![]() Gateshead SOMS September Manager's Journal ![]() Josef Koscinski Hello all. My name is Mr Koscinski and this is my first manager's journal of the season. I don't know many managers that do this sort of thing but I like to keep the fans involved with any football club I'm at, and I think you will appreciate me keeping you updated with how our season is progressing. As you all know I've recently been appointed the new man in charge, most of you fans probably think chairman Cecil Howes was crazy appointing a relatively unknown man as manager but I can reassure everyone that there is nothing to worry about. I am an experienced man, I've managed all across Europe but mainly in my native Poland. I managed Legia Warsaw for around 8 seasons and then spent some time at Cracovia Krakow. I then went to Russia to rule the roost at Torpedo Moscow and after that managed the Belarussian national side. I'm now here in Gateshead and I'm very positive about the clubs future, and I am especially priveleged to be part of this revolution. I'm quite an eccentric guy who's passionate about the game, and I'm also a hardworking manager, especially with tactics. I like playing my 4-5-1 formation and I think I can get my new team of players working with this strategy. Speaking of my players, you'll all be aware I organised a major trials day this summer, to find my new squad of players. I thought it was a good idea, considering it was a new team. So I thought I'd generate a brand new squad without wasting the chairman's money. Overall I am delighted with the squad, 13 of the 24 players in the squad were trialists which has resulted in spare cash for the January transfer window, which I am excited about. Right, I have decided to show you readers our teams strongest starting line-up, I'll be rotating the squad regularly so I know this won't upset any of my players. Even though there are technically two strikers in this formation I still like to call it a 4-5-1 as the SS still acts an attacking midfielder. ![]()
Nathan Delanoue - Such a hard worker, you rarely notice him but he covers so much of the pitch and is exquisit at defending and very useful going forward. Pim Moonen - Even though he's 26, Pim carries so much experience. He's great in the air and always seems to be in the right positions. Sashi Chalwe - As soon as he trialled with us I knew he had potential. Never lets a striker get away and shows immense power when he defends. Marek Szmid - His pace and stamina is a real bonus for our team, will frighten defenders when dribbling up the wing and always tracks back to help the defence. Rodrigo Brana - First name on the team sheet. Rodrigo has great creativity and can pick a pass from anywhere. Can play at his own tempo and make things happen. Michael Howes - Has a great passion for the game. Gives 100% in training and is a fine dribbler. A great crosser of the ball too and we need someone to put balls into the box. Giannis Velonis - Karaoke boy has become a real fan's favourite already. He's a great all round player and can pop up with a few goals from midfield. Makkusu Kobayashi - Our team's secret weapon. One of the best dribblers I have seen for years and I'm sure he will rip defences apart with his skill and determination. Andreas Haglund - He is worth every penny I spent on him. He's just 17, and showing great maturity already. His attacking game is adept in all areas and is quality from set pieces. Jonas Motloung - A powerful centre-forward who can score goals. His presence up top will strike fear into defences and he can form a great partnership with Andreas. So there you have it, I think this club has great potential and I am sure we can prove to the rest of the world that we are capable of coping in the Master League. I'm definitely building for the future, and can definitely see us in Division 1 in a few seasons. On a different note I have also decided who my captain is. I chose Pim Moonen as the skipper, which is no surprise to anyone really. He has had experience as captain at his former club MVV, and I'm sure he has the qualities to become a great captain here. Michael Howes has become vice-captain and will step in for Pim when he's not in action. ![]() Pim Moonen I've now come to the end of my first journal today, now we look towards the game against Birmingham on Saturday, hoping to salvage something out of that, hopefully we can kick off our first professional experience with a win, but who knows. Thanks for reading, ![]() ------------------- ![]() | |

quote DerpDrenthe is playing quite well actually. He scored on his debut and scored in my recent 1-0 win over Derby. My left side of the pitch will be pure quality when both Mehet Sedef and Drenthe peak quote TVIIt was half way through 2021 on PES5 ------------------- Ron says:
