Sevilla F.C
Week 32

Team News
-------------

Barcelona Clinch League Against Sevilla!

After the mid season shocker between Barcelona and Sevilla, the last thing Eric Flynn wanted at the Nou Camp was a worse defeat than the last meeting between the two sides. "I'nm fully confident that my team can go out and give Barcelona a game of football worth watching. Our team have improved so much over the last meeting, with new players and better coaching. I see us with a chance to win the game and if we don't, Barcelona will surely clinch the league, since they are already ten points clear of us." There was over 75,000 people at the game from the start, and surprisingly they were mainly Sevilla fans in the Nou Camp. This was their season game since they were knocked out of the League Cup in the first round against Real Zaragoza, they were looking to go home with three points. As the game started, Sevilla absolutely dominated for the first three or four minutes. The only problem they were having going forward was, they had too many going up. Barcelona clinched a counter attack early on in the fifth minute with Messi played down the right flank just barely onside, but left one on one. Of course, as we thought, Messi put it away and Leáo was rather unlucky in goal. As Barcelona were still celebrating back in their half, the tip off was taken by Kerzhakov, who then passed it to Adriano. Adriano fled down the middle on a solo run, ran by Xavi, Iniesta and Thuram. As he was on his way by Puyol, Puyol took him down in the box, and of course, penalty given. This was directly after Barcelona had scored too, greatest time to score. Kerzhakov stepped up to the task at hand, with a lot of nerves, you could see it in his face he was nervous. But it was a cool finish and he sent it down the middle with Victor Valdes diving left, 1-1. Barcelona tried to do exactly what Sevilla had done, but the ball was intercepted by Martí, who gave a brilliant ball to Jesús Navas down the right side, who put a through ball to Kerzhakov at the edge of the box. Kerzhakov whipped in a cross, looked way too deep, but Duda came out of nowhere with a diving header, 2-1 to Sevilla! The players were ecstatic, celebrating with the subs and everything. Sevilla had now got the confidence to go and take this game even though it was the first half. Creating loads of chances, Sevilla looked like scoring again, many chances. It took up until the 36th minute for Barcelona to concede another goal, Chevanton was the scorer this time, took it so smoothly around the keeper and into an empty net. And that's how the first half ended, 3-1 to Sevilla.

Second half kicked off after a ten minute break. Barcelona came out with a great attack in the second period, really early on Ronaldinho got a goal, 3-2 to Sevilla, Sevilla were asleep. The game continued on and Barcelona were far the better team in this half. But Sevilla got a chance in the 65th minutes through Kerzhakov, and he buried it, Sevilla were back in cruise control, 4-2! It was all Barcelona after that, the fans were going crazy, nervous and biting their nails as the 75th minutes past, while they were still two goals up. All of a sudden, Eto'o breaks through the middle, cracks a shot at Leáo, he parries and the ball hit off Ronaldinho and went in, very lucky goal but they all count! Sevilla were asleep, what happened? Ronaldinho takes the ball off of Keita, the substitute who played terrible. Ronaldinho whips in a cross to meet Henry's head, and it went in, buried Leáo, 4-4. Sevilla were shocked, they couldn't believe it. Sevilla continued to stay asleep, and Barcelona sealed the game 6-4. You could see some of the Sevilla fans crying with shock. Not a great way to end the day for them after playing so well. Sevilla were much the better side in the first half and Barcelona were the better team in the second, "Barcelona are unbeatable!", Eric Flynn stated.

re: Your Master League

Tottenham Hotspur 2007-08 Part 2

Wheeling And Dealing
Manager Liam Coleman stood by his word in the January transfer window, the Englishman brought in four players and let three players leave the club aswell. He acquired the services of veteran Greek defender Traianos Dellas in a swap deal with AEK Athens which saw Portugese defender Ricardo Rocha head off to AEK. He also brought in three promising youngsters in Romanian Cosmin Buga, Korean starlet Hyun Cho Jin Wha and Scottish full-back Allyan Graham. Sadly the services of Dorian Dervitte and Philip Ifil were lost aswell as Ricardo Rocha's, with Dervitte sold to AS Roma and Ifil sold to Real Betis. Coleman held a press conference on January 29th with all his new signings on show.
Coleman had this to say on the matter :

"I knew that Ricardo (Rocha) was unhappy at the club, and i saw it was only fair to let a player of his quality leave. As for Dorian Dervitte and Philip Ifil. They have had minimal game time this season and for players with such potential they should be playing regularly, although I am very happy with the signings of Buga, Graham and Cho Jin Wha. They have very bright careers ahead of them."

