what do you expect from level 1s?
I plan out how I attack before I strike, if they are a button masher i take them out right away. (i also wait to see which kind of character they choose first and then choose a character that will strike better than that character) ------------------- ![]() Fragments of Darkness, Shards of Light. those are the people who don't guard (or barley) and keep spamming the same attacks.
i don't spam. i attack at random. ------------------- ![]() Fragments of Darkness, Shards of Light. I shall use them to create something powerful.

Once I figure whether a person is a button masher, or just a newbie (they'll eventually block your strings, but will never think of ducking or sidestepping them, and any attempt to strike back results in a counter hit), I tend to abuse the quick-hitting traps of AA and BB.
I finally started playing Ranked matches online, and the connections seem a little better, or at least, I've yet to experience any real lagging. I was against a Lv.40 Algol user. He just kept spamming Algol's cheap verticals and low horozontals. I beat him with pretty much straight KKK's with Taki. I couldn't believe a noob like that got to such a high level. I guess that's why he was using Algol. His % ratio was pretty laughable despite being lv.40. I've only played 4 ranked matches so far though. -------------------

I don't want to talk my ass out here but with the matches i've had yet i'll say it's no big surprise that a spammer made his way up.
I'm too stressed yet during fights to even think about rank matches but some beginners or noobs may be foolish enough to try with what they know and just be lucky. Then again, if he made his way up, then he must have fought weaker opponents than himself i presume. *bleep*, Cervantes was stucked in place against Ray's Taki. I know the mistakes i did but i did them repetively! That angers me but that being said. I'll try not to be that passive again. ------------------- ![]()

I've fought 36 Ranked matches so far.
So far my win rate is around 80% with 28 wins and 8 losses. 6 of the matches where I lost was against an opponent with 1-3 bars. My suggestion for anyone who plasn to play ranked matches: - Create your own session. - Wait for opponent. - If opponent has less than 3 bars, leave. - If opponent has 4 or 5 bars, then proceed with the match. The 1 bar match I had was insane. I couldn't even move. >_< I'd duck a throw two seconds ahead, but still get thrown, sidestep and get hit by very linear verticals... @___@ quote SlinkingtonSo long as the connection is no less than 4 bars, you can grow used to the lag and input your moves a little ahead of time. So when you see your character performing the first part of your combo, you're already done inputing the second part, and probably already inputing the third...ect... Anything more then 0.5 seconds of lag though, and it's pretty hopeless. -------------------

Jecht44 PSN ID- DetectiveBlksmth I havent played Ranked just yet. I'm still prepping by wrecking shop in the player matches.. but All of last night I was beatin that ass on a bunch of poor kids. I must've went about 20 matches without losing before I got cocky and decided to use Astaroth (who I dont know how to use very well) and the next person happened to pick Kilik (whom I hate). The thing I've discovered is that everyone I've encountered plays super casually. No one ever catches on to the fact that guard impacting ruins their strategies. Thats why I utilize it as much as possible. Especially cuz people spam mid to high attacks anyways. Although in one match this kid started catching on by gurad impacting my blows also.. however it didn't stop me from beating him. It just prolonged the match. And I laugh at the people who use Hilde. The match is basically over after they make that decision. ------------------- Brawl Tag: 2277-6327-7307

I think that if I'm going to attempt to verse you all u will wait and get some training in. I use to be relatively good on SC III with a variety of characters, as of now I have lost my skills.
Just going off on a bit of a tangent but...Does anyone know when the GD for SC IV is going to be created (that's if there isn't already one, can't say I've seen one), the reason I asked of this is because I would rather want a place to talk about little things rather than creating a new thread for each idea ------------------- ![]() ![]()

Meh, i guess SC gd could work but i don't want other gd stuff where everything can go one way or an other. I hate debates about religion especially.

quote Ray_MasamuneHmm, interesting. I'm just happy to see another Maxi player around here, heh. I love Maxi's moveset, he is like the ultimate 'attack canceller' (as in, quick attacks which prevent the enemy from making a move). I need to get online...problem is that I've got too much on my plate with parties and such. Too much. -_- Why am I not on the list, Ray? <_< -------------------
