They seem to be worse the the N64, maybe it;s just me. They seem cheap. I can't believe how cheap those turtle shells are

The turtle shells are fine in this game. Red ones are brilliant and green ones can be used accurately.

I've noticed when I was playing Rainbow Road on WFC, they went right off the track seconds after I had released them. I guess Rainbow Rad is a bad track for counting on Red Turtle Shells.

And what's up with the Blue Turtle Shells. They fly through the air now and crash down on who evers in first place.

I like how they used to go along the track like the red and green shells.

If you want to dodge a blue shell makesure you have a mushroom on you when it comes. Just as it's about to hit you, use your mushroom and you'll speed out of the blue shell's way.

I know in battle one time I used boost right before it hit me. That sucks because you never get boost in first place....... Mario Kart 64 had the best item balancing. Items are unbalanced in this game.

That's true. I always get a stupid banana when I really need something better.

Anyway, shells can make or break a match. You just need to turn around a tight corner or be in the air to avoid red shells. I have avoided like 15 red shells by going around corners. That boost thing works. When the blue shell starts to move down to hit you, use a boost.

I actually prefer green shells to red shells in courses with a lot of barriers. Another way to dodge a blue shell is to go backwards, and it should hurt other people.

Green shells are awesome. Only prob is Im a lefty, while my character is a righty. And I believe the items are very balanced. You don't necessarily dodge the blue shell by going backwards. You just get other people in there.