Dellas said this on signing with Tottenham :

"It has been a dream of mine to play for an English team, and there aren't many better then Tottenham. I will do my all to support the team and hopefully help us win some trophies."

Korean youngster Hyun Cho Jin Wha also had his word on his new team :

"Ever since i started playing football, i have wanted to play for a big team in Europe, so to play for Tottenham is a dream come true"

Cho Jin Wha is touted as the next Park Chu Young.

Back To Business
Tottenham bounced straight back into there stride with a convincing 4-0 win over Swedish side AIK.
The match started quickly and brightly as Spurs took an early lead as Pascal Chimbonda's cross met the head of Robbie Keane after just 2 minutes.
The scoring continued in the 62nd minute as Darren Bent scored from 1 yard out as a nice move with passes from K.P Boateng, Jermaine Jenas and Steed Malbranque set Robbie Keane through on goal. Keane's shot was saved and Bent was there for a tap-in
The win was secure one minute later as Darren Bent won possession after sloppy defending from AIK and he coolly slotted beyond the AIK keeper. 3-0
There were debuts next for Cosmin Buga and Traianos Dellas in 66th minute replacing Robbie Keane and Ledley King respectively.
Buga made an immediate impact as he scored just 8 minutes after he came on with a bullet header from Steed Malbranque's corner.
Cho Jin Wha also made his debut replacing Darren Bent a minute later.
Spurs next game was an away game against Besiktas, there was a first start of the season for full-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto in turn of a rest for Gareth Bale.
The first goal of the game came from an unlikely source as Pascal Chimbonda scored his first of the season after a square ball from Dimitar Berbatov in the 33rd minute.
The second and final goal of the game came from another unlikely source as Dider Zokora scored his first of the season in the final minute after a nice move involving K.P Boateng and Wayne Routledge resulted in Zokora slipping the ball beneath former Barcelona keeper Rustu Recber.

How Did They Let It Slip
The next fixture for Tottenham Hotspur was not to be one to live long in the memory as they threw away a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Anderlecht.
After a new look Centre Back pairing of Huddlestone and Chimbonda was formed due to fitness issues with Dawson,King,Dellas and Kaboul Anderlecht must of fancied there chances.
The match started well for Tottenham as an Aaron Lennon cross was diverted in by Darren Bent in the 12th minute albeit thanks to poor goalkeeping. The next goal came from Danny Murphy in the 39th minute as he capitalised on a poor headed clearance from a corner by thumping the ball goalwards from 18 yards.
Anderlecht had some hope as a defensive mix-up allowed Mohammed Tchité to pull one back a minute before half-time.
Anderlecht had turned the game around in the 76th minute as Ahmed Hassan equalised after he was left unmarked to slip underneath the helpless Radek Cerny.
In the 90th minute in one of the season's greatest comebacks Tchite found A.Hassan unmarked again to put his second and Anderlecht's third away in a memorable win for the Belgian's.

