	Hey, welcome to my SOMS for the England national side. I have already done the qualification and tournament for the European cup 2008, so I will update you on this before the actual SOMS begins, during the World Cup qualifiers. This post is a simple fixtures post, over the first three years of my game. The year 2006 went extremely well, with not a single draw or loss. I then went on to the year 2007 at the top of my group, but only by goal difference to Russia. This year went pretty much the same way, with only one draw against Russia. 2007 also saw a big win against Italy 4-0. This message was edited by chesney on Jun 22 2009. 	Now I had qualified for Europe, I was to face France, Spain, and Denmark in the group stage. I got through that in first with five points, to beat Portugal 2-0 in the quarter finals. The semis were me and Switzerland, and Italy and France. I beat Switzerland 1-0, to play Italy in the final. It was a thrilling game, ending after a last minute goal. Losing in the last minute was a crushing blow, but we did well to come runner up. We then went to finish 2008 with two games in World Cup Qualifiers.

	A completely outmatched Scotland was beaten 7-2 today by England. A great hat-trick from Defoe and two red cards for Scotland both contributed greatly for England's crushing victory. quote Chesney A great victory, if we keep playing like this we shall blitz our way into the World Cup on a high.

	Another domination from England saw them secure a 5-0 victory over Switzerland. An unchanged side from the Scotland game dominated for much of the match. quote Chesney Another great performance from the lads. We should have a great result in the confederations cup now.

	Confederations Cup The confederations cup group stage draw was me against Brazil U23s, Nigeria and the hosts Germany. The Nigeria game turned out to be a loss today despite England's domination. quote Chesney Such a shame that we couldn't pull off the result we deserve here. This makes the Germany game a must win. The Germany game was a thrilling game right to the final whistle, finishing 3-2. Three of the five goals were within the last 10 minutes. 	England finally managed a win in the Confederations Cup. A Brazil dominated first half was turned around in the second half with 3 goals from England. quote Chesney A great final game, I have to congratulate the boys on winning this. If we could have played like this against Nigeria or Germany we would've been through. The final group standing looks like this:

	Sorry for not posting recently. My PC's graphics card bust and it took ages to even find out it was the graphics card (I thought the monitor broke and bought another one lol) anyway, on with the post. __________ After the Confederations Cup loss, England went into the Northern Island World Cup qualifier with low spirits. England drew 1-1, despite scoring an early goal from Defoe. quote Chesney A dissapointing game. We aren't going to qualify if we play like this for the rest of the year.

	The Faroe Islands game could not have come at a better time for England. They dominated through all of the match to win 5-0. This means that a win in the next game against Bosnia will qualify England to the South African 2010 World Cup. A draw can do the same depending on the Scotland vs Switzerland result.

	The all important Bosnia game arrived with England in high spirits. However, a couple of injuries saw some younger players enter the lineup. Stewart Downing was replaced with Keiran Richardson on his England debut and the injured keeper Robertson was replaced by Robert Green. However, the game was still played well and a win for England saw them qualify for 2010. quote Chesney A great game with a great result. I congratulate the players on qualification.

	Now that the Scotland game doesn't matter, the England boss decided to play a younger squad, giving debuts to 3 players. This resulted in a closer game, with an early goal from Kieran Richardson in just his second England game, and then a quick double from Scotland. The half time score was 2-1, and the second half saw Scotland in charge. 70 minutes in, the England boss substituted on some more experianced players, which then led to England becoming increasingly more dangerous until a last minute goal from Michael Owen equalised the match to make England unbeaten throughout all of the qualifiers. Final score: 2-2 quote Chesney A good performance from the youngsters, especially Richardson. We could be seeing him a bit more after his performances. 	The last match of 2009 was a friendly against Austria. Playing a mixture of young players and the usual favorites, England dominated and won 3-0. The game started with an instant attack from England. They continuously piled on the pressure till it became too much for Austria, and Rio Ferdinand scored 1-0. After the second half, Austria fancied their chances, with England concentrating more on their defensive efforts. However, Owen broke through twice to finish the game, 3-0. quote Chesney A solid performance from the squad. South Africa isn't far away now, and I am anxious to see who we are up against in the group stage.

	Now that 2009 is over, we can look back on the year's results. quote Chesney A very mixed year for us, from the great results in the world cup qualifiers to the dissapointing Confederations Cup. Hopefully we can bring back the results of 2007 and 2008 for 2010.

	The World Cup draw came around, and saw England be put into a relatively easy group with Saudi Arabia, Cameroon and Turkey. quote Chesney I am pretty pleased with the draw here, we should quite easily reach the knockout stages.

	Europe 2012 qualification draw was announced today. England were put into a 5 team group with Northern Island, Liechenstein, Wales and Serbia quote Chesney Another easy qualification draw, we are confident we can get into Europe 2012. __________ As you can see, I am trying to make the SOMS neater and better, if you have any suggestions, please comment.
