I have played though silent Hill Homecoming & found it only really had a few cheap scares throughout the game. The others like silent hill 3 had me jumping out of my seat & when pyramid head chaises you in 2 is like one of the creepiest moments in the silent hill series. I just want to know is this because a American team is now working on silent hill or are horror game just not as scary as they once were.

great game imo, not perfect by anymeans but fun enough for me

I'm planning on getting this game since i saw paranormal activities. I like the feeling of jumping off my seat now and then, being one of my first horror game, I think I'mma get this before I get Silent Hill 4 which from what i read was scarier

I'm getting Homecoming soon. Also downloading Silent Hill 1 from the US Store, as they are the only games in the series I haven't played yet.

As for if Homecoming isn't as creepy as the rest, well, it is an american take on japanese series, so that might be the reason.

I think its absolutely the reason.

The game has quite a few moments of "American Horror Scares" as I've heard them called. Its very: "jump out and scream 'BOO!'" Sure the enemies are creepy and the environments are just mysterious, but that's kind of all the game offered me.

Sounds right. I've now completed Silent Hill twice. Now I need only Homecoming. Also, might look into Shattered Memories, though it's lack of combat sounds too weird for me...
