1200 MS Points

Not a bad price I guess. It gives you the "classic" look for the fighters, or the "HD Remix" version. Classic is nice for it's nostalgic look, but I prefer the HD Remix. Game is fun as hell, and having bought the original Street Fighter II HF and it's damn near impossible difficulty glitch, I'd say this is a nice update. Although Akuma proved to be a tougher bitch to defeat than I remember in previous games.

re: 1200 MS Points

Is there a way to have your opponents be in their classic colors in HD Remix arcade mode?

Only time that's happened to me is when I pick the classic colors for my character. If I press another colored costume, the computer makes my opponent match as well.

re: 1200 MS Points

That's weird. I always use classic Ryu by pressing the weak punch. But all of the CPU opponents wear the new colors.

I tried a bunch of stuff. The colors also differ depending on your difficulty setting.

I have never played arcade mode where the opponents wear classic colors.

Have the PSN version, by the way. But that forum is a ghost town.

re: 1200 MS Points

Ya, this forum is no different. Even online is a pain at times. If I can't find anymore to connect to a match, it's trying to keep them in and not ditching half way through that's the bigger challenge. Played a few games tonight and surprisingly no one left the game early.

They can't handle losing against my "cheap" M. Bison, then they shouldn't be playing. Period. I mean, Akuma's just as cheap, but I don't whine when I see someone pick him or Ryu.

How is the PSN for online; Just as much trouble connecting?

No, silky smooth, man. It was kind of surprising. I play Soul Calibur 4 on PSN, and that game is laggy as hell no matter how good your connection is. The bigger spammer always wins. Mortal Kombat vs DC, too. Game looks like a frikkin slide show sometimes.

I played eight matches on HD Remix last night and only had one match with lag. Pretty easy to find opponents, too.

I'm bored.

Tonight was better online. I started hosting all the matches rather than trying to search for one. Decided to go for the last two achievements (Win 100 Ranked matches and the one that's proving to be a pain in the ass, Master of All Things [win a ranked match with every character]).

Now, I wouldn't say I'm a pro at this game, but I played this game religiously as a kid so naturally I bought that Xbox Arcade port for Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting. Now that game was a pain in the ass. Even on the lowest difficulty setting, the cpu would be impossibly unbeatable at times. 3 of those achievements are beat Arcade on a 7-star difficulty, beat arcade without losing a match, beat arcade without losing a round.

The only one I've yet to get is the beat arcade without losing a round. I almost had it once, but my controller f'ed up when I went for a psycho crusher and threw a punch instead only to be met with a flying boot from M. Bison. Final boss, 1 round away from getting achievement and my controller chooses then to not cooperate. Pissed me off. Anyways, all of this is relevant because after mastering that game on 7-star difficulty, let alone any difficulty because of how messed up the AI is, you truly do feel like the best.

Getting my 100 ranked matches in this game is proving to be a piece of cake... with the right character though (ie. M.Bison for myself). I think I'm only 40 or so away now. I don't use Ryu, Ken or Akuma. Ryu is a favorite, but I tire worse of listening to twits whine about fireballs as I do with psycho crusher. So if I don't use M.Bison I alternate with Blanka and Fei Long. With me, Fei Long is even worse because his jumping fierce kick is nearly unblockable, plus I'm noticing everyone backing away into the "corner" of the screen and with this game, you get trapped and it kind of sucks. Do that with Fei Long and I just spam his rushing 3-punch combo. PSN having same problem where if you get trapped in the corner, you pretty much lose?

I also like how your opponent remains hidden until the loading screen. But I already count the spaces I hear during the selection screen. If I don't hear my opponent move spaces in the character select screen I know they chose Ryu or Ken. If I hear just two spaces, Akuma. 3, then most likely Guile or someone on the middle row like Sagat.

It was pretty funny this one incident, kept hearing the same amount of spaces and this kid kept picking Guile. First time I faced him I had picked shitty T.Hawk (for Mast of all things achievement >__< ) and he kicked my ass. I hate T.Hawk. So when I heard the same spaces next game, I just guessed and said Guile so I countered with my favorite M.Bison to increase my ranked wins. Sure enough it was Guile and it was the same kid. This went on another 3 or 4 games in a row where this kid kept getting in a match with me and each time he'd pick Guile. Mind you he sucked playing as him, so taunting was pretty damn fun because I knew too he was going after the Master of All Things achievement too. lol
