I think they're HMG's also. But whatever. I prefer the stg44 over the abr cause it feels more like the smg's to me.

According to the awards you receive in Campaign mode, they are classified only as LMG's, light machine guns.

I prefer the LMG. I find it very easy to use and way better then the SMG.
However, the SMG is more balanced then the LMG, but I find the LMG stronger and faster then the sub machine guns. | |

It does take less time to drain all of the ammo in the LMG's than in the SMG's, mostly because the LMG's only come with enough ammo to reload two times, while the MP40 has enough to reload three times and the Thompson has enough to reload six times, considering you are draining the clips.  ------------------- | |

I just tried using SMG's (STG44 in particular) it was a bit tougher, I wasn't nearly as good, but then I went to a match with all weapons on Village and got +40 somethin points from one game.

STG44 is an LMG. I want to apologize for my mistake earlier, according to campaign mode the BAR and Stg44 are LMG's, but according to the Online Multiplayer they are HMG's.
 Yeah, they can be good, it just matters the style of the people you are fighting IMO. ------------------- | |

When I shoot the Bar, I like how it is louder and feels stronger than the stg44 and I like how it responds. ------------------- | |

Yeah, IMO the Stg44 just feels weaker when comparing it to the BAR while shooting it. It makes more of a pop-gun sound while the BAR makes a more loud, prominent noise.

Yeah, I only like to use it in Campaign mode. I would recommend expanding your expertise in weapons, especially try using the BAR.

Ehh, I'm trying to expand my weapon choice, its just hard to practice with other weapons since I get blown to bits instantly, so far im only good with LMG/HMG (thats mp40 right?) and the zooka.

The SMG will beat the HMG if the two people are close, but if you are at a larger map like port, HMG will probably prevail if you keep your distance.
