What Settings Should Work On My Computer?

I know my computer isn't exactly a gaming machine, but I am wondering what settings to play Gears of War with a decent framerate.

CPU:Intel Pentium D 3GHz (2 CPUs)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE
RAM: 1022MB

According to Gamespot the minimum requirements are: 2GHz AMD or a 2.4GHz Intel single-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and an Nvidia 6600 or ATI X700 video card. So, I should be right in thinking that I should be able to play on low (or minimum) settings on a 800x600 Resolution, also Epic Games are known for optimizing their games for lower end and higher end computers (just play the Unreal Tournament 3 demo and you will know what I mean).

A quick reply would be great,

Oli

re: What Settings Should Work On My Computer?

i dont know about the 7300LE, its not supposed to be much of a good card anymore. but like you said the min specs are a 6600 so you should be able to get it on at least low. with my 7900GS i can get it running on high settings with a pretty frequent framerate of at least 30 or more.

your processor should run it ok but not too sure about the RAM, that might let it down seeing as the minimum is 1gig. usually if the minimum is 1gig then to get it running smoothly you should aim for at least 1.5 and preferably 2gig of RAM.

if you havent got your hands on the game yet and still want an idea of how well your pc will run it then you should download the unreal tournament 3 demo. it runs on my pc pretty much exactly the same as this game does. should give you a fair idea of what to expect.

The recommended graphics card is NVIDIA Geforce 6600+, or ATI X700+.

You're processor probably won't be able to run it as great as others, Then again, I'm not too sure about you're processor, as I'm not familiar with it.
