'ello all, acevus here.
D: and yes, they better be implementing online play. Can't wait to play D3 WITH it's online versus capabilities. ------------------- Neoseeker Big Brother Interview: "Eridor" quote

quote acevusPretty sure they won't be....The most we can really hope for, is them adding it in as DLC... Suck of them to not to, it wouldn't be too hard I think, it wouldn't even require servers I bet, since it is just basic field and action data required (field is this, characters are like that, character does this, etc).... -------------------

Hi. :] I'm Nicholas.
Just started playing Disgaea: Hour of Darkness... Though I've been a fan of grid-based RPG games for a while, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I hope to be able to finish both games before this one comes out. By the way, is the August 28th date set in stone by now? -------------------

There is some controversy over whether it's that or the 26th. I was going to hunt spirit bears to find out the real truth, and then posts pics, but due to my current circumstances, I am unable to do that, though I am pretty sure the official release date is the 26th. Here's my evidence:
http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/06/20/dis-is-a-deal-disgaea-3-50-at-launch/ http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps3/data/942139.html http://ps3.ign.com/objects/950/950618.html http://www.amazon.com/Disgaea-3-Absence-of-Justice/dp/B001C4C4KW http://www.joystiq.com/tag/disgaea-3 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disgaea_3 http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/disgaea3absenceofjustice http://www.gamesradar.com/ps3/disgaea-3-absence-of-justice/news/disgaea-3-witchs-tale-and-rhapsody-updates/a-2008060613111603038/g-2008022716418476068 Neoseeker is one of the few sites that says the 28th. And, yes, the date is set.

Greetings =)
I've always been into RPG's.. But the Disgaea series is new to me. Honestly I looked at a couple videos and I thought it looked really lame.. Then, on a different day, I noticed this game was coming out on my birthday, and I looked into it once again. It actually intrigues me now.. It looks very exciting! What other series could I compare this game to? It looks very original. Would I be ridiculously lost with the storyline without having played the previous titles? What's the gameplay like? ( I watched some Japanese videos.. I didn't really understand what was going on though -------------------

Hey!
Let's see, it's most like Final Fantasy Tactics for the PS and PSP. Yet while it has the basic roots of FFT it also differs on many levels (Too many to explain, really) Nope. You won't be confused. While it is set in the same Disgaea 'universe' the stories are completely different. You may be confused about what's so special about a short blue haired kid with a scarf... But most of that is in the post-story stuff. Although I HIGHLY recommend you find Disgaea 1 (PS2, PSP or DS. It's easier to find the PSP or DS) and/or Disgaea 2 (PS2) after playing through D3. Both are very satisfying and you can see of the game evolved over a short amount of time. The game play is a grid based Stratgey RPG. Pretty much, RPGs with challenge. Unit placement, environment, your army build, and what units you use to counter other is just as (or even more so) important as character levels. If you just take a search of You Tube, you'll be able to find some videos of the game play. ------------------- ![]()

Thanks for the information!
I'm also liking how long the older games took some people to finish! I'm a big fan of long games like Oblivion. -------------------

This game must be very, very good if people are buying ps3's for it.
Whats the best factor? The incredible depth? The fighting system? Originality? -------------------

There's something about RPGs, and Nippon Ichi ones especially, that makes one appreciate small ridiculous details. These games takes this details and adds more details to them, and then scales everything up 100 times.
I'm looking forward to the same old Disgaea experience; levelling up classes, unlocking others, amusing storylines, and watching my trio of skulls accidentily become far more powerful than the rest of the team. -------------------
