Do i need to play the others? TBH honest i've never even heard of this title before. im not eve sure if it is an rpg but it looks like one. What do you think ? I prolly wouldnt pick up the other titles, but would it still be worth it to play this one?

No, I don't believe you need to play the others first.
However, since this game hasn't come out yet, I haven't had the chance to play it and therefor can't guarantee that.

I can guarantee that you definitely do not need to play the others first, but if you do plan on playing them eventually, it would be best to play them first. Otherwise, you would be disappointed because some of the gameplay features in this game are not present in the others.

Besides, it'll atleast give you a feel for what you're getting yourself into. The others more than likely won't be comparable to this one. With all the space that BluRay discs provide, there could be kajillions of hours of gameplay at our disposal.

If you have a PSP, I'd reccomend picking up the original Disgaea!

I don't believe the game would be TOO much longer than the other Disgaea titles, really...

They aren't making use of the PS3 and Blu-ray, much like they didn't really make full use of the PS2 and the DVD disks....

It'll be in HD, technically, but graphically it won't be too impressive....Special attacks, some of them at least, should look good, I hear....

You should try to play at least D1 (on the PS2 or PSP), to get a feel for it, before this game comes out, but like the others said, it isn't a prerequisite at all....

Never played a Disgaea before either. I just gotta wonder; what is up with the graphical style?? This is the PS3 we're talking about. These graphics could be pulled off with a PSOne.

Not bashing anything, I'm just wondering why things couldn't be spritzed up. I mean, the character sprites aren't even 3D, nor are they HD; they're blurry.

I agree that the graphics could be improved, but that doesn't mean the game could be on the PS1.

I'd be surprised if ths was a let down to any true RPG fan. As for the graphics I'm sure everybody has their opinions but after watching the trailers it looks like a nicely refined version of the earlier instalments hich is just fine by me. I happened to like the appearence and atmosphere of the other titles. So to each his/her own I guess.

Graphics < Gameplay

As read in an interview by the creator, he said he's not trying to make a game to get a bunch of money. He's making games for the fans. And the fans like anime. Anime is not 3-D. I'd actually be pretty mad if it went to 3-D.

They COULD up the graphical quality. Perhaps now that they have some experience with the PS3, the D4 game will have higher quality graphics (higher resolution, crisper graphics, etc).

Still, the NIS games have been about the gameplay and quirkiness, not the graphics. Why, I believe the first Disgaea was originally intended to be a PS1 title or something? Or otherwise, they said it could be on the PS1 were it not for all the audio (voiceover and music), pretty much....