Cup Rout and Tough Swede's
With Tottenham determined to make amends for the fans who saw them throw away a 2-0 lead, what better way than to beat Argentinian giants River Plate 5-0 in the Cup.
Ben Alnwick started his first game of the season as Cosmin Buga and Allyan Graham made there full debuts.
The scoring started as youngster Buga scored his second goal for the lilywhites in the 32nd minute after a deep cross from strike partner Robbie Keane.
Keane was next on the scoresheet 2 minutes after the break after he was picked out from Teemu Tainio to header from close range. Keane got his second of the game 10 minutes later after good work from Jermaine Jenas resulted in a deflected clearance from Rivr Plate which fell to Keane 20 yards, struck first time and over the keeper. 3-0
Traianos Dellas scored his first for the club as he rose highest to nod home a Jenas corner in the 66th minute.
The rout was complete after substitute Cho Jin Wha was fouled in the box and a penalty was awarded. Cho Jin Wha gave the penalty duties to fellow sub Berbatov, and he made no mistake as he scored the penalty with his first touch of the game.
The next game for Spurs was an feisty encounter with IFK Goteborg the team whi had embarrassed them with a 1-0 win earlier in the season. This match also marked the full debut of Cho Jin Wha.
The match started badly for Spurs as a clumsy challenge from centre half Younes Kaboul gifted Goteborg a penalty in the 10th minute. Swede Niclas Alexandersson dispacthed of the penalty calmly.
7 miunutes later though Jermain Defoe was on hand to pick up the pieces after a poor header from Mattias Bjärsmyr as he equalised. In the 27th minute Spurs were welcomed by a first goal of the season from gangly Centre Back Anthony Gardner as he rose highest from Gareth Bales corner.
New boy Cho Jin Wha was on hand to put way the third 2 minutes after the break after a superb ball from Steed Malbranque sent him wth just the keeper to beat.
Gotegorg did pull one back though in the 67th minute as Adam Johansson outjumped Malbranque to score Goteborgs second.

Another Entertaining Cup Tie
Later that week Spurs travelled to Argentina for the second leg of there cup tie with a healthy 5-0 lead.
Manager Liam Coleman took the rewards of a 5-0 lead by resting key players : Buga,Cho Jin Wha,Bent,Berbatov,Bale and Didier Zokora.
The match started mediocrely as River Plate took an early lead in the 17th minute as Peralta broke through thhe Spurs penalty box and put home a left footed pildriver to make it 1-0 to River Plate on the day. After calamity defending from Spurs Midfielder Zarate rounded Paul Robinson and made the score 2-0 and gave the Los Millonarios a glimer of hope. That glimmer turnt into a serious chance as Zarate finshed again after skillful play by Radamel Garcia.
All of River Plate's hopes were dashed in the 83rd minute. With the Argies pushing for 2 more goals they were left exposed at the back, and as K.P Boateng, Robbie Keane and Wayne Routledge combined for Routledge to put into an empty net the result was now confirmed. Spurs held on to win 6-3 on aggregiate.

Title Contenders?
After yet another entertaining away game in the cup, the next Spurs game saw a different tone as Spurs travelled to Greece to play AEK Athens. Welsh starlet got yet another assist as his left footed corner was nodded in by Jermain Defoe in the 37th minute. Tottenham scored again in the 55th minute after a swift counter attack Aaron Lennon linked up with Berbatov and Defoe. Berbatov layed the ball off to Defoe who did a 1-2 with him, as the prolific Bulgarian raced towards goal. Berbatov's initial shot was saved by the AEK number 1 but the rebound fell to the head of Berbatov as he made it 2-0 with a header into an empty net.
Spurs were back in business soon after disposing off Olympiacos scoring 5 again.
After a deep cross from Wayne Routledge veteran keeper Nikopolidis went to clear the ball under pressure from Darren Bent and team mate Julio Cesar. They all jumped up to meet the ball, but it was Nikipolidis who got there first, sadly for him knocking the ball into his own net after only 8 minutes.
The scoring picked up again after the break with Wayne Routledge's cross being slid in by Darren Bent after 62 minutes.
Wayne Routledge was again at the heart of the 3rd goal as after neat trickery from Robbie Keane, Routledge picked up the ball squared it to Danny Murphy who put it away from 12 yards in the 77th minute.
The 4th goal came via a lucky deflection from Ulsterman Robbie Keane in the 83rd minute. After a pass from Bent, Keane struck the ball goalwards. It hit the unlucky Nikopolidis and has rebounded onto Keane's knee to make it 4-0.
There was a consolation for Olympiacos however as poor defending from Chimbonda gave Cypriot Michalis Konstantinou a chance to pull one back as he smashed home from 6 yards in injury time.
The scoring had not finished as straight from the kick off Didier Zokora burst into the Olympiacos box and crossed a delightful ball onto the head of Fin Teemu Tanio in the 90th Minute to make the score 5-1.

