My team sucks |
|
It sounds like most people are able to be successful early in the Dynasty mode. Has anyone had a lot of success early in the Dynasty mode starting with a crappy create-a-team? I created Marquette and started with an Academic (1-star) rated team. I'm 0-8 in my first season (only on varsity level). I've been blown out a few times and had a few close losses. My players are slow as molasses. My fastest player has a speed of 74 with most of the players in the 50s and 60s. Does practice actually change the players attributes and make them better players or is it just for me to get used to the controls? I'd prefer just to learn by playing games. I'm looking forward to getting through this season and recruiting some speed. Is anyone else having the same problems that I am or do I just suck?

lol, no you don't suck, You are just learning, heh. Yeah you will actually have to go through alot of seasons... ok like 5, then you can start recruiting better, winning more, and starting to gain prestige with your team. I did Navy and they sucked ass at first, but then gradually got better and now get ranked in the top 5 every year after draft. Practice helps your players get better, but not as much as I think you want them to be. Just keep playing yourself without simulating, and eventually you'll get some good players, and they'll gradually get better and you can build on that.

Once you have recruited effectively for a couple years, your team will get better. Another tip is that you should schedule a lot of cupcake opponents.

dude dont schedule to many cupcake teams get at least 2 tough games believe me. and i started out as clemson with an average team and they have a prestige all the way. what i would do since i am in varsity also this time is to get through this season and scout not all 5 star but 3 star guys and build them because if you press select at the combine you could have a great speedster with great hands. dont worry though i had a friend who had mid ten state and had his best player with a 7 rate. he went 5-6 but then got goodplayers and is a powerhouse. A word of warning though you only get 3 years each contract so dont be bad for to long at least make strides in your 2nd season and then tke off in the 3rd season. but remember next season test yourself with at least 2 tough games and 2 cupcakes you will be better for it.

I created my college, started them from the cupcakes and built them into a power house inside of 3 years. The 1st is all about scheduling and who you play, I replaced a team from Conference USA and I went 8-5 that season. After that i have clobbered most of my opponents, but the rank teams still give me some problems.
The way to build is to get that first recruiting, focus on getting a fast RB and option QB, he made all the difference in my offense. if you can run the option in the first year or two, you will win enough to get the better recruits to become interested in you school | |

Remember defense wins championships! Speed is not always the best. If you can have steady drives and not turn the ball over noone will blow you out. Recruit middle linebackers and move them to outside LB to give your team a quick boost.

I found that if you just try to run the ball alot in your first few seasons, you will get a better running back in the recruting. and i agree with the option. it works wonders. after you have astablished yourself as a running team you can then start to turn on the pass. then all the recruting will fall into place. I started with Northern Illinois and i went from 115 to 5 in my first 2 yrs.

If you're going to be an Option team. Try to recruit heavier wide recievers, they won't be as fast, but they'll provide better blocking on the option out.
