Auto-Aim

Anyone know if auto-aim is going to be in this game?

re: Auto-Aim

I don't think so, as it wasn't there in the previous game.

I used to hate free aim, but after playing MGS4, I got used to it. Its actually much more efficient than auto aim.

re: Auto-Aim

I got used to it, but in the last year the only shooter games I've played are GTA, I'd better get used to it .

I loved free aim.
It was so refreshing and actually made the game harder which i like.

I haven't played the first Saints Row and I was wondering whether it was really hard or could you get used to it?

Trust me, you do get used to it.
And it gets really easy after while.

re: Auto-Aim

Just hope that they assign moving and aiming to different analog sticks, and they retain the abiloty to move while aiming and shooting. I hate it when you start aiming, and you are forced to remain motionless.

That happened?
I thought they were different sticks?

re: Auto-Aim

Even if it is the same analog it's still quite easy to get used to, just face you enemies .

re: Auto-Aim

I found the aming in SR to be easy enough to get used to. I wouldn't mind some kind of auto-aim though, if for no other reason, than to give some variety to te gunplay.

Kinda hard to face your enemies when they surround you. Staying motionless in a gunfight is an easy way for a quick death, is what I've learnt from years of playing GTA.

re: Auto-Aim

just hold down the shoot button and spin round and round in circles until they're all dead, that'll get you out of anything in real life .

re: Auto-Aim

I really liked the aiming in SR so I'm hoping if there is auto aim then along side it is the option to turn it off, which there almost certainly would be.

I'm more of a fan of free aim myself; it gives me more of a feeling of accomplishment. Headshots are a lot easier to achieve too.

Auto aim in GTA IV was great though IMO, as the reticule doesn't lock and you can adjust your aim for headshots while focusing on a specific target. If an auto aim system like that was implemented then I'd probably use it.

re: Auto-Aim

In IV, if you tried adjusting for a head shot after using auto aim, the aiming cursor comes back to the torso if you let go of the right analog, and its awkward trying to press the circle button while moving the right analog. SA had that department better covered, you could use auto aim to lock on to the enemy, and move the right analog to switch to free aim. Sad that it failed in all other aspects of gunplay.

re: Auto-Aim

WTF, circle, are you sure it's IV your playing, in GTAIV R2 was the shoot button.