Spurs In Goal Draught Crisis?
After the rich results of the previous weeks, Tottenham's goal ratio seemed to drop. The first sign of this was a narrow 2-1 win against Galatasary where Spurs looked far from convincing and not the team which had been scoring for fun. Goals from Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon kept Spurs in contention after Umit Karan's stunning opener.

Argie Bargie
More signs were revealed in the next fixture a tricky away game in Argentina against River Plate. Spurs had already fell foul to the Argies once this season in the cup, surely River couldn't do a double over the mighty Spurs.
The match started terribly for Tottenham as they saw young winger Wayne Routledge sent off by Columbian referee Carlos Quartez in the 18th minute for a mistimed sliding challenge worthy of a booking. 14 Minutes later Jermain Defoe made a synical 2 footed challenge from behind on Peralta, but not even a foul was given, Routledge must've felt very hard done by seeing this go missed. The breakthrough came in the 54th minute as Peralta drove low through Robinson in what was a poor attempt of a save from the England number 1. Tottenham's woe was compunded in the 73rd minute as Didier Zokora was the next player to be sent for an early bath by Quartez as as he was awarded a second yellow for a harsh shoulder barge, Tottenham were now down to 9 men.
Much like the AEK Cup tie earlier in the season, this match was surely dominated by referee Carlos Quartez's decision making.

The Pain Continues
After last week's shock defeat to River Plate, Tottenham were looking to bounce back with a win against Swiss power FC Basel.
The match started brightly for Spurs with a stunning volley from Anthony Gardner being matched with an equally stunning save from Franco Constanzo. Minutes later however it was Gardner's poor defending which allowed Basel captain Ivan Ergic to squeeze a shot between Robinson and his near post in the 42nd minute. From the Kick Off a remarkable run from Bulgarian Berbatov saw him equalise a matter of seconds after Ergic's opener with a mazy run past 6 players saw him fire a shot in from 25 yards.
The match then seemed to dye out as just after the break Danny Murphy was sent off after receiving a second bookable offence. Murphy was the 3rd Tottenham player to see red in 2 games.

Defoe Outclasses Belgian's
Next in the line for Tottenham was an explosive match with Club Brugge.
The scoring started in the 20th minute when a through ball from Jermaine Jenas found his namesake Defoe on the edge of the Brugge penalty box. Defoe let the ball run and then fired home from 20 yards past keeper Stijn Stijnen.
8 Minutes later Defoe got his brace after a Teemu Tainio corner was flicked on by big french defender Younes Kaboul towards goal, the ball fell at Defoe's feet a yard out from goal, he couldn't miss. 2-0
Defoe ended a satisfying half by scoring his third in the 41st minute after Defoe battled well to win possession off Belgian Gaëtan Englebert he strode forward to the edge of the box and fired home a lethal shot.
It was the Belgian side to score next as François Sterchele pull one back for the visitiors after another blunder from Paul Robinson saw the ball go underneath his body with 59 minutes gone.
Jermain Defoe couldn't have believed his luck in the 75th minute as Darren Bent looked set to score he squared the ball to Defoe and he collected his fourth of the game.
The final goal of the bout was somewhat comical as team mates Priske and Alcaraz collided going for the same ball, Defoe picked up the remains and burst in on goal, he shimmied left past Brugge captain Philippe Clement and slotted the ball under the keeper to break a Tottenham record.
The match ended with Defoe quite clearly the happiest player on the pitch. He said this after the game :

"It's unbelievable. I would have never thought i'd play today and score 5. I've only ever scored 1 hat-trick in a reserve team game, so to score 5 past the former Belgian champions is maginficent. Everything seemed to fall to me today, the riccochets, the rebounds and great passes from Darren and JJ i thank the whole team."
Defoe's 5 goals put him into second place in the Scorer's list 1 goal behind strike partner Darren Bent.

