Everybody's getting a C2D based system...I feel old and dated with my S939 Opteron.

lol, alex yeah i would think that computer saavy people like yourselves would keep updates and already have the Quad cores and stuff! Did you get the amazing rig for christmas you were hoping for all year? My computer's already close to two years old.. i'm getting bored of it. I might sell and redo it with one of those fancy AMD x2 6400+ BE things, I hear they're better.. GO intel!!

re: Cowspoo's Computer(SOLD) new specs posted

Well, that was quick

How long did you own this set-up? Or are you just planning on selling it? Or have you found a buyer but haven't made the transaction yet?

Once this rig leaves your possession you are allowed to create a new worklog thread and this one(if you want) will be closed. Either way, it will have a "sold" caption appended to the thread's caption just like ParanahJoe's last rig.

re: Cowspoo's Computer(Selling) new specs posted

I've owned it since August of 2006. I'm currently planning on selling it, a friend is really interested and his dad will think about it overnight if he wants to do it. It's looking very good since I only decided to sell it last night

I'm sticking with Intel so i assume the process will be the same =] I'll be more interested in becoming more detailed with my overclocks learning new features and ram. One customer responded on newegg that he was able to get the OCZ ram to run at 3-5-5-5 CR-1. it sounds good, lets hope

Okay, i'll rename until the transaction occurs. I'll then close this..

re: Cowspoo's Computer(Selling) new specs posted

For my new computer..I wanna set up RAID 0. I plan to get a cheap HDD and put the os and system crap on it only then get like a 250 or 320GB HDD and store my music, pictures on that. QUESTION is .. will RAID work with two different HDD?

EDIT: PART 2. I want to dual boot xp and vista on this new pc.. that will be fine with raid? or.. wouldnt i need each OS on its own hdd

each os will need its own PARTITION... you can have multiple partitions on one hard drive.

re: Cowspoo's Computer(Selling) new specs posted

and you can have multiple partitions on a raid platter. 2x250 is one 500gb raid platter. you can easily divide that into two 250gb aprtitions, each using 125gb off each drive. this way its still raid speed.

re: Cowspoo's Computer(Selling) new specs posted

Yeah, i was confused about how it all worked.. RAID is .. having 2 Cheap HDDs to install the OS and games on in RAID 0 and having a 3rd HDD for music and movies. I don't want to go with raid really. What are your views on the PMR HDD's like this Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD7500AAKS 750GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive. It's supposed to be 7-15% performance gain in writing information, not seeking it.

Where can I get a c2d e8400? Buy . com has one i've never used them..
