Pirates WHERE ARE THEY? |
|
OK, I know pirates don't start appearing until the 21st floor and on, but I've tried the following technique a ton of times:
Go on the 61st floor of an item (it was a legendary fist weapon). I stayed for a turn (took out a weak character, ended turn), and despite trying about 30+ tries, I've had no luck.... Do you need to have at least one character still alive at the end of the first turn, to have pirates show up? I actually HAVE beaten pirates before, I only have the crappy UFO ship though. So, not only do I need to defeat more pirates to get more illegal tickets (I need 3 more to get into the LoC), but to get the better ships too (2 turns just doesn't cut it in reverse pirating). Side note: My guide says Captain: LV X10 (depends on captain), is that 10x the level of the other crew members? I mean, if pirate levels are preset (not accounting for Stronger Enemy bills of course), then that isn't so bad, but if it is 10x the level of the regular item world units on the map, that is a problem...... -------------------

Surviving units would give them a better reason to appear, I would imagine.

Go to Class World, expand the PPP club a lot, and fill it with characters. Also, just advance through the item world and make sure you stay for a turn every time.

Ummmm, would having more people in the PPP club increase chances of them appearing?
Also, anyone have an answer regarding the levels of the pirates? -------------------

It's according to the level of the enemies in the item world floor.

re: Pirates WHERE ARE THEY? |

So.....Would the guide, which says "LV X 10" mean the pirates are 10x the level of other enemies on the floor? If so, I imagine the 'once past level 9999, 1% boost per X levels' applies? I'd get owned so bad (Floors I was on had like, level 2000+ enemies) >_>
I so, than it is just as well I didn't meet them in the item world. EDIT: I found out what the problem is......The stupid strategy guide has (as usual) erroneous data.... It says pirates appear on levels 21+ yes? WRONG. Apparently pirates don't show up on floors ending in '1' (and of course, not ending in '0' either). Yep, I wasted the time it takes to reload the game about 100 times, following a the official guide which has misinformation. Well, it isn't new though, the Disgaea strategy guides generally do have errors here and there.... So....after about 100 reloads, I searched online a bit more carefully and found out the above information. After following it the first time, boom, TWO pirate groups right off the bat. In the end, I got a total of 7 or so pirates in 10 levels! I encountered the cowboy pirates mostly, but also the carriage (it appeared as the second ship, so I wasn't able to capture it), and the FOrtune one. On an interesting side note, at the same time, I was able to level that item a total of 23 times (13 times more than the number of floors I went on), pity it was mediocre one (Legendary Thrill Seeker sword). I now have access to the Land of Carnage, and while I am no good for taking down CoO4 enemies (level 8200 or something!), I was able to go through a Remedy's first ten floors, and I was able to get some nice equips (a couple/few rank 39 items). I got a Normal Super Robo Suit, and a Legendary Satans motor, as well as several other items ranging from about rank 36 to 28, some legendary, some not.... re: Pirates WHERE ARE THEY? |
quote rasberylWell, different pirates will appear at different levels on the item world. Naturally, the stronger ones tend to appear in higher levels on the item. ALso, the strongest ones don't appear until the Land of Carnage is used to level the item. About your levels. Ahhh, don't worry, once you get some staticians (stolen when reverse pirating), and use the CLass World to duplicate them (via the puppy paw stick), you'll be able to get to level 9999 in fairly short order (the fastest you can do it, I think, is actually in ONE move XD). -------------------