Turkish Delight
After the previous week's emphatic win and Jermain Defoe's masterclass hope's were high as the top two in the league met at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.
It was Fenerbahce Vs Tottenham.
Fenerbahce took a shock lead after 24 minutes courtesy of Serbian Mateja Kezman as he struck past an out of position Paul Robinson.
Kezman doubled the Turks lead in the 54th minute when Ugar Boral beat his man and sent a square ball to Kezman to finish from 6 yards.
Spurs pulled one back though in the 64th minute thanks to a commanding header from Anthony Gardner after a Steed Malbranque corner.
Spurs levelled 4 minutes later after young German Kevin Prince Boateng headed past Sedar Kulbilge after good work from Dimitar Berbatov and a cross From Aaron Lennon.
Tottenham took the lead after another Malbranque corner was headed in by 2 goal hero and stand in skipper Anthony Gardner in the 73rd minute.
The result was confirmed in the 90th miute as Tom Huddlestone headed in what turned out to be Malbranque's 3rd assist of the game. Spurs manager Liam Coleman had this to say after the amazing comeback

"Today was unbelivable. I thought we couldn't have a better result than last week but look what has happened, we've won the game 4-2 after being 2-0 down, that show's a tremendous amount of character and determination. This is my most proudest moment as manager of Tottenham Hotspur"

A Scottish Double Header And A Ukranian Shock
After two wins in a row Tottenham's minor blip was over, there next opponents were Scottish outfit Rangers.
Spurs took the lead in the 28th minute as a nice trough ball from Teemu Tainio found winger Wayne Routledge in space. Routledge ran 50 yards in the Rangers half before passing to Cosmin Buga to open the scoring from 6 yards.
The second was a very unlucky own goal. Pascal Chimbonda delivered a superb ball into the 6 yard box, Teemu Tainio, Brahim Hemdani and Rangers stopper Allan McGregor all dived for the ball with Tainio coming out on top. His header was at McGregor and it rebounded onto the helpless airbourne Hemdani and was diverted into his own net.
The 3rd was almost equally confusing as Wayne Routledge's cross was met by the head of Jermain Defoe. McGregor saved Defoes effort but the ball fell to Teemu Tainio who bundled the ball into the net this time with the last touch.
Rangers pulled one back almsot immediately after the break as Jean Claude Darcheville struck a sweet half volley pasy Robinson after a pinpoint ball from Lee McCulloch.
Tottenham scored a 4th though as Cosmin Buga got his 2nd of the match and his 4th for the club as Jermain Defoe did the hardwork drawing McGregor off his line before passing to the Romanian to finish into an empty net.
Defoe himself continued his rich run of goalscoring form scoring his 6th in 2 games after Danny Murphy lead a counter attack, he slipped a perfectly weighted ball to Defoe who cut into the box and lashed home past McGregor.

After another emphatic result Spurs had another busy week with 3 games in 7 days. The second of these games was a tough home tie against Dynamo Kiev in the Semi Final of the D2 Cup.
Tottenham started the better of the two sides taking the lead in the 6th minute after a slick pass from Chimbonda sent Aaron Lennon down the wing with yards of space. Lennon's ball was served up on a plate for Irishman Robbie Keane who controlled well and poked home at the back post.
Kiev equalised in the 10th minute as a poorly defended corner from Marjan Markovic was met by the head of Gavrancic to level the scores.
Kive with the momentum and a bit of luck on there side took the lead in the 16th minute as Anthony Gardner tried to control a awkward bouncing ball and was dispossessed by Maksim Shatskikh who scored from 2 yards.
The long awaited Spurs equliser came in the 57th minute as Jermaine Jenas' header was well placed beyond Oleksandr Shovkovskiy after a Steed Malbranque delivery. With Kiev's 2 away goals in the bag Spurss knew they would have to go to the Ukraine and score at least 2 to have any chance of a place in the final of the D2 Cup.

