The Zodiac Job Wheel |
|
This is an explanation of the Zodiac Wheel and the Jobs therein. I hope to be able to expand more on this game as time goes by and encourage many to try and play it.
How to Use the Job Wheel When you select your characters' job classes and their licence board, the zodiac wheel will come up first. 1. Use the Directional pad to move the wheel from symbol to symbol. Each highlighted symbol will also appear in the middle of the wheel so you can see it better. 2. Hit Square button to view the symbol/licence board you have selected. 3. Compare each license board with the English translation by Sephirosuy . A good way to begin to view them is to see where the initial Battle Command starts for each character, and then scroll around the licence board to see what that job will get. 4. Hit X to exit each board and go back to the directional pad to spin the wheel and view another symbol/licence board. 5. If you want to select a job, exit the licence boards by using X button until you are back at the wheel. Make sure the symbol/job you want is highlighted. Click Circle to select. Move the arrow to the FIRST (Yes) selection and push Circle again. If you change your mind, select the Second (No), and then hit X to go back. Once you select a job from the wheel (not from the actual licence board, from the wheel), then you can click on the licence board and start buying licences. Your selected job will have the character's picture underneath the symbol on the wheel. There are shrines associated with each of these jobs in Japan. Just click on arrow if no pic Aries = White Mage Weapons: Rods 1-4 Allocating Zodiark gives access to Greatswords 1 Allocating Chaos gives access to Greatswords 2 Allocating Famfrit gives access to List is very good, would have reduced the amount of time I spent flipping through all the guides to make the same comparisons, I spent HOURS trying to figure out how to make a balanced party. This would be much better because I can sort thru the options for techs, magics and so on. Nice work!
Now, we need more English speaking players to give this a shot!

Who needs a translation guide? I just go around menancingly fighting enemies, collecting thier loot, selling it, and so on. I don't use the translation guide about 95% of the time. I've gotten use to the important stuff. Like names, the entire menu, potions, phoenix downs, etc. Pretty easy if you spent only LESS THAN 5 HOURS into the game. XD
Well I just know it because I memorized where all the things are. If you have never played US or PAL FFXII, I recommend you don't play this game (unless you know japanese.)

Can you pick out a Winged Helm from your Inventory....or a Calot Hat....or a Turtleshell Choker? If you can't then you need to use a translator.
BE Tenner's Translation Guide is ideal for this and it's here on Neoseker. All you need to do to use this is to set your browser to read and produce the Japanese script. If you have the Firefox Browser then this is what you do. View-->Character Encoding-->More Encodings-->East Asian-->Japanese(Shift_JIS) For Internet Explorer Browser: View-->Encoding-->More-->Japanese(Shift_JIS) ------------------- Take a look here and get into this!!

would this work if u wanted to use it on the US version/ just like take those guidelines and use them for US? cuz i love the job system thing and this seems like the most legit system cuz it was actually one made up by squeenix, not some random people who wanted to make jobs lol. also whats up with augments? does everyone jsut get every augment?

We're not really sure. The problem would be getting to a license that is diagonal to another. Other than, that you would be able to do it.

re: The Zodiac Job Wheel |

Not everybody gets every augment, they are distributed mostly by job on the license board. In addition, some are unlockable. You might get Potions 1-2 on the license board, but then Potions 3 needs to be unlocked by assigning a certain esper.
It is particularly challenging to play if you choose jobs where only a couple of people have all the potion lores and all the remedy lores. Even more challenging, play with only ONE person with these lores. The Phoenix Down lores are also spread out, so you will find that tossing a Phoenix Down can mean getting raised, but with only 100 HP upon raising. Oddly, there are some lores that don't make sense with some jobs, you will find Magic Lores on a few boards where the job has NO magic to use!
