re: Player1's Rig

well, water cooling is not my thing, because it doesnt look good. i mean, if i had a decent rig, i wouldnt want the water pipes adding to the clutter. i know that theyre quite manageable, but ive just seen some horribly done water cooling kits which look like an absolute jungle, and its contributed to the fact that it has put me off it for such reasons. no, for me, its fans all the way. simple, effective enough, and not too messy

Oh haha, I like the way the tubing looks, especially if you get the wires outa the way.

I also want to try TEC cooling as well though.

re: Player1's Rig

yeah that seems more enticing.

honestly though ive got this crazy idea of making some cooling system which looks like a jet engine, but with the concept of the turbocharger. you get the idea?

Not really

You mean like something that is extremely huge?

re: Player1's Rig

yah. like, you know how jet engines on aircraft have a massive fan at the front, then the fans get smaller and smaller as the air becomes faster, and more compressed? yeah so basically have a similar layout with a few fans from ordinary desk fans (i got a killer desk fan actually - not them plastic shit either), then a centrifugal fan forcing the air through a duct, then onto the heatsink, then returing again to be blown out from the end.

im not crazy - im special

heh, yeah, its the convenience of not having to make some freaky custom cooler for which i never mentioned anything about any safety grilles

and water cooling is silent...

You mean like in the movies when flames shoot out of stuff? I'd be afraid of my desk burning down .

re: Player1's Rig

like hell it is. anyone with half a brain can do it. its the troubleshooting that can sometimes follow which is a problem

even then, the problem is usually solved my remembering to plug in ALL power cables (im referring to one of the recent threads).
