For me, the ML is the main feature of the game and the one that I will use the most. For other people, they will play online or multiplayer more than anything else but, for me, this is what I will spend most of my time on PES doing.

Master League in PES6 was great as usual but I always felt there were so many ways in which they could improve the experience, such as:

Revamped league system; have more than the four basic leagues and each possibly having a sub-league of their own rather than just the one league having so. This would only work if the amount of teams on the game was increased but if that's not possible then they could include the ability to create an indefinite amount of new teams, rather than having to overwrite default teams. Maybe make the amount of leagues/sub-leagues selectable before starting the ML.

Improved development mode; more realistic player development so physical stats remain close to when the player is around 20 and technical and mental stats improving the most. Physical stats would also be the first to decline whilst mental stats could improve indefinitely. If they multiplied the amount of ML youth players four or five-fold than we could possibly get rid of older players regenerating as 17-year-olds altogether.

Improved transfer system; make the transfer list more effective and be able to see the transfer list which would include players from other teams. Make loan deals more attainable to send your youngsters out to smaller clubs to develop and to test out players before signing them permanently. Make teams have long-running interest in specific players and actually target realistic players rather than the current system where teams seem to bid for players randomly without much logic.

Giving players happiness; you shouldn't be allowed to have a squad of 30 world-class players and have them all seemingly delighted to be playing for the club. If players aren't playing games, especially better or older players, then they should let you know about it and ask to play more or be allowed to leave. This should happen at other clubs as well meaning they'd be easier to sign. Happiness would also obviously affect the signing of new contracts.

New currency system; I think this is one that almost everyone has wanted since ML started. Get rid of the points system and involve actual money. It wouldn't be too complex to include some basic ingoing and outgoing finances and this would lead to a much more realistic transfer experience. Unfortunately though, I just can't see them doing this.

What would you like to see incorporated in to the Master League mode in PES2008, and what do you think we can realistically expect to see?

As i mentioned in the PES6 forum the currency issue is too complexed to change. PES points keeps it nice and simpler ather than having different currencies for different countries.

The leagues need to be changed. I prefered the ladder format of the old games where you started in Div 3 and worked up to Div1. Also being able to change team would increase longetivity.

Main thing though would be taking it online making it more competitive and realistic. I doubt it will happen though.

I think one must for Master League is to replicate the PSP version of PES6 by having three divisions.

Transfers can definitely be improved I think, like Tez mentions a transfer list would be good.

Changing teams, now that's one I'd love to see introduced. Still not convinced that using real money would be too complex, though, it's just another way of adding it all up, and a way that more people would be able to relate to, i.e., Barca bidding £16m makes much more sense to the player than them bidding 1,250 PES points.

Erm, yeah.

Would love to see ability to organise leagues in a way inw which you wanted such as league size and all. Real money would be great to see, but hey the PES points is original. Don't really mid if it weren't to change but I'm pretty sure there'll be a great improvement.

Academies are a good idea, you could take your pick from players in your youth team rather than signing them to sit on your bench. They'd still develop in the youth team as well, and maybe you could view other team's academies.

Yeah I agree Tez, it's not as complicated as some people (i.e. Gnels ) are making it out to be.

So what does everyone think of the 3 divisions idea?

It's hard to see why it's in the PSP version of PES6 and not the PS2 one, but for longetivity and a challenge, I think it's great. It's far too easy to move from D2 to D1 on PES6, so it'd be nice if you could increase the challenge not only to go up from D2 to D1, but from D3 to D2.

They could probably get away with using one commonly used currency in each version of the game regardless of whether that particular country uses it, I know I'd rather have Euros, for example, than PES points.

If anything, they could increase the amount of PES points so that they are a bit more realistic. I've always thought that 1000 points is the equivalent of about £1,000,000 so maybe we could start dealing in millions rather than thousands.

I won't be expecting anything to happen to the currency used in the current Master League though, unfortunately.

I would love to see an academy system, instead of having old players reborn into promising 17 year olds, i would like to see an option where you can view your youth team or like in Fifa 07, you get a message telling you about promising players. I would also like to see in Master League your team training before a match, like short runs, stretches, passing etc. I can't see it being on this Pro but it would be a good adition for future games. It could be done where you just pass the ball about and take shots to improve match sharpness and if you push them to hard they get injured. They have something like it with the improve condtion option but it would be cool to see it before matches

That's a great idea that, as long as it sounds realistic there. Singing someone for 2 million sounds well better than a thousand even if theres no currency.
3 divisions would definitely be good to see with 1 division to get promoted to being way to simple and quick.

Personally I prefer my ML's to have realistic leagues, i.e, all Eng teams in one, all Italian in another, so 3-tiered divisions wouldn't be very useful to me unless they had more teams but, then again, we might be able to create them.

There are so many good ideas floating around from PES fans but I just fear that Konami will have too much work getting used to the PS3 system that they don't actually include even half of them.

I do feel though if you want realistic leagues, then you might as well play in League Mode. However, it'd be nice to have the choice.

And in truth, if there was a 3 tier format, you could quite easily create the 24 Championship teams as you mentioned Tez, and that'd work quite well.
