Man United 0 - 2 CHELSEA

Chelsea recently took on Manchester United at Old Trafford hoping to achieve atleast a point, but after much brilliance from the CHELSEA team they came away with all 3 points. Chelsea started well having most of the possession but couldn't do nothing with it. Towards the end of the first half Chelsea got a bit more attacking, and eventually the attacking play payed of with Didier Drogba scoring a brilliant goal in first-half stoppage time. Manchester United started the second half poorly with Chelsea having almost all the possession but yet againt, did nothing with it. Chelsea managed to squezze in a late goal to seal the win when Didier Drogba doubled his tally on the 89th minute. When the final whistle blew the fans couldn't be happier. Man of the Match award went to Didier Drogba.

CHELSEA 2-2 River Plate

Chelsea's new manager hoped to get his second win in a row. Chelsea ended up conceeding in the 15th minute after a terrible mistake from goalkeeper Cech to let Rolando Zarate in for an open goal. Chelsea equalised shortly after as Ronaldinho is took down in the area by River Plate goalkeeper Vega, who is sent off, captain for the day, Freddy Guarin stepped up and slotted it to the right corner.. Chelsea then took the lead with 26 minutes left after second half substitute, Nicolas Anelka scoring a brilliant goal from 13 yards out. River Plate scored to make the score 2-2 with miss kick from goalkeeper Petr Cech to let Rolando Zarate score yet another open goal with less than 3 minutes left. Man of the Match award went to Carles Puyol.

Newcastle 0-2 CHELSEA

Chelsea took on Newcastle this weekend to try and stay top of the table. Freddy Guarin was especially looking for a win to kick of his first game as official Chelsea captain. Chelsea played well in the first half dribbling well down the flanks, but they couldn't get a goal. Just before half-time Newcastle defender Carr done a ferocious tackle on Adailton and was forced to come of. At the beginning of the second-half they seemed more attacking but the first goal didn't come until 76' when Ronaldinho blasted his shot into the top corner of the goal from 15 yards out. Chelsea then got another goal seconds into injury time to secure the win, the scorer was Drogba from 10 yards. Chelsea seemed to have more bad news though with Drogba being chopped down by former Chelsea defender and second-half substitute Babayaro who was sent off. Man of the Match went to Freddy Guarin.

Bolton 3-2 CHELSEA

Chelsea travelled up north to face Bolton this weekend expecting an easy 3 points, but they got anything except that. Chelsea already starting having troubles in just the sixth minute when Kevin Davies got one-on-one with Petr Cech, Davies chipped it over Cech but luckily left-bck Joleon Lescott cleared the ball from literally, on the line. Kevin Davies did manage to score though, in the 19th minute he slotted a goal right past Cech who was in no mans land. Chelsea then had Joleon Lescott booked after a foul on Meite. Chelsea managed to get level when Ronaldinho scored after a long throw from Lescott was headed by Joao Moutinho to Guarin who volleyed the ball and hit the bar, which was now shacking, but Ronaldinho was able to just jump up and head the ball in the net in the 34th minute. Just 7 minutes later Kevin Nolan scored a absolute brilliant goal from 34 yards out, Chelsea thought they had cleared it off the line, but replays showed it was just over the line. Chelsea's day then just went from bad to worse when R. Ferdinand gave away a penalty and was booked, Nolan slotted in his second of the game. Chelsea then had Puyol booked for a terrible challenge that maybe deserved a red. Chelsea then decided to bring off Ronaldinho, Drogba and Stephen Kelly and bring on Zola, di Santo and Cafu. The substitution worked a little with di Santo working well to gt past all the defenders and to pass to Zola who hits the cross bar, but Zola manages to get past all the defenders and pass to di Santo who manages to keep the ball under the bar but it was too late as the final whistle blew seconds later. Man of the Match went to Kevin Nolan.

CHELSEA 3-3 Newcastle

Chelsea faced Newcastle in the FA Cup this week and they knew it wouldn't be an easy game, but they just run riot of the Chelsea defence. Nothing really happened in the first half no one really attacked alot, no one really defended alot, but the second-half was excactly the opposite, well appart from the defend part. Chelsea played some really slack defending in the second half and Petr Cech must have been drunk after conceeding a shot from Damien Duff who had an open goal as Cech was on the other side of the box in the 58th minute. Martings then scored another open gaol 10 minutes later. Duff scored again 1 minute later. Anelka managed to pull one back in the 84th minute. Zola then came on for Ronaldinho and scored immediatly in the 87th minute. With seconds left on the clock Carles Puyol scored to make it all level again in stoppage time. Man of the Match went to Carles Puyol.

Terry to be sold?

England captain John Terry is expected to be sold by Chelsea in the Mid-season transfer window after a fall out with the Chelsea manager after an argument that the donut he bought John Terry had a hole in. John Terry has been replaced in defence by Carles Puyol and put on the subs bench, he has also been dropped as Chelsea captain.

Freddy Guarin named captain

Freddy Guarin has been named the new captain of Chelsea FC replacing John Terry (see above). Guarin joined Chelsea in 2007 for an undisclosed fee. Guarin has made 26 appearances for Chelsea and scored 7 goals and made 8 assists. The 22 year old right winger says he is delighted to become captain and says he will make an immediate effect. Guarin has also been handed the number 6 shirt.

Adailton named vice-captain

Chelsea's Brazilian right-back Adailton has been named as the clubs new vice-captain. This comes after Freddy Guarin was named as the new captain. Adailton has made only 14 appearances since joining Chelsea in 2007 after suffering 18 weeks of injury after only making 6 appearances for the club, but he has already scored 2 goals and made 3 assists. Adailton has also been handed the number two shirt following the departure of Ivanovic to Sunderland this summer.

Drogba out for 8 weeks

Chelsea and Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba is set to be sidelined for up to 8 weeks after breaking his metatarsal in a Chelsea game against Newcastle last week. Drogba had been limping for a bit of the game after picking up a slight knock after colliding with the Newcastle goalkeeper Shay Given, but it was nothing to serious, but after a challenge from former team-mate Celestine Babayaro he was forced to come off after the challenge broke his metatarsal.

Adailton out for 3 weeks

Chelsea's Brazilian right back Adailton is to be out for 3 weeks after pulling a hamstring in a Chelsea game against Newcaslte. He pulled his hamstring just minutes after suffering a challenge from Newcastle defender Stephen Carr, who was booked for the challenge. He was forced to be replaced in first-half stoppage time by Jose Bosingwa.