Tottenham's next game saw them host Scottish champion's Celtic at White Hart Lane.
The match started poorly for the home side as a well worked free kick from Japanese playmaker Shinsuke Nakamura was flicked on by Kenny Miller and turned in by Jan Vennegoor Of Hesselink after only 5 minutes.
Spurs equalised on the stroke of half time as another one of Gareth Bale's trademark corner's was headed in by Michael Dawson. Then the turning point of the match happened less than a minute later and deep into injury time, past the 2 minutes that had been allocated. Aiden McGeady "scored", Tottenham staff and players were outraged as McGeady's shot was saved by Radek Cerny but linesman Howard Jones had given the goal. On video evidence the whole of the ball did not cross the line. Spurs flew out of the traps at the start of the second period with Darren Bent equlising after winning possession from Scott Brown. Celtic however only improved after this.
A deft Vennegoor Of Hesselink header into the stride of Scot Kenny Miller put the Hoops ahead in the 53rd minute after Miller put the ball underneath Radek Cerny.
5 minutes later Celtic strenghtened there lead after a loew Aiden McGeady cross was diverted in by Miller.
Miller completed his hat-trick in the 83rd minute as he breached the two man Tottenham defence after Spurs deployed a 2-3-4 formation.
With this damaging defeat to the Hoops, will the boys from N17 crumble and surrender there title challenge?

Spurs Slowlly Regain Pace
After last week's horror show at home to Celtic. Tottenham took off to Serbain capital for a daunting match agaisnt Red Star Belgrade. The match started slowly with Pole Grzegorz Bronowicki being booked for a dive in the 26th minute. The only goal of the game came 2 minute's before half time as Dimitar Berbatov scored. The goal was down to an unfortunate from Red Star keeper Ivan Ranđelović. Ranđelović was caught in possession by Spurs Midfielder Danny Murphy as Ranđelović came out of his box to clear. Murphy won the ball with a perfect sliding challenge and tried to shoot on the turn, Murphy's shot was straigh at Ranđelović who was off his lin some 20 yards out. The rebound fell to Dimitar Berbatov who casually poked home into and empty net.
The second was almost non-existent as neither team looked like scoring, the match finished 1-0 to Tottenham.

Tottenham's next game was against FC Copenhagen. The team they had scored 5 against earlier in the season.
The scoring opened in the 59th minute as Dane Rasmus Wurtz sidestepped Paul Robinson and rolled the ball home after a poor show of defending.
Copenhagen had a second 6 minutes later as Brazilian Ailton squared a ball accross the 18 yard line to the prolific Swedish striker Marcus Allback.
Spurs pulled one back in the 68th minute as Jermain Defoe rised highest to meet Paul Stalteri's inviting cross.
Spurs salvaged an equliser 10 minutes later as Ivory Coast international Didier Zokora scored his second of the season from close range after Wayne Routledge passed from the byline to Zokora to strike from 5 yards.
With Tottenham happy with the draw both teams hung on for a point in an entertaining clash.
3 Days later Tottenham were in action again, this time for there second leg with Dynamo Kiev in the D2 Cup. Spurs came to Kiev knowing they would need to scored at least two goals, as Kiev had done in the first leg.
Kiev struck first courtesy of a low shot from Uzbekistani International Maksim Shatskikh in the 8th minute.
Spurs gained one back though in the 32nd minute after a deep cross from Kevin Prince Boateng was headed dow from Dimitar Berbatov to Aaron Lennon to fire home on the half volley. Spurs were in trouble after the break though as keeper Paul Robinson was sent off for the second time in the cup this year after a sliding challenge on Shatskikh in the 55th minute.
Tottenham were ecstatic in the 81st minute after a great run by French defender Pascal Chimbonda was followed by a perfectly weighted cutback to Berbatov who struck home to give Spurs the lead for the first time in the tie.
Pascal Chimbonda however was not finished, as a superb sliding tackle on the halfway line won him possession, he unselfishly picked out late substitute Cho Jin Wha who fired past Shovkovskiy to put the result beyond doubt.

