Hi

Forgive me for being stupid but just got Steel Battalion from EBAY and I can't get it to work. What is the correct order to start up the VT. I have followed the manual and when I press the Ignition key it goes back to the Capcom logo. Is this a fault or am I doing something wrong ?

Hey, after you flip the toggle switches a systems screen will come up and you have to wait until all 4 bars cross the line on the systems screen then hit the ignition.

Thanks for that. However i still can't get it to work.
I have gone into the controller configuration screen where you can press all the buttons to make sure they work and if I press the ignition button it quits it back to the capcom logo.

if your xbox has a mod it wont work as u need to update the bios but there is a little trick im using till i update my mod what u do is when the ignition button lights up wait about 2 seconds then press the start and ignition buttons very fast and then it should work if u still have problems e-mail me

I have a modded xbox too. What it is is that the ignition switch activates your BIOS reset feature. The easy way to do this without re-flashing your BIOS (which I hate doing, it scares me ), is to just turn OFF your modchip while playing steel battalion, if your chip has a switch, that is.

Isn't there a way to change the button combo that causes that BIOS reset?

While modified xbox's are mentioned, people are not discussing how to modify an xbox, but rather how to use the game which was affected by having a mod chip in it. Please keep that in mind not to stray from topic. Help threads for games will not discriminate against hardware modifications in this case as it's unlikely that someone would own the required hardware for this title and not the actual software. There appears to be some sort of bug with the game not working if the system itself is modified. If this was a stand alone title, I could see concern with allowing help for this title in relation to the modification, but the Massive controller and title go hand in hand together and it's unlikely for someone to own the controller and not the title.

For those having this problem, you are using a legitimate licensed copy of software when playing while experiencing this problem?
