New Heavy Rain Artwork & Screenshots Released |
|
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- [ via GameGrep | Read & Rate ] Set to change the way games are played, Heavy Rain has caught the attention of many gamers for it's gameplay and unique style of giving control. However, since the initial video that was shown at E3 a couple years back and the video shown at the Games Convention 2008 and until now we weren't given many screens... that is until now... take a look at the screenshots below as well as at the source. Yes, it is very much a game... a cinematic game, but a game nonetheless...

It's a game. You control your character like you would a game, walk around, run and even jump. Where this game changes is in it's combat and narative, you still control the cutscenes and the events are contextually mapped within the gameworld. These are quick time events like no other, in games of old a big vulgar button would pop up on screen flashing, this changes that and makes it intuitive and makes more sense. Personally i cannot wait to play this game and all i hope is i complete it with all 4 characters left alive haha.

The gameplay is still mostly press button now...
This disappoints me a little bit, but the concept of investigation on controlling the story sounds amazing... -------------------

I believe that peoples mis-conceptions of what quick time events used to be and what it now is will be changed once they get into the whole mood of it. Once players buy into the whole feeling of emotion and tension they will be hanging off of those quick time events. When one mistake could spell permanent death these quick time sequences will really work in this game.
