Everybody says, "Well lightsabers should cut through steel swords." In Star Wars there exists a mineral called cortosis which is resistant to lightsaber blades, it can be implemented into vibroblades or the SW equivalent of swords. So yes steel swords can withstand lightsaber strikes. Thought I'd clear that up for you.

The SC Realm is clearly different from our own, so who knows if their weapons are any more resistant to anything than our own. But clearly they are resistant to light sabers, since we see Mitsurugi going head-to-head with Vader.

The main basis of that theory is that every place and historical feature (aside from, of course, the canonical demonic and angelic entities) are formed from the Earth's history. The chances of it having countries, the mythologies and fighting styles of Earth and having it not set on Earth are very slim. This is why it has been generally accepted that SC is set on Earth, which is why there would be no cortosis and which is why a steel katana holding it's own against a lightsaber is silly. Now I know the majority of things (e.g. slicing at someone furiously without scarring them, Nightmare, the size of Taki's breasts) are unrealistic, but there's a certain line between unrealistic and silly and pitting a lightsaber against a steel blade is crossing it, IMO.

That's irrelevant. Whether Cortosis can make steel hold it's own against a lightsaber isn't what's being debated, it's whether or not cortosis has magically been implanted out of nowhere into everyones weapons. All you're saying is that the magic of SC and the science of Star Wars make as much (or as little, if you will) sense as each other, thus (to the debate at hand) that's irrelevant

Not all the weapons are made of steel...there's wooden ones and iron ones mostly.

It's just ridiculously out there. I thought Star Wars was set in the way future, regardless of what the beginning of the films say.

Wow. I can't believe people are acually debating this. Why? Yes lightsabers would just destroy the other weapons, cept the soul swords, but who really cares? I'm just happy that there are two awesome guest characters. I was hearing rumors that Pirates of the Carribean would be in this. That would have SUCKED! Yeah, Yoda and Vaders storys won't fit, but neither did Hehatchi and Spawns but they were still fun to play as and cool. Just accept that they are in the game and enjoy how awesome it is

Kratos would have been the best way to go as far as the PS3 side is concerned.

And yeah Kratos would have been cool, but I actally prefer Vader and Yoda. but thats just me. It seems to me that ppl always say Kratos for PS3 but don't have anyone in mind for the 360.

Yeah Link was sweet, that's why I got SC II for GC.

That would be pretty cool, cept the Overlord himself doesn't do much, its the minions but he'd still be cool and they could give him moves, but too little too late.

Same, i got it for GC cuz of Link, i just pick the one with the coolest character. This time I'm really tempted to get both, cuz I think they are both awesome, and I wanna pre-order cuz the stuff u get it sweet. But I'll prob just get PS3 if I get the console soon lol

I'd get the 360 version but meh, no one to really play with. All the buddies on XBL are shooter fans.
