]() Above: Mladen Petric celebrating whilst on internation duty for Croatia. But he also has plenty to celebrate at his new side, Tottenham Hotspur. TOTTENHAM SPEAK OF IMPRESSIVE PETRIC START This week, in an exlusive statement written officially for Neoseeker, Tottenham spoke for the first time of their impressions on new 26 year old signing Mladen Petric, and how the striker has brought a new dimension of play to the North London side. They wrote; "We feel that we are completely 100% impressed with the way our new Croatian striker Mladen Petric has settled into his role here at Tottenham. After joining us pre-season for a large sum of £6million from NK Dinamo Zagreb, we know that a fair few of our fans were surprised at the signing, and in truth- a little nervous. We knew that there would be some fans that were shocked and maybe indeed a little nervous, but we feel that Mladen has done perfectly to justify why we bought him at this time, and we feel he has also done extremely well to ignore some automatic critics he received from some newspapers, who claimed he was a player 'at the end of his tether' and that 'he was a player that has been over-estimated and we should have spent the money on another young star.' Like we did with Karim (Benzema £12m) and Fabio (C. £11). "But we feel that the striker has done justice for the transfer fee. He started only two days after joining in our friendly at home to Sevilla, and scored twice! He then scored again agianst Milan in our third and final pre-season fixture." They then went on to add; "As soon as we bought him we wanted to play him a lot, to try and help him settle down as quick as possible, with the season now just a few days away.. And we feel he has not only proved he can hack it against some of Europe's finest defenders - which, in theory, will prove a massive advantage for when we play against teams like AC and Inter in the European Champions League - but as well as that, he has slotted into his role as Sole Striker, with either Karim or Darren playing just off him, in his first two league games which he started in and finished. As well impressing by playing their perfectly and wowing not only the fans but the board and even some of the players, but he also scored both of those games, his second coming spectacularly against Newcastle whilst being under mountainous pressure from Cacapa and Steven Taylor.. Which showed strength, power and amazing ability.. To finish from the edge of the area with two world class or at least brilliant defenders breathing down your neck and kicking at your ankles, to the beat Given as well, was just immense.." So all in all: Tottenham have found large faith in the Croat, who although did not play in their game against Birmingham due to international duties, will play no doubt many of their league games this season, as well as starting in probably all of their European ties.

Manager interview with NeoNews:
"We've got off to a bad start but i can promise it will get better and i'll try to show that between week 10-13 when we play Chelsea, Man Utd, Tottenham and then Liverpool. We may have some injury troubles and some suspensions already but i'm hoping to bring in some decent new AND old players and i am bringing in a BIG name to the squad that i havent put on the wishlist and im willing to spend up to 80m on him. The fact that we are only eleventh isnt bad because its only been 3 games so not to worry to the fans, maybe worry if we are 20th after 29games but thats another story. We are working hard in training having 6training 3 hour training sessions a week and our youths are having 7, 8hour training sessions a week so we might see some of them spill into the first team soon." NeoNews breaking news! "Sunderland have ended the sponsership with APPLE after just 4weeks for unknown reasons so Snderland will be playing the next thew games with no sponser"

UNHAPPINESS CLAIMS DASHED..
Gomes staying say Spurs. After only three weeks into the new league season, Tottenham's second in the Master League, reports and rumours have been going around that thier First XI goalkeeper, Internationally known, Huerrelho Gomes has become unhappy at the club and has made his beleif clear that he wishes to leave the club in the mid-season negotiation period. But the Tottenham Board have contradicted those rumours, claiming that after signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2010 -two more seasons- he is more than happy to stay with the club, with the battles in Europe coming up soon as well. Tottenham have also stated that they wish any reporter who claimed this to remove such allegations and they will not further their investigations into who said this and why they said it. In more recent Tottenham's news, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Alan Hutton and Didier Zokora have all released statements on the Tottenham PES site, stating their intentions to leave in the mid-season transfer season. Saying they are unhappy at the fact they have been sent down to the bench and been replaced by young, in-experienced players. Both Zokora and Ekotto have been linked to moves which will take them to Parma and Livorno, both in Italy.

PETRIC SEALS NORTH LONDON HEROSHIP
Croat sinks Arsenal with 3. Just six weeks after arriving, amist rumours of being at the lower end of his metre-stick, coming to the end of his career, and being a waste of money and potential, Mladen Petric this week officially killed off any reports that he has no potential left, and has got only the worst years of his footballing career to come.. And he did so by scoring a maginificent hat trick that saw his seal his status as the the new 'North London Hero'. After Keane and Berbatov had come and gone, Mladen was faced with a tough task of filling their boots, with Bent slowly dropping in form and consistency, and Karim Benzema clearly not showing the experience needed to play week in-week out at his age. But he delivered, and delivered well. After scoring in his first two games for the club, fans were already labelling him 'God' and now with this outstanding performance, after already hitting in two from his only two games in the League this season, he has become what fans could of dream of having in their team. A true master of football. After Dos Santos opened the scoring, Petric was then set up via the mexican on the 62nd minute, and took the oppurtunity to simply curl the ball round the keeper and in off the post. He then added to it by running at the tiring Arsenal backline, he turned away from goal, taking it past the chasing Tomasz Rosicky, before almost chipping the ball with the inset of his left foot, lofting the ball over the stretched arm of Almunia, and into the goal. His third came easiest, a corner ball in from Vedran Corluke (of all people!?) saw his gifted with a chance from the sloppy defending, he easily powered home the header, leaving the Spaniardo goalkeeper with no chance from that one-yard out hammerblow. Petric thoroughly deserved the appluase, and recieved man of the match- overshadowing every other player on and off the pitch. And it's clear to see, he is simply unstoppable at this moment in time.

From around the world, we do have some shocking news to share with you guys today, to start off with,
![]() England has called upon two elephants to help them qualify for the next world cup. Capello had hinted last week that the two Elephants can team up and form an unstopable defense line, replacing john terry and Rio Ferdinand at the back. Although we are yet to see if FIFA will allow this. ![]() Argentina's National football team has requested FIFA for more protection in a game, specially during a free kick after the players had to risk their tools just to save a goal. Although each player has been given a ladies bag by the manager for temporarily protection until FIFA decideds to do something about it. ![]() Two old friends decided to pause the play during a UEFA cup match and have a little dance while the ball was still in play. ![]() Cristiano Ronaldo has been told by team mates to quit soccer and pursue a career in dancing, after the winger showed off some of his moves during a training session yesturday. ![]() UEFA are to investigate the match between Valencia and Osasuna which saw Valencia players flying in the air. The team was accused of making magical boots, but we are yet to see an action taken by UEFA. ![]() When Valencia players were seen flying last week against Osasuna, for many people this was untrue, but its becoming more realistic after a Juventus player was seen flying yet again this week at the San Siro, Valencia will now be charged douple for selling their magical boots in the market. ![]() France defender, # 13 has accused switzerland's # 2 of blocking his view when he was attempting to save a goal by deliberately jumping in front of him.

Just seconds into Sunderlands match against Middlesborough, Sunderland defender McCartney breaks his leg whilst sliding in for a tackle on Tuncay Sanli. McCartney is expected to be out for the whole season or more, this is a terrible setback for Sunderland, who only have Nosworthy to replace him. MALBRANQUE BANNED FOR 5 WEEKS Sunderland Midfeilder, Steed Malbranque has been banned for 5 games after being shown a red card for what could have been a career ending challenge on Fabio Rochemback (Middlesborough).