Ivanschitz Shines
Spurs next game was at home to Greek power outfir Panathinaikos in what was one of the best games of the season.
The Greek side took an 9th minute lead after Loukas Vyntra's powerful shot was adjudged to have crossed the line after Paul Robinson made another mistake in his baron run of form.
Austrian midfielder Andreas Ivanschitz made it two not long after with a superb free kick from 28 yards.
Spurs pulled one back 4 minutes after the break as Darren Bent shot home to score his 14th of the season after Danny Murphy's well executed pass.
Spurs eqalised with 62 minutes gone after Paul Stalteri's cross was headed in by South Korean Cho Jin Wha.
Spurs took the lead for the first time after Steed Malbranque's crunching tackle on Joseph Enakarhire fell kindly to him. He adavnced towards goal before laying the ball of to Darren Bent to score and put Tottenham ahead in the 80th minute.
Then .... step up Austria's answer to David Beckham as Andreas Ivanschitz scored two free kicks in injury time to give the Greek side a memorable win at White Hart Lane.

Champion's In Kiev
Tottenham's next fixture took them to Kiev for the second time in two weeks. With Tottenham having a healthy lead over Fenerbahce a win in Kiev would crown the English side Division 2 champions.
Spurs started the brighter of the two as Jermaine Jenas scored in the 18th minute after a pass from Lee Barnard.
Next on the scoresheet was Wayne Routledge with his first goal in 20 games as he headed past Oleksandr Shovkovskiy after a cross by Kevin Prince Boateng.
Lee Barnard made it 3-0 to Spurs after he stretched furthest to turn in Robbie Keane's cross 10 minute's before the break.
It wasn't all good news for Spurs though as stand in keeper Radek Cerny was given a straight red for fouling Maksim Shatskikh in the box after 76 minutes.Paul Robinson came on for Pascal Chimbonda. Goran Gavrančić made no mistakes with the penalty sending Robinson the wrong way and grabbing a consolation for the Ukranians.
Tottenham made it 4 however in the dying embers of the game as Robbie Keane headed Boateng's cross just over the line.

Spurs were crowned champion's after the match and manager Liam Coleman had this to say :

"It's a truly great moment for the club, for me and for the fan's. It's my first season with the vlub and when i stood up for the job i knew i had a squad who were capable of winning things, and look. Were 9 months down the line and were spraying champaigne. It's a great feeling."

D2 Cup Final - Spurs vs Anderlecht
Tottenham took the lead in the 6th minute when Tom Huddlestone's strike was well struck and on target with Anderlecht keeper Zitka getting a finger tips on it but to no avail. 1-0
Dimitar Berbatov made it two after a corner taken by Jermaine Jenas found it's way to Huddlestone. Huddlestone's shot was struck into the danger area and after a few ricchochets the ball fell to Biglia who was tackled by Younes Kaboul on the 6 yard line, the ball fell to Berbatov less than 3 yards out who smashes the ball into the top of the net with just 16 minutes on the clock.
A wuick counter attack by the Belgians saw them pull one back as Mbark Boussoufa put past Ben Alnwick in the 39th minute.
Jermaine Jenas make its three with 55 minutes on the clock. After robbing Anderlecht captain Olivier Deschacht of possession on the edge on the Belgian's penalty box before coolly slippng the ball beneath Zitka.
The game finsihes 3-1 to Spurs with captain Ledley King holding the D2 Cup trophy aloft his head.

