This thread will be for daily updates in IZJS gameplay. Several of us have started playing, and will post our progress here.

I have not done much today as I have been working on the Zodiac Wheel for the forum. I want to do a lot more too so that I can encourage people to play this game even though it is in Japanese (all cutscenes with voice is in English). It's not hard to pick it up and you just treat the symbols as a picture so you can recognise items etc. It really is worth the effort.

Completed Barheim Passage today and then for the first time boarded the Sky Ferry to get that "Damned Bow"

Zoned for 2 hours, got 3 chests, each containing 10 gil. More tomorrow, I suppose. I must be stupid

To update from where I left off with my reports in EV, I got through the Sandseas and am at Raithwell.

In the Sandseas, I discovered chests with great items. For example,

In addition, GM fought the forces of the universe to play. His PS 2 broke not once, but twice, in the course of getting it in playable shape for import games!

Everyone here is going to benefit from those of us now who are taking on this challenge. This is the first time that English speaking players are playing this game AND taking the time to translate and share discoveries.

Our hope is that more people will take up the game, and that we will provide enough discussions and resources to help players who are stuck.

For the record, the US guide for FFXII is called the Brady Guide. It has a good deal that is missing. The guide for FFXII IZJS is the Ultimania, in Japanese, published by Square Enix. GM has another game guide edition, hopefully he will mention it. These and the translations by Japanese player BE Tenner, along with Split Infinity's English charts taken from the Ultimania, are all we are using at this point. Along with our pooled knowledge of the English game.

I have a very dog-eared, spine broken, egg covered Piggyback Guide. Most of the enemies appear to drop the same items, it's the chests that contain lots of different goodies.

Patience Devilman, you're gonna be getting it a damned sight faster than you anticipated. Just remember what happened to me. I got my game and swap magic discs and then promptly broke the switch whilst setting it up. Sent the PS2 off special delivery to be repaired ($20 postage) and when it came back a WEEK later the on/off switch wasn't working Another $20 special delivery to have it repaired. In the meantime I went and bought a Phat PS2 ($80) and brought that home and finally got the game going. My slimline PS2 arrived back today and is working now and is permanently set for this game.

All in all it cost me $20 + $20 + $80 + $75 (original cost of game & swap magick) to get started. That is £195 for a game. Also, when my first PS2 arrived at the repair shop it had been damaged in transit so it cost me another $120 to replace it. I am going to be out of pocket because I can't find the receipt to claim damages from the Royal Mail. So altogether IZJS has cost me $315

Today I spent time trying to figure out which gambit is the one for Foe: If Item: Steal. Didn't find it, but didn't get through the entire list.

Got inspired to start working in the list of gambits. Started on the Foe gambits and got a long list. Went over some with GM and then very late completed as much as I could of the remaining screens 6-8.

I now know that the gambits I was working on for steal are the wrong ones. They are probably the ones on p. 8, if at all. The gambit I want could be a rumor!

Then spent some time zoning for the Seitengrate bow. Tried 2 different airships for about 1.5 hours. Didn't get a single chest.

I also did a lot of zoning for the Bow today and I must have averaged 2 chests per hour. No bow as yet.

Something I did try out to see if it still worked or whether SE had removed the Glitch. They haven't. The Ba'Gamnan Glitch is still there so there is endless LP to be had for as long as you want to chain at 5 LP per kill.

Sorry for this pst being off-topic, but I STILL don't get the Ba'Gamnan trick at all. Don't reply to this post about this, Rob, but instead send me, a PM, I just want to ask now so I don't forget later when it's useless. Thanks if possible.

Today, I took another small stepping stone into getting IZJS, by showing my grandpa that swap magick link Carie sent to me. so far, that's the one to get for me.
