The redeemer |
|
Is it just me, or is the redeemer completely underpowered compared to the MARV and the Hexapod?

Dude u are completely right. the thing has onlt two garrision slots. an impossible slo movement and attack rate. takes forever to fire. the only good thing is that has tons upon tons of armour. maybe kane was thinking that everyone would shoot at this so all of his units could kill everyone while they were distracted

The redeemer may not stand up to the other epic units on its own, but its rage generator more than makes up for it. Cost of a rage generator? Only 2 garrison slots, rubbish attack and slow movement rate. Seeing your entire opponents army shoot each other and completely ignore you? Priceless.

yep, hammerheads with zone raider/troopers, or missle guys, or 12 fire hawks...if u have the money for such a good air force that is...
even if the redeemer has 2 rocket dudes garrisoned, it wouldnt be enough to stop a massive air assult on it, then its 5000 bucks down the drain, what a waste. BTW, i'm none too impressed with the hexapod either..but i think it may be better than the redeemer... -------------------

re: The redeemer |

I thought the redeemer was WEAK, once it becomes a veteran unit, it's unstoppable, refire rate of 2 seconds, auto heals and makes the garrisoned units veterans too. I completed 5 mission using it alone. It's stronger than the normal NOD units and QUOTES BORG LINES! COME ON!

well, well, well...it seems we have a redeemer lover on our hands..
lol, thats ok..everyones entitled to their opinion, thats what neo is for...but any epic with stripes is a killer, remember that, not just the redeemer... Ever seen a heroic MARV? i have, PAIN in the ass to kill to...but hellashiously fun to use if its urs... -------------------

I'm providing...a more balanced view. And if a REDEEMER stood between yourself and failure, and think we'd all agree that this EPIC unit could grow on us. Facing 3 MARVs is no picnic everyone, I'd take that help

re: The redeemer |

if you are refering to the nod campiagn mission, where you have to face a MARV, then later you have to face 2 MARVs, then the redeemer i built was nothing but a distraction..he did very little in defeating the MARV i sent him against, i had to take out both MARVs with my venoms, scorpions, raiders and attack bikes mostly, plus i drew them in close to my base so my obelisks could get shots off on em...
in short, the redeemer fell without even beating 1 MARV, and it even had help agaianst the one it Was fighting... so the redeemer is at the bottom of my list..i'll take a hexapod, and certainly a MARV anyday, over a redeemer...thats my opinion... -------------------

re: The redeemer |

That mission with 3 MARVs in is the one I beat one with 2 stealth tanks, 2 avatars and 3 obelisks, the other two I killed with the same plus about 12 upgraded venoms (as I used them to kill ZOCOM orca attacks). Anyway, the only things that the ridiculously good rage generator can't affect are aircraft and base defences, and they aren't going to be there if your using it to defend your base. Redeemers in global conquest are really annoying, as your starting force can be quickly wiped out by each other, talk about friendly fire...

The redeemers useless unless its facing groups of mobs, or is upgraded.
I put a blackhand(or rocket soldiers) and engi upgrade into them, self repair plus infantry(or aircraft) killer. Also, the ability it has overpowers large armies. And when it gets to heroic status its very hard to kill.

at first I thought the redeemer was a bag of shit, but now the rage generator makes it extremly powerful.
All profesionals (especially those of EA forums) say the redeemer is the most dangerous of the epics. I personally say the eradicator is the best because it's most tactical (retreat, back door attacks, Area-effective weapon, great AA with shocks, etc.) between the epics. For me it's: 1. Eradicator 2. MARV 3. Redeemer Although I see a huge army attacking I pray for a redeemer. It once saved my game, I was playing a team game on black's bigger battle and I saw a Behemoth+Flame Tank+Hammerhead+Purifier army heading my way, so I did the rage gen and all flame tanks killed themselves, most behemoths were dead same with purifiers and for killing the hammerheads I was using venoms and I ended winning the game with my specters and shadow teams. ------------------- Nothing currently available.

re: The redeemer |

The other day i finished an 8 player brutal map, capturing a gdi base in the beginning, i had a nice army of stealths+ mammoths, in conjuntion with one marv and the redeemer patrolling the inner tiberium field... needless to say i was fairly well off.
Imagine having all three heroic units at once.

re: The redeemer |

The redeemer's attack is actually quiet strong, the thing is the rate of fire is extremly low that it seems useless. I've never got a heroic redeemer to see how it is, but I can say if the ROF increases significantly and the damage also increases, it could outmatch even a heroic MARV. I once got a heroic MARV, absoloutely unstopable, won the match with it, but I always felt it's about to die, the enemy was a bit stupid aswel. A heroic Eradicator has been achieved a billion times by me and that thing is truly invincible, it just won't die when used properly, believe me; if the enemy sends mass venom/orca the AA shocks will kill in groups of 5+, if you send t3 units the eradicator will just win and even if it gets a bit too much weak you can escape it using blink pack.

re: The redeemer |

I was wondering, since the Hexapod requires a Mastermind or Prodigy in order to teleport, does that mean the Reaper-17 hexapod can't teleport at all?
But yeah, I've never even seen my redeemer be promoted to be honest... Possibly due to its rate of fire and it rarely actually kills something off. The only thing it is actually good for, is getting rid of that huge army that is standing in your way with the Rage Generator. The MARV gets promoted lots, probably because it usually has much killing potential and many weapons and a large rate of fire, especially with Zone Troopers or Zone Raiders. Haven't used the hexapod often enough to say much about it. What is a good upgrade combo for it? Need to test it out if I have the time sometime. ------------------- ![]()