Final Fixtures
Tottenham's final 3 games of the season were an away game to HJK Helsinki, a home tie agaisnt Hammarby and the final game of the away to AIK in Sweden.
A new look Tottenham took the field against Helsinki with a 4-3-3 formation on show. Notably captain Ledley King was deputised in a Central Midfield role, with Gareth Bale playing as a Left Midfielder and a tri-pronged attack force of Wayne Routledge, Lee Barnard and the expreienced Robbie Keane.
The tri-pronged attack force worked well with Routledge and Keane running the flanks, and in the 19th minute the deadlock was broken after Lee Barnard layed the ball off to Routledge who chipped a ball into the 6 yard box which was controlled by Jermaine Jenas. Jenas' shot was saved by Helsinki stopper Johansson but the ball fell kindly for Welshman Gareth Bale to score his first for the club.
In the 30th minute, Paul Robinson was sent off for the 3rd time this season after Helsinki striker Mika Nurmela conned referee Paul Bergstrom into a penalty after a blatent dive. Nurmela stood up to take the penalty and if was almost saved by substitute goalie Ben Alnwick who pushed it onto the post and it rolled in.
Tottenham were infuriated again by referee Bergstrom as he sent off Scot Allyan Graham for a sliding challenge in the 78th minute leaving Spurs with a 2-3-3 formation.
Tottenham had even more reason to be outraged 3 minutes later as Midfielder Jermine Jenas was sent off for a sliding challenge which only warranted a booking.
Spurs held on for the remaining few minutes in this feisty affair which saw 3 straight red cards.

After a week off for all the sides in the league, Spurs returned to action agaisnt Hammarby at White Hart Lane.
16 minutes in defender Michael Dawson makes it 1-0 after heading a Gareth Bale corner past the Swedish side.
Danny Murphy doubles Tottenham's lead in the 35th minute after a great solo run into the Hammarby box followed by a nice finish between Hellstrom and his near post.
Spurs were incenced in the final minute as Pascal Chimbonda was sent off for a sliding challenge in the 6th minute of extra time, after 3 minutes were orginally allocated.

Tottenham's final game of the campaign was an away game to AIK. With controversial matches over the last two weeks Spurs were hoping to end the 07/08 campaign on a high.
The match started well for Spurs as in the 23rd minute Robbie Keane sent a cross into the box to the unmarked Cosmin Buga to collect his 5th of the season.
Tottenham put the game to sleep in the 80th minute. A Grahm through ball over the top to Kevin Prince Boateng was cutback to Cho Jin Wha to score after coming on for Buga.

Honours And Awards
So Tottenham left Sweden with numerous honours and awards,
They had one the League and the Cup double and had Darren Bent win the prestigous Division 2 Golden Boot and Wayne Routledge won the Most Assists award. They also were the league's top scorers scoring a staggering 89 goals in league games.
Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale won awards in the D2 Cup with Lennon winning Golden Boot (tied with Jermain Defore,Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov) and Bale winning the Most Assist award with 4.

Gareth Bale also had more reason to cheer as he was voted Tottenham Hotspur young player of the year, juts pipping Michael Dawson and last years winner Aaron Lennon.
Ledley King also had reason to cheer winning the Tottenham Hotspur player of the year. A fitting reward for the captain who played such an influential role in Tottenham's promotion winning season.

So when i post the reports. That'll be the reason the first three will be quite bare

re: Your Master League

I go away for a couple days over Christmas and the forum starts to explode into life lol.

Good work Messi and Eric, bot very good reports I just started a ML with FC Twente because I enjoyed the Eredvisie Challenge last year and I'm operating a 3-3-4 due to having a lot of strikers. I will let you all know how it works out soon

re: Your Master League

Thanks DT. I'll be hoping to complete my first season tonight when I go up onto my Xbox, might be up all night since I've nothing planned but sleep tomorrow morning, looking forward to the transfer window also, will be looking for the likes of Huntelaar, Micah Richards and Heitinga. And more of which I can't think of right now.

re: Your Master League

I've sold a few Gooners and re-signed Henry + the services of Diego to knock Gilberto Silva out of his place.

I started with the orginal ML team, but 25weeks in, they couldn't hit anything, and it became a waste of time in the end. Hense Arsenal game.

re: Your Master League

I am going to post up a pre-season summary with an interview about my FC Twente game. It would be nice if a few people could PM me with a few questions they would like answered. Also, if you want, you can include your own fake Dutch name
