Also, expect to have to go at least somewhat Vista-oriented for a few of the up coming games, many of them require Vista's software to run properly.

what kind of settings or whatever would require vista? and what games?

ive been thinking of setting up my pc so it dualboots with xp and vista but since i hate vista im not sure.

Company of Heroes 2 and Halo 2 are two excellent examples, but games like Supreme Command and Sins of a Solar Empire are good examples of other games which are not as well known but are on a list which is ever expanding for the Vista-only audience.

screw halo 2 but other games being made vista-only is bollocks. i hate vista and i would hazard a bet that there are a good few million other windows users who feel the same, so games being released exclusively for that OS is BS. theres gonna be a hell of alot of pissed off gamers. especially when you factor in the performance drop of using vista compared to XP.

Forcing the folks into using Vista (which apparently has improved on newer computers when it comes to bugs and use issues) is a move which I'm fine with, if it had been performed over a longer period of time, but given the speed at which things were moved over, I think a few of the changes were a mistake.
