The 23-year-old Brazilian completed a medical at Neo F.C and is set to sign a four year deal breaking Neo F.C's transfer record.
The deal taking the 25-times-capped brazilian international from Bremen to Neo F.C that's expected to be around 8million It was initially thought that Diego's contractural situation in Germany was perilous and that Werder Bremen would be forced to listen to offers as low as £5m for their star player, but Bremen's resolve was strong and they finally agreed to an 8million fee.

Crouch Double Helps Essex To Victory!

Essex FC started there division 2 campaign with 3 points and a comfortable 3-0 win over Birmingham City. Essex started the game brightly holding on to possession and passing the ball around quickly and smoothly and crated a few good chances to take the lead through Ishmael Miller and a long range effort from John O'Shea. The goal finally come when Niko Kranjcar played a long ball foward to Miller who headed on to Peter Crouch who hit a superb half volley from 18 yards which the keeper had know chance of saving. The second came shortly after when Paul Stalteri's early cross was met by the head of Ishmael Miller who put Essex 2-0 up going into half time.
The second half wasn't as entertaining as the first and Birmingham started playing good football and it nearly lead to a goal when Garry McSheffery's angled shot hit come back off the post and cleared away. But Essex never let it slip and on the 73rd minute Peter Crouch slotted home his second and rounded off a great perfomance.

Man of the Match* Peter Crouch 7.5

January Transfer Round-Up

Guti heads to Arsenal as Flamini heads the other way

>

West Bromwich Albions Guti made a surprise move to Arsenal. Arsenal have been tracking the Spanish player-maker for a while now, and decided to make there move. Guti having made 25 appearances and scoring 5 goals during his spell at West Brom will be missed. Mathieu Flamini on the other hand was desperate to get a move away from the Emirates, having falling out of favour with the boss.

£5 Million + Flamini > West Bromwich Albion
Guti > Arsenal

Coco goes on loan to Seville

The veteran defender has gone on loan the Spanish club Seville for the reminder of the season. He as expressed his desire to stay at The Albion but has only been used as back-up for the first team. Seville are hoping to sign him if he impresses during his loan spell.

Coco (Loan) > Seville

Young Talent joins The Albion for 4 year deal

West Bromwich Albion have signed young midfielder talent Mark Bell from Northampton for a fare believed to be around £500,000. a versatile player with pace and a deadly shot looks like he'll be heading straight into the first team. At only 19 he looks like Guti's replacement.

Essex FC

Essex 1-1 IFK Goteborg

After last weeks amazing performance at home to Birmingham City, Essex FC went into there second match of the season beaming with confidence.

Goteborg's defence looked strong in the opening 20 minute as Essex piled on the pressure with more brilliant possession football trying to create space. Goteborg started attacking quickly near the end of the half and took Essex by suprise with wonderful movement on the flanks and Tobias Hysen produced a wonderful cross which was met by Jonas Wallerstedt to put Goteborg 1-0 up on the stroke of half time.

HT- Essex 0-1 Goteborg

A substitution at half time and Ishmael Miller is being replaced by young Argentinian talent Mauro Zarate who will hopefully bring a bit of enthusiasm to this Essex team. And it's Essex that started the half brightly with Zarate making a real impact feeding the ball to Crouch and running at the defence. Zarate plays a lovely 1-2 with Kranjcar on the edge of the area but Zarate's shot saled wide. Essex were getting desperate as the match was coming to a close and picked up the ball at the half way line and set of on there last attack of the game with Benayoun down the right and McGeady on the left Zarate took on 2 players and nocked the ball wide to Benayoun who cut inside and fed Zarate who finished off a superb move to earn Essex FC a last gasp point.

Man of the Match

IFK Goteborg - Tobias Hysen
Essex FC - Mauro Zarate

Aston Villa 4-0 Birmingham City

In the Midlands derby, Aston villa came out on top with a superb display against a tired looking Birmingham side. Two Shimizu goals, an Andrei Arshavin penalty and a Gareth Barry header made sure of an historic derby day win.

John Virgo Exclusive post match interview with Andrei Arshavin.

Virgo: Your first derby match and a four-nil win. Does it feel good?

Arshavin: Well I don't know much about the local derbies here but it is a pleasure to be part of such an important win.

Virgo: Does it feel better being on the scoresheet?

Arshavin: Yes very good but what's important is that we win and push on for a place in Europe.

Virgo: Last question. What was the celebration all about?

Arshavin: I don't know what to say. It just came out. (laughs)
