Throw the random crap lying ariund at him. don't even think of trying to attack him head on, it doesn't hurt him much and u will be in a world of pain, especially if he uses his devastator. Hope this helps

muscle mass. I doubted it for the entire game. Muscle mass throw, hit him with anything on deck and pound him. Another hint, throwing helicopters foes a lot of damage, and the explosive ordinance is good to get him off your back. Game on.

honestly, i just kept armor on most the time and used blade attacks on him. he will use a devastator after you beat on him a bit, so be prepared to turn your armor and blade off and get the *bleep* outta there before you get hit.
i don't know what other strat to give really, was pretty easy for me just doing that. -------------------

I just spam my all time favorite move: the long range whipfist attack, along with the occasional blade charge etc.

What I did was back off quite a ways, consume infected to charge up my mass all the way. The Hunters are not as tough during this battle because once the military arrive and the Hunters make their way to the streets away from Elizabeth where I was waiting, they would be mostly defeated. I'd select my Armor and Blade, finish them off and consume.
Once consumed, I would jump repeatedly while making my way back to Elizabeth as to dodge objects and those orbs she fires. I would get as close as possible and use the Groundspike Devastator (does the most damage I found... more than the Ventrile or whatever it's called). With the legs gone and the core exposed, I would walk right up and slice her until I had to repeat this routine until she popped out of the monster. I liked how Mercer didn't hesitate or ask questions when he saw her. Extremely satisfying. By the way... it doesn't end there... lots to do afterwards. This game just goes on and on. I hope there's a sequel.

quote Ham MonkeyI had difficulty with the last boss as well, but this really makes a difference. Make sure you have all three Muscle mass upgrades and just keep throwing burning helicopters at him. Oh and jeremyofmany you might want to put that bit of Elizabeth into another thread, because she isn't the final boss that we're talking about ------------------- ![]()

I used my whipfist to attack from range, and thhen throw the helicopters at him. Probebly not the best strategy, but if you use this, you will never have to get close. Just a way to stay away from death.
-watch out for his tendril devastator move,

Guys... Just spam devastators... The Palm Blast Devastator will kill him very quickly...
I'm fighting him right now, have armor and blade on and all I'm using are devastators and then grabbing him when he's stunned... ------------------- ![]()

Easier said than done.
I'm fighting him right now and he's constantly behind me. I try getting some distance and throwing choppers at him but I either miss or he bashes me before I even get a chance to pick up the chopper. Running around consuming the military personnel while he is on the move is not easy, either. The moment I get enough mass to use at least 1 Devastator, he pummels me which requires me to consume at least 3 military guys to get back to where I was. And I don't know how long it takes to stun him because I fought until he had half health and never once was he stunned. I find it funny that I thought Elizabeth Green was the final boss. She's easy compared to this guy. Edit - I still haven't beaten him yet. I see the YouTube videos where the guys make it look so easy dodging his attacks and using the Air Slice or whatever it is called... which does 2x the damage of a Devastator for some reason. I do not have this acquired unfortunately. Edit #2 - This is really starting to bother me. I've tried the Critical Pain Devastator which does the most damage but there's no way I can beat this guy. Even if I got his health down to the point where I have 1:30 left, I cannot defeat him in that amount of time... I mean, I like challenges... but after 20 tries... this creature is unbeatable. Edit #3 - That's it. I give up. I don't normally do that but I will make an exception in this case. On a final note, anyone who thinks any other game is difficult needs to play this. If you don't beat this, it will break you. This message was edited by jeremyofmany on Jun 14 2009.

There are two separate strategies that I used to beat him.
The first was to climb into helicopters and spam missiles at him. Each chopper only lasts a short while because he jumps up at you after a couple of seconds. If you can catch him during a devestator, just keep spamming missiles to get HUGE amounts of damage. Once you get down to the one minute mark, this strategy no longer works... The second strategy I used was to keep moving and charge-throwing stuff at him. He got stunned right into the one minute mark allowing me to pummel him down to very low health. from there only took one more thrown object to take him down. I've beaten him twice, and both of those tactics worked... goodluck.

Annoyingly, I only died once during the entire game and it was against this guy.
He was tough but I didn't think he was too bad. You just have to learn his moves and keep out of range of his attacks since he hits for a hell of a lot of damage. What annoyed me was that the military were more focused on killing me than him. Really, who was the immediate threat? ------------------- ![]()

jeremyofmany, this seems like a good strategy that doesn't require much. Just just target him, dodge the attack and then whip him over and over:
